Loved the simplicity of this accommodation, yet comfort and incredible views!! The bungalows have everything you need, and the most incredible balcony and views over the bay and vegetation. You will love waking up with the birds sounds and to that sunrise!! Don, the owner, and his family are lovely. We also enjoyed very much the boat trip with him!

The bungalows are up the hill, so be ready to climb to reach your room (yet that’s the price to pay for the beautiful view). AC is not included in the booking.com rate, and you can purchase it for 500 baht per day, which we found quite expensive.

A stunning property with views that are the stuff dreams are made of. We stayed in Yai - super spacious, very private and worth the little incline from the reception/dining area to get there. The breakfast / front of house staff were extremely friendly and helpful, although the cleaning staff were unusually not keen to smile or say hello whenever we tried to greet them. But they did a great job keeping the room looking spic-and-span and the breakfast was fine (simple choices, but delicious smoothies and the mango with sticky rice was a lovely added touch). Highly recommended and we would definitely return.

It really was an excellent stay and there were no complaints.

What a cute little place! The view from the rooms is stunning, you can sit there for hours (if the mosquitos allow!). The staff is incredibly helpful, they help us rent a motorbike directly from the hotel which was very convenient and whenever we had an issue they were quick to assist. We really enjoyed the breakfast which included of a fruit smoothie, an egg dish and a pancake. The owner also helped us with our luggage upon arrival as it can be a bit of a climb to the rooms. You can also book ferry tickets directly from the hotel if needed. The island is a smalls o a motorbike is very much necessary to explore it, the roads are safe as there are not a lot of cars.

The rooms are dark and the bathroom gets very wet

Absolutely loved everything about this property! A lovely friendly welcome at check in then taken up to our bungalow. The bungalow was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a perfect stay - complimentary water, coffee and toiletries all replenished daily. The breakfast is delicious and all freshly cooked - good selection of eggs and pancakes together with smoothies, coffee and toast. Hired a scooter to get around the island for 200 baht per day. We fell in love with the island so much we extended our stay!

There was nothing to dislike at all.

I’m not sure there’s anything to dislike, This is the most relaxing setting I think I’ve stayed in. Raw and Don are the nicest people so humble and welcoming. The bungalow we stayed in was compact with beautiful scenery. The breakfast attention to detail was superb and tasted amazing. They also rent scooters and can provide information on activities and transfers required. We took a scooter and went around the whole island. There are a few shops for necessities and Bayview restaurant is just next door for evening meal. If your looking a party setting this maybe isn’t the place it’s is tranquil and relaxed.

Noting as such the hill up to the bungalows is a climb but thankfully Don helped us with our luggage. If you have mobility issues this isn’t for you. There isn’t an iron in the room but we didn’t ask / need one.

This place is incredible! Everything about it exceeded our expectations with stunning views from the large balcony, lots of clean and comfortable space within the room and wonderful friendly owners and staff. You can watch squirrels and hornbills from the comfy hammock and we slept every night with the glass doors to the balcony open to wake up to the bay view. The breakfast is also fabulous, every morning mango sticky rice, a fruit shake and an option of egg or pancake with unlimited toast, tea and coffee with lovely views. You can rent a moped which is very reasonably priced and the staff can also organise boat trips, kayaks etc. for you. There are a few nice restaurants within easy walking distance, including a few on the beach which is just at the bottom of the hill and a lovely cafe. It was also great to have a decent sized fridge in our room where the cleaning ladies gave us water every day and we could store our own drinks.

It's hard to find faults and all these are minor. The hill up to the room is very steep and would be difficult for those with mobility issues (but we rented a moped so often just drove to the top!). We also found the pillows a bit too thin but that is I guess a personal choice.

This was the third time we stayed at Hillhouse, that’s how much we love this place. The bungalows, the views and the staff are enchanting. These bungalows on the hillside just provide a mind blowing view over the bay and the other islands in the distance. It will be hard to find a better view on the island. The bungalows are not too big but very comfortable for two people, they’re well equipped, pretty and very clean with a good bed. The hammock is amazing! Enjoy a generous breakfast (sticky rice with mango = Nr.1) with stunning views, a good way to start the day :-) . We thank Ro & Don, they are the loviest couple, it was good to see you again

Quiet peaceful location amidst beautiful tropical gardens with stunning limestone karst views. I appreciated the design of the bungalow, open and airy, with large glass bi-fold doors which open onto the deck to make the most of the natural surrounds and the magnificent views. The double bed was large and comfortable with mosquito netting. The bungalow was serviced daily and was always spotlessly clean. Some of the bungalows have aircon but I specifically chose one without as I find the fans more to my preference and sufficient to keep me comfortable. The breakfast was nice, delicious and nutritious, and beautifully presented in the open dining area - with those views! The owners are always (I've stayed here before) so friendly and helpful - hire a motor scooter from them and explore the island!

The property is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views of the islands. It is quite the uphill hike so make sure you are fit to make the climb. The staff/family is so kind and attentive. Breakfast was amazing and served right on the hill overlooking the water and nearby islands. It is so quiet and I spent majority of my time laying in my hammock on the terrace, as there were many afternoon storms during my stay. Just down the hill and to the right are some great beach restaurants and just a little bit more of a walk is a lovely massage place. I did not rent a scooter so my time was spent exploring on foot. If you are able to drive a scooter this is the best way to fully explore the island.

I, mistakenly, rented a room with no air con and it is was extremely hot and humid during my stay 8/7-11/7 which made sleeping difficult. My own fault and I had to cover myself in mosquito spray 24/7 and sleep inside of the net since I slept with the doors open. I'm sure during the drier season it would have been perfect.

Hillhouse - Koh Yao Noi is a wonderful place to stay! The views are stunning, our room was quiet, very clean and comfortable (the bed provided some of the best sleeps we had our entire trip) and the breakfast was first rate. The staff were superb! We really enjoyed the private full-day island tour the owner provided with his own boat. A very memorable experience we highly recommend.
