We loved our stay. This was our 2nd time being at this hotel. They gave us the same room upon request with the 2nd room just next door. They were great accommodating our dog. Pleasant and friendly little hotel in a great location for us. Will will most definitely be back.
We all loved the breakfasts, however I was a little disappointed that they did not do fried eggs this time when we stayed, which I prefer to scrambled. But won't hold that against them. The sausage and bacon is nice and there is other choices of cereals, breads, fruits and Yoghurts. The plain Yoghurt was delicious.

The hotel is in a good position for access to the beach, via the cliff lift. Facilities were as expected, clean, comfortable and entertainment in the evening if you wish. Food was good with a choice of menu and quick service.
As with other hotels at the present time the issue of staffing is a problem. On the Saturday evening, a busy time for bar and entertainment, only one member of staff was on duty behind the bar. The young man, Michael, did a fantastic job but having to wash glasses, make coffees as well as serving customers was obviously too much for one person only. I would like to commend Michael for holding the fort and keeping everyone happy working until the end of the evening and then being back on duty for breakfast on Sunday morning, still serving with a smile.

Comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. Our room had a large bay window so was nice and light. Also a large radiator kept our room warm despite the cold weather outside. We took our little dog so had to eat our breakfast in the bar area but this was no problem for us. The bar was light, airy and comfortable. Can't comment on the evening meals as we ate in a nearby pub. The floor boards creaked quite a bit, but that's the character of older buildings.
The hot water ran out for the shower on one morning but a coach party were checking early out that day so obviously lots having early showers. Soon heated up again.

The location of the hotel is excellent being within walking distance of the town centre, all the staff were lovely and very informative, polite and friendly. The beds are very comfortable and spacious. The drinks prices in the bar were surprisingly good, we expected higher prices considering the size and location.
We were in room 209 and the floor in the bathroom creaked whenever you went in, the water wasn't particularly hot, lukewarm at best, we could hear other guests through the walls and the kettle is directly under the TV which made us a bit weary of using it.

Friendly, helpful staff, loved the breakfast, plenty of it. Set you up for the day. Entertainment at night if you want it. Good location, good size room, nice outlook from our room and could even see the sea. Short walk to the cliff top and walk down to the sea front or cliff lift when open in season. Our stay was extremely good value for money. Took our little dog so ate in the bar area which is a lovely bright chilled out room. Loved our short stay there.
Paint on room walls a little tired but it was clean and comfortable especially for how reasonable it was.

The staff were absolutely superb - very helpful and on the friendly side of professional. The facilities (bedroom and toilet area) were absolutely fine and generally quite clean. The rooms were quite warm, on the comfy side as opposed to overly stuffy. The bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was simple (in a good way) and tasty. For our trip, the pricing was excellent. Location wise, this worked very well for us as we walked to most of the places we visited during the trip. There are some excellent walks and views in very short distance of the hotel, not counting the other activities and shops nearby. In the hotel itself during the evening there were events running which, while we did not attend, also lent a warm atmosphere to the entry way when we were returning!
There was an odd smell in our room - mostly quite notable when going in. We got used to it while in the room for a little while so this was not a huge negative more an oddity. It was possibly coming from outside?

Nice hotel great location ,short walk to cliff railway with views across the bay Breakfast was buffet style simple but good , friendly helpful staff on reception ,and breakfast service staff too ,, parking was no issue a good amount of spaces in private car park £6:00 per day
Ok we had a room above the bar ,with a coach party in the hotel there was bingo on the 2 nights we stayed followed by a singer ,so the room we stayed in was little noisy till 11pm ,it was ok ,The hotel itself was good .

The staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming! The hotel was overall good. A 10 on here is exceptional and I wouldn't say this hotel was that but we'd definitely be back. We enjoyed our stay and the location was great. The biggest criticism I have is the shower pressure was poor and the shower cubical size was very small. The breakfast was a buffet and it was ok, the food was fresh and hot. The coffee was a machine and it was rank, but I'm a snob when it comes to coffee!

Great to have parking on site which was worth the £6 fee to know car was secure. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. I had an iron and ironing board brought to my room within 15mins of asking. Some of the areas of the hotel have been refurbished which were lovely and shows improvements are being made. It was ideal for a visit to the Spa for a performance. The bedroom was very clean and spacious and appreciated a fan in the room.
As it is an old building it can doors and floors can be noisy plus with no double glazing noise from outside can be heard so not great for sleeping. My duvet had stains on it but I only noticed that because I stripped the bed. Personally I don't like to have to book a time for breakfast but I understand the hotel caters for coach parties. 8am was too late for me so I left early. A packet of biscuits in the room would of been nice.
