The Black Art Hotel is a very friendly place. The staff responded quickly and politely to our messages prior to our arrival, which was very reassuring. We arrived by car, and parking was easy in the area (there is a space in front of the hotel, some free spaces nearby, and even a private parking lot at the end of the road, which we didn’t need to use). The room was exactly as we expected, but since there was a problem with the fridge, they moved us to another room on the same floor (which was even bigger!). The air conditioning worked perfectly and the rooms were nice and quiet. The highlight of our stay was definitely the AMAZING breakfast and the staff’s professionalism, as they were always warm and ready to help. If we visit Istanbul again, we’d definitely stay at this hotel (probably on a lower floor next time to skip a few stairs). It wasn’t just great value for money, but also super convenient for getting around — whether by car, Uber (which we often used for trips to the old town), public transportation, or on foot (though be prepared for plenty of uphill walks in Istanbul!).

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! It is extremely clean and beautifully maintained, making you feel at home rather than in a hotel. The staff is professional, friendly, and works in perfect harmony. They genuinely love what they do, and it shows in their excellent service. The rooms are cleaned daily, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant experience. The hotel is located in a quiet and lovely area, yet it is close to all essential services and tourist attractions. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, and the price is excellent for the quality of service provided. Highly recommended!

The staff are super - friendly, helpful and nice to be around. The breakfasts were totally Turkish, very generous, and slightly different every day eg different fruits, ways cooking eggs, sweet treats etc I love that they look out for a couple of the local street cats. Their Turkish coffee is fabulous. The Princes' Islands trip they suggested and arranged for me. Not at all stingy with the heating. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe there.

At least some steps up and down are unavoidable, so not ideal if you have mobility issues (they will of course help you with any bags, and base you on one of the lower floors if they can - I asked several weeks in advance). No facility to take card payments, so you need cash, but then there aren't any room safes (they had to hold my spare cash/valuables for me at Reception). Location wise, it's not very handy for the metro or trams for the main sights if you're not a strong walker (not their fault, Istanbul is massively hilly), so you can end up relying on taxis. The bar isn't fully stocked, so don't expect much, if anything, in the way of spirits.

Loved our room, the proximity to Taksim Square, the free breakfast, and the staff. Bariş and his staff were extremely polite and helpful.

No elevators and our room was on the 4th floor which was a bit uncomfortable every day, and the hotel itself is located at the bottom of a hill that you have to walk to get to Taksim Square and Istiklal street, which is also something we did not know about.

A vey good hotel with an affordable price especially during high seasons.. 10 mins away from istiklal street and taksim square.. transportation from the hotel is very easy… breakfast is delicious and staff ate so friendly.

Rooms are small but not an issue because we spent most of the times outside exploring the city..

The rooms was nice clean and warm during winter, the staff were very friendly, they helped us with luggage taking it up to our rooms and coming down. they clean the rooms regularly, very close to Sunday market, the breakfast was really superb, they accept all currencies. And there is an exchange shop right outside which is really good.

The location was not the best, although all the security measures were in for the rooms ( rails fences etc) the location can be a bit disappointing, we did not have any problems during our stay, but can be scary at first sight.

The property is very comfortable and features a beautiful design, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The natural light flowing through the windows adds a sense of space and tranquility, making it an ideal environment for rest and relaxation.

Only The room is just a bit small, which makes the space feel a bit limited and less comfortable for full use.

The hotel is a good one for value, is also near to Istiklal Street, and also has good staff in the reception with a professional and helpful mindset. I would highly recommend the hotel for the value and can meet all your needs.

The points that you need to keep in mind are: be aware of the stairs in case you have heavy luggage and don't keep the windows open due to mosquetos

1. rooms are somehow small 2. Also if you want to go to istiklal street you will have to walk on a very high incline every day which is very tiring 3. would like to have more options in breakfast but overall i loved to stay there
