We really enjoyed our stay it was very near to the beach, pubs, cafes, shops and train station. Ideal if you like to be smack bang in the middle of everywhere! We really enjoyed the breakfast every morning fantastic staff waiting the tables and no complaints about any of the food. The cleaner did a great job every day when we were out and about. The bathroom was excellent 👌 and clean 🪥

No air con there was a fan, but it was rubbish just blew warm air haha 😆 maybe could look into adding basic air con in the future as sleeping was difficult. No fridge which limited what we could buy when out and about, so maybe could look into adding mini fridges in rooms. To be honest it was the first hotel we'd stayed in during the past few years where there wasn't a fridge. The lift wasn't great 😃 needs automatic doors as we got told off for not closing the doors properly, so we just used the stairs after that. (Manual doors.) Other than that had a brilliant few days and the staff were all fantastic 😍 only complaints from us are some things that need adding and bringing up to date.

We stayed just one night at the wonderful Riviera Town House, and it felt like stepping back into the era of young Queen Elizabeth! Although the building itself is old, this only adds to its authenticity and elegance. From our room, we enjoyed breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the seaside, with all amenities within walking distance of the hotel. We were especially impressed by the cleanliness of the room, with genuinely fresh bedding and towels (thankfully without any unwanted marks), a well-stocked tea tray, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were lovely and gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. Highly recommended!

Great breakfast in lovely laid out room with stairs down to it. Decor overall was nice and in good order. Very comfortable. Location was good and next to other hotels and the town centre.

Absolutely a lovely place, but note no bar. Not a problem as plenty of bars, restaurants on the door step. Bathroom clean, but it could do with a refurbishment. The old fashioned style lift may be noisy if you have a room near it, with opening and closing of it's doors.

The hotel location was ideal with easy access to the sea front via the lift tram around the corner and a short walk from various places to eat in the evening. The beds were very comfortable and the room had a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The breakfast was also delicious! :-)

It would have been nice to have a bottle of water each rather than one small bottle to share. Note: there is a shop a short walk away to get more water or other supplies if required. Finding a parking space was a bit of a challenge, but there are plenty of options available as advised in the property details.

Loved the old time charm of a traditional bed and breakfast. The building is Georgian and they have done well to adapt it.Room was a perfect size for one night. Spacious bathroom (with a bath)! No aircon (die to age of building) but a fan was provided and windows that open. The breakfast was fabulous, plenty of choice and amazing staff to serve it up with such a pleasant manner. Good old fashioned customer service at its best!

Nothing, it was all good

Location excellent. Good choices on the breakfast menu all ingredients cooked to perfection and served by very attentive and friendly staff. Housekeeping was excellent. Never had better bath towels, huge and fluffy.

Thought the room was rather small and somewhat claustrophobic. While the breakfast was good, I thought it was overpriced. No bar.

Clean, comfortable, big room, lovely blackout curtains, ironing board & iron in room, hot drink selection and water in room, big bathroom and decent shower, large bath towels, nice lighting, storage, earplugs, WiFi.

It was really noisy throughout the night of drunk people outside which is no fault of the hotel but worth mentioning as it was loud. Also floor boards creaking and doors shutting within the hotel as people were getting in late as it is an old building but as said above earplugs are provided if you can/will wear them.

The Riviera is absolutely charming - a true old-fashioned genteel guesthouse. Spotlessly clean, fantastically comfortable bed, great view across to the Grand Hotel from the front, and brilliant location for discovering Scarborough. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, with proper waitress service for breakfast which was super. Lovely place, highly recommended.

Perfect Location, lots of history to this 200 year old hotel. The elevator was so unique and the lounge was really inviting even though we didn't have time to use it. The guy at the counter was very friendly and informative and also spotted him making the breakfast the next day which was really nice. Can tell its a really hard working hotel.
