We drove around Koh Chang and think this location is absolutely BEST! The hotel is located in a private area combining 3 hotels (it's like a mini village). There is private beach and a restaurant. You can easily walk around but if needed there are staff driving guests around. They will also provide a shuttle to nearest 7-Eleven. We rented scooter for 10 days from the hotel and everything was just fine with it. There are 2 pools, both super nice. Also the gym is good. It was comfy, clean and quiet place. Just what we needed! And also the breakfast was good.

The room (a family one-bedroom suite) had two separate balconies. One was huge! Beds were super comfortable and we had plenty of room for three adult friends traveling together. The beach was stunning—nice and quiet with a long stretch of sand, shallow water and a long sand bar. We had to walk out ages to get to a swimmable depth but we could also swim in the pool just off the beach. Cocktails for happy hour weee yum and the staff were incredibly kind. We’d come back in a second!

It’s quite a huge property which wasn’t a problem for us but if you like everything to be close together (or very close to town), this might be an issue.

Stayed 1 day at Marina Sands in a family room prior to 16 days at Peninsula bay. Marina Sands is three 4 storey apartment blocks on the estuary and near the small marina , it forms part of the blue haven bay resort which is mainly holiday homes. So attracts plenty of families and is v. quiet in the evenings. Room large with v. large balcony. Good Aircon, comfy v. large bed. Good views from high floors. Shuttle buses take you around resort or up to the village (to refill fridge or eat out/catch a taxi/Songtaew) Breakfast location for Marina Sands is on the estuary Breakfast options seem a bit limited after a few days. Nice rooftop pool at marina sands , very sparsely used. (most people go to the beach) We ate a couple of times at the Beach Bar and multiple times at Montee Seafood... My wife is Coeliac and took a Thai Gluten free card - both places recommended foods she could eat without any problems. Also ate at multiple places up at the main road, again - no issues & it's hotter than the forecast from overseas states... averaged mid 30's most of January. Wifi good and 5G signal all over island

food at the beach bar is a bit bland and expensive by Thai standards.. Service was often very slow. But you can use the fridge in your room and the shuttle to the main road to restock it.. Montee seafood is walkable and serves good food... (Great Green Thai Curry)

Outstanding staff Outstanding value Beach side Breakfast. Enhanced further with recent upgrade. Being in the pool watching the sunset then sitting by an island in the sea watching it more within a few meters. Plastic free beach. Excellent room standards. Well looked after. Balcony to sit out on and listen to nature Road between the property and White Sand beach is now fixed excellently. Love this place🙏

Nothing it was brilliant.

The location is fabulous. Very peaceful and quiet beach. There was always a shuttle to take you from A to B and the food in the beach restaurant was good

The staff were inconsistent. Some were friendly and others e.g in the beach restaurant were less so. There was a laid back approach to some things eg lots of fruit flies swirling around the food at breakfast, when I checked in, the room was so smelly with drains and damp, they told me housekeeping could be sent over. I had to explain that it wouldn’t resolve that problem Eventually they put me in a different room.

Staff all around, in front of the building there were always hotel staff to help us or bring us to the breakfast and not to mention to the reception. Clean ladies gave us plenty of towels and water bottles everyday. From our room to the main beach and breakfast room is quite a walk, but we had a rent-a-car, so it wasn't an issue for us. A benefit of remoting from beach and other guests was definitely to have a quite area around us. It was so peaceful, and we slept so well.

On the third day there was no internet connection from evening until next morning. but it was Sunday, and we were just packing up, no problem. Next day at 9am it was back again.

Beautiful big room and balcony. Great housekeeping everyday. The 3 pools and 2 beach club and beaches. The free shuttle.

Too big to be walkable from out room to the main beach. Shuttle forgot us 2 times. They checked us out the next day of our arrival even if we were staying for 6 nights. Our key cards weren’t working. So We call them and waited but they never came. After a long wait we walked to the reception (far from our resort) and they reactivated our keys but we had to walked back to our room. Our room was on the last floor and the elevator was broken half the time we stayed there. Far from everything, other beaches and restaurants and live neighborhoods. Taxi are back trunk of pick up trucks and are very expensive. No other choices to rent a car.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel overall. The room was clean and comfortable. On the positive side, the hotel's taxi service was reliable and efficient, but we’d still recommend renting a scooter for more freedom to explore the area. The real highlight, however, was the stunning beach. The palm trees, soft sand, and crystal-clear water made every moment by the sea absolutely perfect. Despite the small drawbacks, the beautiful surroundings and relaxing atmosphere truly made up for everything.

We did encounter some minor issues with the toilet drainage. The breakfast was decent, but after two or three days, it became a bit repetitive – some more variety would be a nice improovement.

Spacious comfy and clean room with very comfortable bed, large bathroom with great shower, large balcony with lovely view on the mountains. Nice long beach. Good restaurant (20 min walk from the rooms). Good breakfast (included).

There was nothing intimate about the place. The Marina Sands was part of a compound with private villas, a small golf court, and a small marina. The area was in development and everything was quite far spread out. You would need to use the shuttle to reach the main street/village/nearest convenience store. It was more of a holiday village (second homes) than a place for incidental independent travellers. If you want to have a better feel of Koh Chang, you should chose a smaller scale place, closer to a local community. (note: It would however be good if you came by pleasure yacht and used the marina). The reception staff was able to help with making tour bookings, but tour services were not their core bussiness and they would not do so late afternoon and evening.

This resort is huge and offers direct access to a clean beach. You can easily walk to the beach from your room, or use the resort's convenient car service to navigate the property. Amenities include a golf course, and while we paid around 1,000 THB for two sets of 20 golf balls (one set would have sufficed for the four of us), and the experience was enjoyable. The resort has two pools: a smaller one near the rooms and a large one overlooking the beach, complete with the hotel restaurant and a lot of seatings. Our room was spacious and comfortable and complemented by the exceptionally friendly staff. I would recommend the refreshing avocado kiwi smoothie and the delightful Sunshine Bowl for breakfast.

While the other food was generally good, the desserts at the restaurants were very disappointing. The chocolate lava cake and crème brûlée, in particular, tasted like they were bought from the supermarket and of low quality. I don't recommend them at all.
