Very comfortable room with a huge bed and adequate shower room. Host was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was £10 for a full Scottish with cereal and lovely fresh fruit. Good value and very tasty. Nice sized telly (not that we watched it), bigger than in some similar places.

Last check in is 9pm which seems a little early when travelling after work from Edinburgh. Phoned host and she agreed to let us arrive up to 9:30 after which the doors would be locked and we would have to find somewhere else. But it all worked out fine and we were able to get a pizza in the local pub rather than a chippy in Aviemore as we had planned.

Owners friendly and helpful. Good communication. Location excellent. Room comfortable and this time we made sure to book a room with an ensuite shower (we didn't like having just a freestanding bath in the bedroom last year - too difficult to use shower attachment without spraying everywhere!) which was good. The drinks in the room were good and the large TV excellent. The breakfast (pay extra) was good - especially appreciate the fresh fruit, and my husband loved his cooked breakfast.

We didn't like the breakfast coffee - hard to know why, as it was filter coffee in a cafetiere which we plunged after a good wait as usual - possibly boiling water poured on to scald it rather than recently boiled? Or maybe just the water locally wasn't to our taste for coffee!

Clean and spacious room. Sue and Steve are excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. They even allowed us to eat our takeaway in the dining room. The full Scottish breakfast was EXCELLENT.

Sue was welcoming & friendly. Very comfortable bed in a quiet, good value B&B. Breakfast was very good. Avondale House is a great base for exploring the area. There was lots of tourist information/leaflets available in the hall.

We spent very little time in the house but there didn’t appear to be anywhere to sit/read other than one desk/dining chair in the bedroom.

Great place to stay to access very interesting sights, e.g. Highland Wildlife Park and the Highland Folk Museum. The hosts were very nice and friendly. The room was clean and well prepared. Especially the bed was comfortable. Parking was possible directly in front of the house which is ideal if you travel by car. We were even able to book a spontaneous and very delicious breakfast.

Very comfortable bed!! Loved having the pet cat and dog in the house as we are big pet lovers. I should also mention the tropical fish tank too.

It was all good and the only thing I would say is that the shower was not wall mounted. The bathroom looked as though it was retiled very recently which was lovely so this was maybe still to be done. But this a very minor issue and we would have no hesitation in booking here again.

Welcomed at the door by Sue. Plenty of parking. Best porridge in the morning with a taste of Whisky and Honey, hubby had a full cooked. Massive bed. Both Steve and Sue were very friendly and gave great local info. Would definitely go back.

There wasn't alot to not like. Lovely wee town. Expensive Indian restaurant.

The description of the room could have been more clear, especially in the German Booking.com description. Described was "private bathroom", in fact it was a bath in the room itself.

I really enjoyed staying at Avondale and I had a lovely clean room with a very comfortable bed, I slept so well. Breakfast is additional at £9.50 with a good choice of things to choose from and the hot food I had was very good. Sue and Steve are great hosts and it was lovely to meet their cats and gorgeous dog. It's only a few minutes walk to both the centre of the village and the train station. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was very clean, breakfast was terrific and we liked the huge fish tank and dog. Area was quiet and peaceful. Host recommended seeing the barracks just down the road which was amazing.

Some of the rooms are not for guest use so my feedback would be to have these doors closed because they don’t give the right impression
