If, like us, you are looking for somewhere to relax after your travels then Sela is absolutely the perfect place to unwind, just 30 mins outside Chiangmai. The building is beautiful and the staff is most welcoming and attentive. The grounds are well maintained and the good-sized pool is immaculate, with both shady and sunny spots to relax. Breakfast is varied and plentiful and Windows restaurant, open from midday, offers delicious dishes to suit all tastes. It is perhaps surprising to discover that the property was built very recently as it echos the style and grandeur of yesteryear. I’m certain this beautiful hotel will soon become a go-to destination for anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of Chiangmai for the peace and quiet of the countryside. All in all this property is an absolute gem

High quality furnitures and finishing. The mood is peaceful and comfortable. Very well maintained as you can see the staff tidying the area daily. Service is impeccable. Assistance with small request to taking note of things that might be beyond our expectations, such as pushing for our beverage to be prepared in a jiffy (for take away) when our airport transport is arriving.

Lighting at night in surrounding area is dark. Hard to get a grab back

The service was exceptional. Everything in the hotel is top notch. The view of the hotel is also really good and serene. It is a must come for everyone visiting Chiang Mai.

The location is a bit far

Staff are fantastic. In a beautiful quiet area. Hotel was quiet and peaceful. Pool area and breakfast lovely. On site restaurant is exceptional

Bath was on the small side. It’s very remote - not much else around which might bother you if you were there for a longer stay

The service is great. The decorations is very detailed and we'll planned.

The garden isn't took care well. Which is ashamed as everything else is excellent. The breakfast could be better especially full English breakfast. The proportion and then variety of it, should be called mini English breakfast.

Staying at Sela was definitely one of the best hotel experiences I have had. The hotel was created in loving detail by the owners and they got everything right. From the design to the service. Most pleasing was the fact that Sela was newly built but it managed to display the charm of a grande dame already. The breakfast was wonderful and available until 12:00. We will definitely come back.

It would be recommended to come with a car if you want to explore Chiang Mai.

The total Writer's Hotel you does not regularly get here in Thailand. There are too many favorite thing, but here are the key highlight: - the Reading Room is really design for reading, with several good selection of read. - the Breakfast Room is like what it should be in B&B, plus the food is great too. - the Writing table incorporated into each room for, well, writing. - the overall atmosphere make it like a museum; you can simply sit and admire the building itself. This is one of the hotel where you would want to take a photo with the hotel, like the whole building. - the Restaurant (on separated building, but as part of the hotel itself) is superb. We have one of the best fish and chip here. I really get that the owner has put a lot of thought into the hotel and it really shows.

Location wise it is quite far from city center, so a rental car is required to get here. But then if you really wants to stays in secluded and quiet location - this is perfect. Also, the room isn't that soundproof (we stayed on the 3rd floor) but we can hear people talking regularly from the first floor; but nothing major nothing serious.

Uniquely beautiful architecture and decoration but blend in well with the local surroundings. Room was spacious and well designed that you can enjoy your moments just staying in the room. Breakfast choices were well selected and really delicious. Staffs were friendly and gave me very good services. I also enjoyed the dishes I had at Windows Cafe in front of the hotel. They served many interesting dishes and drinks in comfortable price. All in all, my two nights staying were great experience and I wish to stay again if I visit Chiangmai.

The hidden serene getaway place in Chiangmai. The building, ambient and decorations from common areas all the way to guest room are exceptional. Bed, Bath and dining are 5-star hotel standard. Overall experience is 10 out of 10, highly recommend for anyone
