This is my second time at The Grand this year and again it's faultless. I feel for the capacity they handle check in very well and always give great customer service, we dealt with Salvera and she was top class. So helpful and welcoming, exactly what defines great hospitality. As well as the rest of the staff. Superb. Our room was lovely and sufficient with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean. You cannot fault this hotel for the location it's incredible! The terrace views are fabulous to spend a morning having a coffee and watching the ocean. You are right next to the tramway with helps avoid stairs for those who cannot climb them. The history of the property it's outstanding and so interesting, when people are complaining it's outdated, they need to go stay in a travelodge or generic hotel which is newly built. I'd hate to see this beautiful property turned into a carbon copy of a cheap IKEA catalogue. I love it's charm. And yes there us wear and tear, but it's a building from 1867! And it's massive! And trust me if a bit of chipped paint or worn carpet is going to ruin your stay, I think you haven't prioritised correctly. This hotel is so good value for money, it's so helpful to be able to take my family somewhere so amazing and actually be able to afford it without worrying. Anyone complaining about the price needs to go to London or any other touristic city in UK and compare. Can't even get a shared form hotel in London for the price of a room at the Grand. Overall another perfect stay and cannot wait to return soon. Thanks again everyone

1st time staying at the Grand Hotel and it won't be the last!! The building is absolutely stunning!! So many different areas to chill and a have a drink. The roof top terrace was a favourite. Lots of entertainment at night, starting off with a film for the children, bingo, live entertainment or music also a games area for the children(pool table, air hockey, and a vending machine) Our family room was spacious, clean and beds were comfy. Cleaners don't come into your room, so if your bin needs emptying just leave it outside your room door.( I only mentioned this because I read reviews of people moaning about beds not being made and their bins were over flowing) It's easy enough to make the bed yourself and throw your own rubbish away. Fantastic location and a great leg workout every day walking up and down the steps to the beach (sooo many steps) 🤣 Staff were all extremely nice and helpful.

Cashless bar is a big no from us!!

Great location! Grand Hotel had wonderful views and areas to relax ! Super grand stairway!

We only had two plug sockets…one for the tv and one for the fridge…so we had to do a lot of juggling to charge up our phones & fitbit watches! The water for a shower was dangerously red hot…so had to have a bath which takes longer and uses more water! The radiators came on which are certainly not needed now at this time of year! In the room there was no hooks for coats …no towel rails …… A lot of space wasted which could make better storage use or hanging space. The wardrobe was small…enough to hang about six items….then had a fan and iron inside….which again if you want to use …..you would have to unplug tv or fridge!

I loved the room I was in. It was clean. On the sea front. The building is beautiful the staff are accommodating. Almost not there when you don't need them and there when you do. It's a hard Ballance but they achieved it well. There is nightly entertainment and lots of places to sit. There's coffee and tea. The bathrooms seemed nice and clean to me and the beds were decent. The views were great

The breakfast wasn't amazing nor was the dinner. the dinner veg were overcooked The chicken was unappetising. The bacon at breakfast stank and not in a good way. I had a bite and vowed never again. The scrambled eggs looked like the chef had just given up. But otherwise decent

The staff were lovely and friendly, especially the bar staff and the lady in the dining hall. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable to sleep in. The room was clean, warm and had a great sea view .

The only issue is the lack of plug sockets, there were only 3 sockets and one was used for the mini fridge so we could only use the plug for the TV or kettle to charge our phones, which wasn't a problem as we took turns but it could be an idea to put more in so guests can use the TV and charge their phones too.

The staff were amazing. Very cheerful, very welcoming, very helpful, way beyond what we expected. Our room was clean and smelt fresh. Clean towels. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the food and the staff in the dining are great, I must say excellent service by staff in the dining. The view is amazing, sea view while dining. The kids enjoyed. Best location. We all enjoyed our stay at the Scarbrough Grand. And Scarborough people are lovely. The lobby is clean, very antique. It was safe for us. We loved it. We had a sea view room. We also had a sea gull visit our window every morning to say goodmorning, it stayed for atleast half an hour. The kids loved it. They had a new pet bird. Ofcourse it was on the otherside of the window couldn't fly in, we just watch it. It was lovely.

The doors in the room we stayed in need some DIY.

I went for a 5 day solo trip. Had no problem at all with the staff, the bar staff were nice people. My room was on the bottom floor, which I opted for the cheapest with no window as I didn't mind. And the bed was so comfortable, clean. The bath had water jets. High pressure water and quickly heated(maybe to do with being bottom floor) and just overall really Authentic classic place. I've seen complaints about certain things but it's a hotel built in the 1800's it isn't going to be a 5* luxury modern complex. But no besides not being able to tune the sound on the TV. No complaints

Not being able to tune the sound on the TV haha. It's so big deal obviously but thay genuinely one thing I wish I could do haha

Too often people read and take in the bad reviews first. To a point, I did too! I decided to look up the history of the Hotel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Kbu70a5Np8 then my jaw dropped to the floor and I felt I needed to stay even if for just one night to make up my own mind. The Hotel is Huge and the staff first rate.

Nothing wrong with the place! You will Love your stay! TRUST ME!

My daughter and I stayed here with our dog. We had a room down in the basement with no window. And it was a very good room. It was a nice size and so was the bathroom. It had a jacuzzi bath, although it didn't work. But I loved the size of the bath and it had little ledges on the sides to rest your arms, which I liked. There was everything we needed. Toiletries (which smelt beautiful), towels, tea coffee facilities, a good size tv, 3 chairs, a wardrobe with wooden hangers, a fan. The room was quite warm throughout the night but I can't sleep with a fan on. We were very happy with our stay.
