Very clean , staff helpful and pleasant, location was ideal for what I needed. The breakfast was amazing with brilliant service. There was just a few snags that would make the room 100% better.

Although I was aware of the traffic noise, if you’re a light sleeper like myself & don’t like using earplugs then it is noisy, also you can hear the other guests movement and talking from the surrounding rooms. Only having one bedside table and lamp is not really ideal. The table for making the brews could do with being higher as you have to get on your knees to make your drink. Also some instant coffee packets would be nice . I don’t feel the coffee in the small jar was very hygienic but nice to have filtered. A dressing table with a mirror & plug sockets would be more useful, so you can sit to do hair & makeup. A shelf in bathroom to put toiletries on would of been nice instead of just on floor.

Everything from getting the welcome check in text to arriving at the chapel house to the time we left I can't fault this hotel. The detail on the text was very informative and the step by step instructions made the arrival effortless and very straightforward. The parking is street parking but there was plenty of spaces bang outside. The room was very spacious and perfect for what we needed. It was a 10 minute walk into the town centre and a 15 minute walk down hill to the beach and sea front. The highlight had to be the breakfast it was unbelievably tasty and some much options available. It was a wonderful stay

Breakfast was superb- this is a real selling point of the hotel. The location was easy to find and for us, a perfect base to explore the east cost. Instructions and communication with owners was excellent prior to visiting and on the day. Car parking easy and reasonable. I hadn't quite realised the pool and gym were in a sister hotel but that was easy to find and there was no-one in when I attended so amazing really. Room was spacious, the bed was very comfy and bathroom shower very good. Loved the cafetiere, and fresh coffee - nice touch. Overall this hotel is exceptional value for money given the cost per night.

It was very very hot in the room when we arrived around 6.30pm from the heat of the day - however it was exceptionally hot, temperature wise, for the days we were there so in cooler times the room would be fine given that only one window opened 6 inches. There was a fan, thank goodness. Given there is no service after breakfast in the hotel for drinks etc - it would be good to have a small fridge in the room - or option to hire one, I would definitely pay extra- absolutely appreciate the owners couldn't put them in as standard.

The location as always in seaside towns lack of parking. The outside of the building was a little off putting at first sight and the hotel is unmanned, but instructions are very clear and there is a number to ring if you need assistance. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. On arrival there is a white board and you put on it the time you want breakfast. We went down to breakfast the next morning and I tell you now it was wonderful.

We didn’t really understand the on street parking, they offer a 3 hour parking pass but we needed to leave the car for 24 hours. We have asked for an explanation but we did have somewhere else to park the car.Lovely clean hotel

The room very stylish with plenty of space and a very comfy bed. The breakfast was excellent - beautifully cooked, imaginative, plentiful and tasty - and the staff very friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was stylishly decorated and modern looking.

Though thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and comfortable, our room had one or two items that felt a little unfinished - the surround of the entrance door was unfinished planks of wood and the 'door' to the toilet was a wicker folding screen, which didn't give much privacy. The lovely free standing bath didn't have a shower holder so you either soaked the surrounding floor or sat down to shower. We were disappointed that the advertised swimming pool was several streets away in a separate property - not what you want when it's raining!

Great communication from owners explaining self check in process and regulations for parking. Everything went according to plan. Parking spot just outside and necessary permit to hand. Lovely room. Quite large, warm and well decorated. Bathroom same. Both rooms spotlessly clean. Bed large and comfortable. TV, and facilities for making hot drinks. Ear plugs provided if required for seagulls etc - didn't bother us. Lovely nights sleep. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast. 20 minute steady stroll down onto seafront. All in all a very enjoyable stay and well worth the money. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing - everything exceeded our expectations.

We chose the hotel for its location being quite close to sea. Off street parking was always available using either a free disc for 3 hours or a 2-day pass for £8; both available from the hotel Spacious room with a large comfortable bed. Very good English breakfast served by friendly staff.

The adjacent main road was noisy as the hotel does not have double glazing. It was quite breezy and one of the old sash windows let in a draughts causing the blinds to rattle adding to the noise. The toilet door latch was broken so we had to use the waste bin to keep it shut.

The single bed in our room was a metal framed guest bed with elastic as springs it was uncomfortable for my son hes 13 in mens L clothes 6ft tall a divan would have been better..the bed in our room was huge so we all shared ours instead and got a nice sleep..the bacon at breakfast was streaky bacon which is mostly fat not back bacon which l couldn't eat after having a stroke and instead of the vine tomatoes tinned would be much nicer...oh and the pool table should be free for guests to use not £1 a game lm sure for £160 a night it should be free however we still enjoyed our stay

Everything was fantastic. There honestly wasn't anything that I could pick fault with. Andy and his family that run is hotel are the most opening, down to earth people you could meet. Talk about accommodating, as there's no fridge in the room. We had to speak to Andy regarding my child's medication needing one. He made this so easy for us, and when we needed it at different times within our stay, it was never a problem at all. This was even to the point of him revolving his time around us. This family that runs the hotel are amazing people, even down to the 9 year old who helps server breakfast. To summarise, breakfast is lovely, all the staff are amazing, room great size, clean and comfortable. Pool, sauna, hottub brilliant. Honestly, Chapel House is the place to stay in Scarborough. 110% I would stay again.

The only little idea I would put forward is to have a mini fridge in the room. In our case, though, it is more because of a medical reason. This would have saved Andy (the owner) going out of his way for us. Which I would add was fantastic on his part, completely worked his time around us. 🙌

Was first a little unsure about booking due to some negative reviews but my word, I couldn't disagree more. Check in so easy with clear instructions for self check in. Communication with owners was so easy. Location is on a main street and owners kindly provided ear plugs but these were not needed. Room was clean and tidy and communal areas spotless. The breakfast was absolutely worth the stay alone!! Porridge is an absolute necessity to try ❤️ Owners absolutely wonderful and must say a huge thank you on behalf on my son too. Being autistic it can be difficult for him to settle in front of strangers but he was made to feel so welcome and even played tunes on the piano for everyone. Would definitely stay again 😁
