The actual holiday was lovely. However the accommodation was not what we booked originally and was told that the photo of what we thought we had booked was just a generic one. Not very happy about that.

The chalets we were given is not what I booked. The picture in this review is what we ordered but instead we were given 2 chalets. When I questioned this I was told the picture of the one I thought i had booked was only a generic photo they used. On the booking form we were asked if we wanted ground floor or an upstairs which agsin proved we were not expecting a chalet but the house in your picture. I would like some response to this please as this is misselling.

Although the property was a basic comfort accommodation it was the perfect base for our New Year short break. (Just remember to bring your own towels as these are not included in comfort!) The property did not have all the little extras ie coffee, tea, shampoo etc as you would probably find in an owners accommodation, but for the cost over the New Year period it was extremely good VFM. The sauna and steam room were really nice and the swimming pool great too. We visited the John Paul Jones Pub, although we didn't eat there, the staff were absolutely excellent. They were attentive to everyone, friendly and professional. Clean and tidy area all around the location.

The microwave was not working in our kitchen. There were no instructions regarding how to use the oven which would help. The cleanliness of the changing room floors in the swimming area was very poor. Issues with the pool top floor covering which did look tatty, the ladies changing rooms were also in need of some tlc as part of the skirting board was hanging off. We did notice a number of street lights were not working, so it was a little dark in places !!

It’s in a great location, easy drive to nearby towns, shops etc. more comfortable than staying in a caravan as it was bigger, even had a built in wardrobe which is fab as well as a great sized bathroom and bedroom. Lovely staff and the restaurant was great. Was nice to see families coming inside with their dogs. The actual park itself was well kept and modern. Short walk to the beach although very steep. Was great for a long weekend stay, would definitely return for longer even with the dog as it seems to be extremely dog friendly.

No actual photos of the apartment from the outside, thought we were staying in the photo listed with an outside seating but this unfortunately wasn’t the case. Apartment was relatively clean although the kettle was full of limescale inside and on the spout and between the lid, could do with a descale. Slightly annoying that the bed is two singles pushed together.

Had everything we needed for a couple the shower was very good

The bed mattress was abit to springy maybe a good memory foam be better also a kitchen cupboard door was missing Cupboards over the sink well to high to get stuff out. No storage in kitchen if you do a food shop apart from small cupboard under the sink and the fridge also found was unable to open French doors in the bedroom but maybe they are ment not to unsure. Also the WiFi given was wrong we found it on the WiFi box instead I would come again n great if above was addressed

On arrival, the receptionist was very friendly. We'd had a long drive and her welcome was appreciated. Loved the look of the apartments, on the outside and inside. Comfortable furnishings. Very convenient having the washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Loved the dog gift containing toys, a blanket and a whole roll of poo bags. The park itself was spotless. We did a walk along the cliffs. There was direct access to the beach. Again, spotlessly clean!

We went to the pool twice. The first time, I felt it was too busy. I saw the life guard do a head count, so he must have thought the same.

I’ve visited before I found everything to be great I had issue with cooker being broken and response was prompt Staff v helpful Apartment was lovely and clean

I went to the pub with my grandson who suffers from Coekiac disease I asked for f there were cakes available I was told chocolate muffin I said is it gluten free Answer no Do you have gluten free Yes but I want those sold before I get fress ones out I said he can’t eat those do you have gluten free for him ? He said no I’ve said They need to go first ??? Not very supportive of a little boy with a disability The person could have said I’m sorry young man but I don’t have any until tomorrow He seemed to think the choice was chocolate or nothing In fact the choice is gluten free or none Very disappointed with the response from the senior person /manager Such ashamed as it was a big negative I didn’t include in overall rating as that wouldn’t be fair

Lovely, modern and very clean. Gave you a little pack of dishwasher tablets, a sponge, washing liquid - that was really useful. The amenities seemed to be kept to a high standard in most part. Lovely location, right outside a little play park, 2 min walk to pub/restaurant and swimming pool. Looking to book again right now 👍🏻

Very minor details, but wanted to mention them, all amenities seemed high quality except the kettle was a cheap £5 thing. Not sure if it’s a temporary arrangement but it’s one of the only things I can think of. It would be nice to have a better welcome pack, for information, like do we need to empty the bins, when we checkout do we need to bring the key back etc. and the motion sensor lights in the bathroom are a lovely touch in theory, but are very bright in the middle of the night and woke me up when partner was in the bathroom.

The decor was excellent and spotlessly clean. The village is ideally situated for a walk on the beach to Filey. The room had everything you could need to self cater. The pub the John Paul Jones was very good value for money and the pizza excellent. The 3 night stay was incredible value for money.

We requested a top floor but were given a downstairs room and the people upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants! The boiler was on 24hrs and noisy particularly at night. The walk down to the beach was challenging due to the steep decline so not for people who cannot walk easily. There was no instructions for the cooker so had to go to reception to get advice.

The property was compact, the kitchen was fairly well equipped - although needed a wooden spoon and a serrated knife for cutting bread. The bathroom was adequate with a decent shower. The heating system was excellent.

There was no mat for the bath, which made standing in it for a shower quite precarious. I was quite scared on occasion of falling over. The towels, which needed to be rented were quite soft but the “bath towel” was not much more than a tea towel. Even though it was only £6 for two hand and two bath towels for our 3 nights, I wish I’d made the space for our own towels. I was also SHOCKED at having to rent an ironing board. There wasn’t meant to be an iron in our property but one had been left behind by a previous customer. Apparently our property wasn’t of a sufficiently high standard to have an ironing board. It’s not like someone is going to stick an ironing board in their car, as you might just shove some towels in.

We love The Bay and have stayed on this site many times. We've never stayed in this accommodation before. It had everything we needed, but basic. We liked the fact it was close to the amenities and path to the beach.

Accommodation was not clean, dog hair, at least an inch thick under the sofa, skirting boards, and beds. Glass on patio doors full of marks and looked dirty. Duvet covers had blood stains on them. Complained but was just told they would inform cleaners. Thank god I took my cordless shark. Also, very minimal pots and pans. It's hard to cook a meal at times. There is nothing to hang your wet clothes on, which I've never had before.
