The property was in a perfect location just a short walk to the sea front and attractions. The property was clean and cosy. The owners were very welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay and recommended some restaurants to us. Breakfast was lovely each morning the staff were very attentive and shown interest in what we were doing each day even recommending us different places in York and Whitby. The room was cosy with the tv and lighting the bed was very comfortable and I slept well on both nights. It was quiet we did not hear anyone else we only saw people during breakfast. Overall a lovely family run hotel that is definitely worth the price

Very friendly small family hotel with freshly decorated, clean room and bathroom. Breakfast was perfect and provided ahead of the normal time, just for me. Much appreciated. Breakfast room has large picture windows letting in the light and giving a panoramic view of the sky and promise of sea beyond.

No evening meal available means quite a walk into town - 15 - 20 mins. Good choice of restaurants but in the dark, as a woman alone, not ideal. Only a problem for those more nervous about walking alone at night...recommend taking a torch.

Vicky and Steve are excellent hosts, very welcoming, helpful and nothing is too much trouble, their staff are also always very polite and helpful. We have stayed at The Raincliffe on three separate occasions now and would highly recommend a stay here, the full English breakfast is outstanding and well worth the stay on it's own. The hotel has excellent facilities is very clean, professionally decorated and is in fabulous location close to the beach, Spa and town centre. Lots of choice at breakfast which set us up for the day. The owners are what make this place excellent.. We would definitely recommend and will stay here again if we are in Scarborough. It is great to find accommodation which accommodates a family of 5. We had a huge bedroom and my children had their own single beds. It was refreshing to not be cramped up in a small bedroom with pullout beds. We all had a great sleep.

The lady on reception was very pleasant and made us feel welcome from the very start. Street parking cost £2 a day, managed to get parked very close to the hotel, might not be so lucky if it was busier. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment but we were offered the usual or if we wanted sandwiches for later.

Like many hotels, prices for B&B are very steep but The Raincliffe was on par with other similar hotels so can't complain. The seagulls kept us awake for most of the night, windows were open as it was so warm but apart from that we had a good stay.

The location is excellent, the hotel was extremely clean and very well presented, the hosts were very friendly, polite and helpful, they could not do enough for us during our stay. The breakfast was plentiful and excellent. We would definitely recommend the Raincliffe and we will definitely book again for our next stay in Scarborough.

The room was quiet and clean, the bathroom was clean and tidy with a shower cubicle. The water pressure was fairly low but adequate to have a shower. The mattress was very soft which was not what we were used to but still comfortable. The room was equipped with USB sockets and plenty of plug sockets etc for chargers if needed. We opted for the vegetarian breakfast which was very nice. It was all piping hot and served quickly. The coffee was of a good quality and the room was bright and clean

The coffee was just a cup poured from a communal jug, would have been nice to have coffee / tea for each table

Great hosts. The room was on the top floor and perfect for our needs. The breakfast was made to order to prevent wastage but we were not left hungry! Everything about our stay was perfect. BUT if you can't manage stairs, get a hotel with a lift. This is not for you as there are steps up to the hotel and 4 flights within. Good for step count though!

Had a lovely last minute one night stay here. Great location and only one minute drive into South Bay. Parking was fine and the hotel provides a parking permit for a small price. The room we stayed in had a double bed and three singles. The room was lovely, and had everything we required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was very nice, always a winner when they offer a full English. All in all, a lovely hotel and we will certainly be back. Many thanks.

The property was perfect, safe, spacious, rooms were perfect size and lovely decorated, clean and tidy. Couldn’t have asked for more, Simon and Sarah were perfect hosts couldn’t do enough for us. £2 pass for on street parking is fantastic value for money too as well as the price of the hotel been reasonable too!
