One of the best hotels I have stayed in throughout my last 20 years travel, all taxi drivers of istanbul know where is Akgun Hotel, the room is big, clean, and very cosy. The breakfast is so diverse and so delicious, specially this royal honey with nuts, not to mention 7 kind of cheese...5 stars is not enough for this amazing hotel.

I had a very positive experience overall. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, providing plenty of comfort during my stay. I particularly appreciated the generous size, which made it easy to relax and unwind. The breakfast was very good. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for ample space and a pleasant stay!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Akgun Istanbul Hotel, and I must say it was a wonderful experience. This five-star hotel may be located a bit far from tourist attractions, but the proximity of the red line metro station made it very easy for me to access all the main attractions. The hotel's janitor, reception desk staff, and bellboy were very friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The hotel's interior is stunning, and everything was clean and useful. My room was spacious with a queen size bed and a small sofa. Even though I arrived two hours earlier than check-in time, the hotel provided me with complimentary tea and coffee while I waited. But the waiting time was only 15 minutes, and it wasn't a problem at all. During my stay, I found that the safe box in my room was locked, and I asked reception for help. The service man was in my room within a couple of minutes and kindly helped me with this problem. While I was out in the city, the hotel surprised me with a complimentary fruit basket, which was lovely. The breakfast was included in my room price, and it was an extremely rich buffet with a big variety of hot and cold meals. It was one of the most delicious breakfasts I've had at a hotel. The raw honey in the frame for honey with honeycomb was one of the most interesting installations. The hotel's upper level bar offers a breathtaking view of Istanbul, and although the swimming pool was closed for the winter, the lobby had many activities, including a barbershop and cafe. I plan to bring my family for reunion in a couple of weeks, and I would love to stay in this hotel for all 20 members of my big family for a week. The hotel's spacious rooms and excellent facilities would be perfect for accommodating my family, and I am sure they would enjoy the hotel's friendly service and delicious breakfast. Overall, the Akgun Istanbul Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Istanbul.

The staff were lovely and the hotel was lovely and clean.

The location. It was sadly a trek on buses and trams from the main attractions that we spent a lot of time at. In hindsight we should have stayed closer to them because after a day of sightseeing we were exhausted.

location is not the best, takes sometime to travel to old town. The tram and bus were so crowded and metro sometimes does not work

room was big with comfortable sofa, hotel is stunning clean, cleaners are exceptional, my room was left spotless every day. food selection at breakfast was absolutely superb

only the room service which was erratic, I used room service every day and every single time they forgot something, I mean every time!, and they had to go get the missing items even when told explicitly not to forget anything they managed to mess up. apart from that everything was good

Overall a positive experience, safe hotel, good location near public transport and enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel. - Check in was smooth with bags taken straight from taxi to rooms - Staff were friendly and happy to help, guest relations at reception for help and WhatsApp communicated to check in - Hotel accommodated our needs to have two rooms next to each other on same floor which was really helpful - Hotel provided complimentary breakfast upgrade which was a nice surprise and had a good variety. Mix of Continental and Turkey breakfast with plenty of space and eggs on request - Rooms which were clean, spacious and came with all of the amenities expected - Hotel also provided complimentary fruit and snacks in the rooms - Hotel has a Starbucks inside and a Turkish Spa / gym - Very convenient links for bus and metro at this hotel (2min walk) as well as 7 minute walk to nearest local restaurants. Quick to taxi via Airport (booked via Booking.com and had a good experience) - Shower strength good and warm. Easy to use. - Generously late checkout (12pm) with complimentary gift on leaving

An overall good experience, but there there four areas below which I would have expected of a 5 star hotel: - The decor of the rooms were a little tired and could be updated to become more modern. The main lobby is very grand and nice though. - No outdoor food is allowed to be brought into the hotel to be consumed (maybe due to security reasons?) - The room's amenities were not fully restocked daily, which meant that we had to request via guest services - Bathroom not fully soundproof with neighbouring rooms and also did not have a toilet brush. Hairdryer is old and very very loud.

The hotel is clean and close to bus station. Also, I would like to appreciate Smit Incekara who helped me a lot during my staying and facilitated my requests to gym and SPA services.

Gym area is so small. You need to make reservations. The same SPA services. Power supply requires special adapters. You can buy it from store in the hotel.
