Superb room, very clean and comfortable. No phone signal but WiFi worked brilliantly so no issues. Great bathroom with bath and shower, plenty of towels. Fan provided too which was great as it was very hot during my stay, cooled the room nicely. Very nicely furnished, bed extremely comfortable with crisp white sheets, tv with radio and coffee/tea facilities. Can’t fault it at all.

This is my second time at The Grand this year and again it's faultless. I feel for the capacity they handle check in very well and always give great customer service, we dealt with Salvera and she was top class. So helpful and welcoming, exactly what defines great hospitality. As well as the rest of the staff. Superb. Our room was lovely and sufficient with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean. You cannot fault this hotel for the location it's incredible! The terrace views are fabulous to spend a morning having a coffee and watching the ocean. You are right next to the tramway with helps avoid stairs for those who cannot climb them. The history of the property it's outstanding and so interesting, when people are complaining it's outdated, they need to go stay in a travelodge or generic hotel which is newly built. I'd hate to see this beautiful property turned into a carbon copy of a cheap IKEA catalogue. I love it's charm. And yes there us wear and tear, but it's a building from 1867! And it's massive! And trust me if a bit of chipped paint or worn carpet is going to ruin your stay, I think you haven't prioritised correctly. This hotel is so good value for money, it's so helpful to be able to take my family somewhere so amazing and actually be able to afford it without worrying. Anyone complaining about the price needs to go to London or any other touristic city in UK and compare. Can't even get a shared form hotel in London for the price of a room at the Grand. Overall another perfect stay and cannot wait to return soon. Thanks again everyone

Great location, super room.

Going by the bad reviews of this hotel me and my friend booked a night for a bit of a giggle expecting it to be dreadful. The joke was on us as it was surprisingly really lovely. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and our room with a sea view was really clean and the bed was super comfy. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath and a shower. Everything was lovely and the whole room looked as if it had recently been refurbished The seagulls were a bit cheeky, nearly coming into the room through the open window one even let me pet it.

I've stayed here a few times in the past couple of years and I was very impressed with the room standard this time, well done to the staff

The location of the hotel is excellent. The room had everything we needed and it was big enough for myself, my daughter and our dog. It was nice that there was an option of 2 different types of tea bags. And they were a good brand too. There was an ironing board, a fan and a hairdryer in the room, which was handy for anyone wanting to use them. I liked that we had a bath and an over the bath shower as well. We stayed for 2 nights and it's great that we got a discount for the parking at the nearby carpark. This was another stay at the Grand that we enjoyed.

There was just one small fault and that was that there was a clump of hair inside the wardrobe.

The hotel certainly lives up to its name "The Grand" The interior is beautiful, with much of the original features remaining. Also liked the piano music playing which matched the ambience, and the fragrance in the entrance. The food was very good, with many choices at breakfast and evening meal. The room spacious and very clean. All the staff were friendly and cheerful.

The sun terrace was a disgrace, covered in bird poo, on the tables, chairs and floor. I know that smokers are the pariahs in society, but they deserve better than this. Maybe there is a shortage of staff to deal with this continuing problem, but there was not any effort to clean any of it. It may even be classed as a health risk? The wooden chairs were quite unstable and wobbly there too. The singe bed in room 449 was a bit unstable and the mattress needed changing .

Impressive Victorian architecture, grand public rooms.New carpets and decor in a lot of areas .Staff were friendly, the Standard room was clean and tidy.Room only so can't comment on food.

This time of year seabirds are nesting all round the ledges and make a racket 24/7.Take earplugs! Nothing the hotel can do about it as they are protected species.Prompted to check in on line but you still have to queue at reception to show photo ID and collect the key. On line it gave check in time as 2 pm and check out 11 am but reception insisted it was 3 pm and 10 am.Costs £10 to check in early if room available.Be aware rooms are not serviced during multiple night stays.

1st time staying at the Grand Hotel and it won't be the last!! The building is absolutely stunning!! So many different areas to chill and a have a drink. The roof top terrace was a favourite. Lots of entertainment at night, starting off with a film for the children, bingo, live entertainment or music also a games area for the children(pool table, air hockey, and a vending machine) Our family room was spacious, clean and beds were comfy. Cleaners don't come into your room, so if your bin needs emptying just leave it outside your room door.( I only mentioned this because I read reviews of people moaning about beds not being made and their bins were over flowing) It's easy enough to make the bed yourself and throw your own rubbish away. Fantastic location and a great leg workout every day walking up and down the steps to the beach (sooo many steps) 🤣 Staff were all extremely nice and helpful.

Cashless bar is a big no from us!!
