We're returning guests. When we first came here, we booked here because of its proximity to the ferry port. For the second time, Moonshine Resort was our destination. It's close to the National Park and a wat that's partly inside a rock. I love how remote this area is and how close these "hidden gems of Thailand" are. If you stay here, you basically have a 5 km-long beach for yourself.

On our second stay, sadly, we noticed that the sea is full of trash in the direction of the ferry. Not the resort's fault, by any means, it's just sad.

I came for a purely practical reason as I wanted to be close to the ferry for the islands. But I was glad I stopped over and could have spent another day just chilling and exploring the local area. The beach was absolutely deserted but did manage a little chilled beach bar 2 minutes from the hotel. The food was good and reasonable price so no need to go elsewhere. They sold me the ferry ticket (for the same price as you can buy at the pier) and even threw in a free ride to get there. The pool was a refreshing addition and even was a decent size for a hotel. I've never stayed in a tent with AC before so that was strange but worked great

We enjoyed our stay, we used it as a base for the ferry to Koh Tao, however, we stayed for two nights and it was agreat start of our holiday. Around the hotel there is not much, which we liked. We were literally alone on the beach, in the near restaurant. We used the free bikes to explore the surroundings ( I really recommend going to see the Mu KoChumphon National Park and definitelly dont miss the Wat Tham Pong Pang temple on the beach). The facilities were great, huge rooms, comfy beds.

I didnt really like the pool, although my kids loved it. It is really old and the tiles are falling apart (kids were diving, collecting the pieces), some places of the pool have really sharp edges, be carefull. And it is not very clean, the smell of the water was weird..

Pleasantly surprised. We were a little bit concerned when we saw the tents but they actually worked really well for short stay. Air conditioning works really well. The property is close to some beautiful beaches. Some of these you need a taxi or car but definitely worth a visit. The host was very warm and helpful.

The pool has some tiles missing and is a little hazardous, although we still swam in it. It does feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but it gives you a real taste of local life.

The Moonshine Resort welcomed me with the warmest host I’ve encountered during my whole stay in Thailand. Luna is a very nice super intelligent woman who helped with everything. Thank you for the talks. The food is very affordable and delicious from breakfast to dinner. The resort is close to the Nationalpark of mangrove woods. You can rent a Scooter with them and discover the very charming countryside around Chumphon. The rest of the ladies taking care of the place speak less English but are the same level of sweet and sympathetic. I prolonged my stay there after two nights because I felt so comfortable. Thank you guys.

Great host (her name is pronounced Oye) .Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great quirky accommodation in fancy tents with power and a/c and own private toilet/shower. Quiet jungle location close to beach and ferry.loved it and will definitely visit again.

If needing a grab taxi- need to book in advance as the location is quite remote and about 11km from bus/ train station in the town.Dont leave until last minute.

I stayed for around 10 days here in a tent. The staff were welcoming and always looking to please, and the pool and loungers were great for getting hot and then cooling off. It's really remote, which suits me greatly and is extremely affordable. Don't expect many restaurants or bars nearby. In fact, don't expect much of anything nearby. The bathroom was spacious, and the food at the guesthouse was filling.

It gets extremely hot in the tents, but they have air-conditioning; you just need to get the temp right. Naturally, noise travels through a tent, which can get annoying. Anyone staying in a room complained about their beds being too hard, mine was fine in the tent.

I needed a quiet place with a swimming pool and that was exactly what I got. I do suggest to come with your own means of transport unless you are just planning for an overnight stay. They are very helpfull arranging transfers . On my request they were also so friendly to pick up some fruit for my stay. There is also a good restaurant close by called ‘To the moon’.

On the site there is a menu with ‘Grandma’s revommendations’ which unfortunately are no longer available. I understand the reasoning but it was one of the factors that made me choose this place. The current menu choices are a little bit underwhelming, certainly when staying for more then a few days. As stated before this can be solved by eating somewhere else. The grandmother suggestions should be removed from the website because it’s misleading and menu options could be improved with a mininum effort. There’s also some wear and tear vissible all around the resort which is normal but can in my opinion be managed in a more constructive way. E.g. remove damaged sun launchers from sight and return only when fixed.

Close to Chumphon ferry port, yet in the middle of nowhere. There is one beach restaurant and a noodle shack within walking distance. You can rent motorbikes or take one of the bicycles for free to discover the nearby national park. They offer free shuttle to the ferry port. I loved how quiet, calm and laid back this place is. It might not be everyone's thing, but this is is the perfect place to just chill by the pool, and talk walks on the empty beach. The staff are nice, and the restaurant serves good food for reasonable prices. We stayed in one of the bungalows, which was basic but clean. The resort also has tents. They offer complimentary toiletries and free water bottles. Great value for money.

Everything was fine.

Dinner was good and breakfast good , nice location not far from the beach

After checking in with our dog the person asked us for 200 baht 30 mins later after checking in saying that was for cleaning after having dog in the room , even though our dog slept in its own box in the room , this should have been discussed during check in , and they never answer my message i send about the dog
