We've not stayed in a guest house for a while, and were not sure what to expect. Sam and Diane were very welcoming, and the room was spotless, warm, and well decorated. Breakfast was excellent. We should have booked the 8:30 slot both days, but that was nothing to worry about. The location was quiet, and we both slept well. The heating was on if needed, which is rare in May, but it helped on a cool day. Parking is on the street, and first come. We'd definitely return, and I'd recommend Athol House, unless you're disabled. It's very convenient for the town centre, and the beach. Love Filey and Athol House, after the weekend.

An incredibly comfortable and enjoyable stay. My room was on the top floor and was stylishly and very cleverly designed to make the most of the space. There were some small touches which was very considerate such as earplugs (seagulls!), multiple conveniently positioned power socket points, fresh milk delivered to your every day at 4pm. 5 mins walk to beach and town.

Athol House is an exceptional place to stay. Everything is first class from the room to the breakfasts. The room is very warm and comfortable with nothing lacking that you would want for an idyllic stay. It is very conveniently situated in Filey with shops, gardens and sea front only minutes away. I would definitely recommend it to anybody wanting to stay in Filey and explore the surrounding area!

There was nothing not to like!

The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and this has to be one of the cleanest places I've stayed in :) The owners, Diane and Sam, were friendly but not intrusive, this is an excellent B&B! The only thing that would have made it perfect would be on site parking, but due to the location of the property I don't think this can be done. There was ample on street parking during our stay in Sept 2023. Oh, and the shower was good and powerful too!

Top quality accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and efficient. We had a lovely room, great breakfast and we're only a few minutes walk to local pubs for food and drinks. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

There was some noise from seagulls but not so much as to be a problem.

Parking proved a little more challenging than we expected, but once cracked, the enjoyment began. The Athol is an exceptional establishment and without doubt the star in the dulled crown of Filey. I would not hesitate in recommending the Athol to anyone considering a trip to the Filey area.

We were made to feel very welcome and the whole place had a very high standard of cleanliness. There was a good choice for breakfast and the full English was cooked to perfection. We both felt very relaxed and comfortable all though our 3 night stay. We will be back.

The weather could have been better and we would have liked to have stayed longer!

The hosts were brilliant at communication before my stay, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Athol House, where the guests' comfort was obviously their focus. Every little detail was considered , and the location was ideal for attending gigs at the Evron Centre during the Filey Folk Festival.

Nothing, these are two experienced hosts who know exactly how to keep their guests happy!

Diane & Sam are lovely hosts, making you feel very welcome and go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. Bedroom and property are spotless and we had a very comfortable stay, great decor with attention to detail. Breakfast was amazing ! all local produce and cooked to perfection, not to mention a very good location. We will be visiting Athol again very soon. Thank you so much Diane and Sam x

Spotlessly clean. Excellent facilities. Very comfortable beds. Great location. Really welcoming & attentive host. Breakfast was good quality products presented to a high standard. Would recommend & will be returning.
