The Great Malvern Hotel was in a fantastic location for accessing the hills and close to all the restaurants, cafes, pubs and other amenities in the town. The hotel was very clean and our room and en-suite was far larger than other hotels we’ve stayed in. There was a lift as there are 3 floors to the hotel. This was greatly appreciated as our room was on the 3rd floor and after 15 miles walking across the hills it was very much appreciated. The breakfasts were superb with so much choice. The avocado mash on sourdough with poached eggs is a must have!! We thought it a lovely touch to have a round chocolate on our bed on arrival. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and were very informative about the area and the best walks to go on. We had a wonderful 4 day stay here and cannot recommend it enough.
Everything was perfect, there were no negatives at all.

The staff were exceptional. They couldn’t do enough for you. For example we were there for RHS Malvern. They suggested using the free shuttle bus rather than drive; something we hadn’t considered. They also checked that we had booked a meal with them as this was a busy time. They were prepared to make suggestions otherwise. We did preempt this and had booked with them. The food (including the breakfast) was excellent. They even offered a separate menu for Asparagus, which was locally grown & in season. They also had a good selection of real ales. We were really pleased with our stay and would certainly consider staying with them again.

It's never clear to me what the difference is between 3 and 4 star hotels, but this hotel seems exceptional for 3 stars and better than many 4-star hotels in which I've stayed. An historic early-Victorian building in Malvern, there are highly informative leaflets on its history available at Reception. But the most important thing is that this is a family run hotel with character and personality, not part of an anaemic corporate chain. The staff were helpful and engaged, the rooms thoughtfully left with good beverages and biscuits, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom had clearly been recently renovated to a high standard. The breakfast was superb, one of the very best full-English breakfasts I've had in a British hotel, with excellent ingredients, and passing the 'decent sausage' test. I really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
Nothing!

My room was a good size with large en suite . Clean and comfortable with television, small fridge and tea/coffee making facility. Breakfast was excellent. Multiple choices and perfectly cooked. Friendly, helpful staff. It is situated in a good central position- only 2 minutes walk to the Theatre. Malvern and the surrounding hills are well worth visiting.
All good. Maybe the steps at the front make it a little difficult to pull luggage up, but that can't be changed. I'm sure that if you had difficulty, they would allow you to enter the side door, or help with luggage.

A lovely warm welcome - all explained clearly to us - had already parked the car. We were leaving really early the next day so Sophie arranged for us to have a bacon butty and added a banana each. Helped us find a restaurant for the evening as, sadly the hotel restaurant closed on Sunday. The Studio room was actually an apartment and had everything you could wish for - views, space, clean and comfortable. It was, in comparison to many hotels, very cheap too - especially for a bank holiday
We could not fault it

The Great Malvern is without a shadow of a doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at; it is everything a hotel should be - and then much more. The building itself is lovely - traditional, timeless, beautifully carpeted in old fashioned style, cosy and homely yet with more than a touch of magnificence. We were lucky enough to stay in The Hideaway which is a beautiful spacious self-contained apartment at the very top of the building furnished with some wonderful and sometimes unusual (loved the wardrobe with the curtain!) pieces of vintage furniture, all very well cared for. This combined with the luxury of the powerful modern shower and great TV provision made it the most comfortable and enjoyable place to unwind and relax - it really did feel like a home away from home. The previous year was the first time we’d stayed here and the room we stayed in then was also very cosy and well appointed. The view from the hotel is great as you can see the Malvern hills looking down high above the town, very cool indeed. As if all this was not enough, the owners of the property Jeremy and Rani (and Beckie, Jeremy’s daughter who works there too) are just the most hospitable people, going out of their way to ensure that your stay is the best it can possibly be - for example we had said that we planned on going to the theatre one evening and they organised some discounted tickets for us, very much appreciated. All the other staff without exception were very friendly and helpful too. Breakfast is a treat here, a wide variety of choice to cater to every taste, plentiful and very tasty, all served by the owners and family themselves and others with the utmost politeness and friendliness. The relaxing music played in the breakfast room also adds greatly to the experience. The food in The Nook, the hotel’s restaurant, and in the hotel’s pub is very good too, would absolutely recommend.
Nothing - everything was exceptional.

The hotel itself is a short walk from the station and from the start of the hills themselves, with plenty of shops cafes and restaurants nearby. The inside has a very nice cosy feel to it. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was spacious and had quite traditional and warm decoration, while the bathroom -also had a lot of room- was very modern and stylish. Having a corner room [Number 1] also meant two window views of Malvern and its countryside. The room also had a chest of drawers, desk, and wardrobe so good space to store a few days' clothes etc. And the large radiator plus the towel rail quickly heat the room - very welcome as it gets colder outside! I have to have a paragraph for the breakfast. I've stayed at pricier hotels that provide a mediocre buffet, or no breakfast. This hotel has a breakfast room with a lovely atmosphere, with a varied menu of cereal, fruit, yogurt, individual hot breakfast items, and plates like eggs benedict and avocado on toast, along with tea, coffee, juice. I liked the extra touches of tea served in a teapot and coffee served in a cafetiere. As soon as we sat down we were offered a drink, and food orders were taken as quick as we wanted. Food was prepared and served quickly, and it was delicious. I'll almost certainly return to Malvern, and when I do I'll definitely stay here again.
There is a little bit of traffic noise in the morning which can't be helped being near Malvern's main roads. For me, breakfast being served until 9 was a little more rushed than I'm used to.

This really is an unexpected gem of a hotel, with several small rooms, bar, snug, etc, which are welcoming and quirky! We waited at an empty reception for just a few minutes to check in. Our bedroom was spacious and airy with a large bathroom with walk in shower. The hotel is spotlessly clean.
The only negative for me was my lunch. My wife plumped for sea bass and raspberry tart with custard which she said was delicious. Unfortunately, I selected steak and ale pie which had obviously been left beneath a heat lamp as it had dried out, although the taste was lovely, followed by a rather dry American cheesecake. The only other negative was a lumpy pillow (but I'm sure that would have been changed had I asked).

The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean and generously equipped with a good selection of drinks, biscuits and even sweets on the hospitality tray. The bathrooms were modern with lovely showers. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was superb, served with a smile and good humour from the proprietor! We were pleased that the location was very close to the theatre where our daughter was singing and not far from the station. The staff were all very polite and nothing was too much trouble. We had a delicious meal on our first night, but the restaurant was full booked on the Friday night so it is advisable to book well in advance, although the proprietor kindly recommended another place to eat
We liked everything.

Location - near the beginning of the path up to Worcesteshire Beacon and lots of good shops and Waitrose. They have parking right next to the hotel. Had a twin room which was large and with a large bathroom with a bath. The breakfast was good - quality ingredients, a real choice of full English but also bagels with smoked salmon, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce etc. Good quality comfortable mattress and bedding. Two Indian restaurants very close by! Very happy with our stay.
Well, it could have cost less, but I'm not complaining, and it is probabaly a fair price for what we got. I clicked on a link from the email they sent which seemed to direct me to a public car park about 10 mins walk away. So I paid £4 for the first 24 hours. But when we got to the hotel they said they had a car park right next to the hotel, so we moved the car to there and that was free.
