Our room. Very spacious bedroom and bathroom, equipped with a fridge. Breakfast was very good.. architecture and furnishings. View.

Broken lift. No direction from reception staff on how to get to our 4th floor room, using the alternative lift that took us to the other end, our room number was not sign posted from there. Were not told it was a buffet style evening meal. Couldn't work the coffee machine

Ideal location for a music event at the Spa, but also 2 mins walk to the bustling town centre and 5 mins to the sea front. Tidy and clean, staff polite and welcoming, facilities in room as expected. Lovely old building with some beautiful features ie staircase. Has had improvements since I last stayed a few years ago.

For what we paid it is what we expected, would love to see the tired hallways done up properly, but appreciate its a balancing act with the old character hotels in a northern seaside resort. Would stay again regardless.

rooms were only cleaned once a week. After paddling I dropped sand on the bathroom floor and had to get down on my ...knees to clear it (i`m 98 years old. I couldn`t order wine in the dining room and had to get up and go to the bar to fetch it difficult while using a walking stick there was a havy door up a slope difficult to manage with a thge liuft door sometimes wouldn`t open and lift anbd main dorrs were once clsed making access difficult

The room was on the top floor, a bit of a hike but well worth it for the views from the windows . The room was comfortable and was adequate for our needs . Value for money , the Hotel has a wonderful entrance with a vaulted celing , the staff were polite and helpful . The location was perfect for us , near to town the centre and the facilities there. Parking was oposite in council run carpark , discounted daily parking ticket availible from reception. we stayed for two days and left the car parked and used the hop on hop of tour bus which id £4 per day and great value as it covers all the beaches. The breakfast was good , buffet style with plenty of choices . We enjoyed our short break , good price and value for money.

The pool and spa facilities are extra but not too expensive with a day pass. I dont have any negative comments as our stay was value for money.

The small trip to the beach. Very friendly staff and my little boy loved the swimming pool. Coffee house was nice and lady was friendly who worked there. Enjoyed the exercise and entertainment was enough for us so I could get my son to sleep.. Enjoyed our stay..Was really happy that a got a small fridge which was perfect for my type 1 diabetic boy to store things.

Nothing really. Curtain was down in room but guy on reception did offer to fix it. Would be lovely if you could order room service in future. Was a little bit disappointed that the coffee house didn't do a full English breakfast..

Location was good

Went to the bar to get some wine no staff a notice saying to go to reception for service two staff on there one customer was told someone would be there in two minutes waited another ten minutes which I was joined by two others also waiting to be served went back to reception and was told someone would be there when there was time to do bar work i found this very rude so a loss of customers as me and my husband left the bar and so did the others and retreated to the pub down the road we had been out all day and wanted to relax in the lounge as for my score on staff in general good but those two on reception on Saturday the 5th of October was poor

The internal design and layout of staircases and balconies with rooms off are very pleasing to the eye. The whole place has an uplifting, comfortable feel about it when going into the ground floor. The room, 210, is very comfortable regarding, size, decorations and furniture. Our third stay at the Royal and we will be back again soon.

The swimming pool in the basement is small, so not large enough for serious swimming. However, if the jacuzzi were to be reinstalled, then it would be ideal for chilling out. A limited number of guests can be allowed in at any one time. The steam room was not available while we were there. Which was a shame because we were looking forward to it.

Fabulous location, it is such a beautiful old building. The room was luxuriously furnished. The staircase, the view, the seaside, it is a special hotel experience.

It would be impossible to fault it for the price paid. It was a memorable stay. The one thing to mention is that the restaurant did not cope well with the half board dinner option as the tour groups ate early, food was not refreshed and items were no longer available. Gluten free options are scarce but one could be found upon request. There are many restaurants within walking distance of this lovely hotel.

The overall stay was good, stayed many times before and this stay was spot on Again, Cheers!!!!!

Well a lot more cleaning in the room, bathroom and lounge type room we had, finger nails on the carpets, the bathroom basin and taps needed cleaning ,properly, a toilet brush is definitely needed ,cleaning around the walls directly in front of the bathroom basin, marks around tea making area and kettle, mmmm, think i have said enough for now , great place but a lot - some more time needed on relatively small things that a bit more time and care would easily sort it all out, Thanks , Michael and LYNN.

The Royal hotel is a besutiful oldHotel that as I write this is being painted & decorated....it must be quite old but is great value for money, a little tired in parts but obviously the tired parts are being sorted out....its busy serving food and entertainment, we have a lovely big double room comfortable with everything we need, and Im sure when we come back next year it will be back to its glory days....perfect location our room looks out to sea, Just perfect 🥰

Just a little tired in the bathroom, very clean, as I said, the Hotel is having a makeover as I write.
