The building itself and that the spa is easily accessible . We like that there are complimentary drinks . The building smells nice and clean. Food in the restaurant was good.
When we checked in , it says at the reception that spa treatment was reduced from £124 to £55, but when we inquired at the spa itself they looked surprised about it then said it’s not available .Also, upon check in at the reception , the lady said she’s busy - not even attempting to make us feel like she will be tending to us soon or even called her colleagues . Good thing the colleague appeared and helped us , she was very cheerful compared to the other lady who made us feel like we are not customers.

A beautiful building with lovely grounds. The room was a good size and nice and clean. Comfortable bed. A little bit of corridor noise, but our room was far enough away from the main rooms where there were functions on both nights and we didn’t hear them. Excellent position to explore the local area.
Good selection for continental breakfast. However, pastries felt like they had been out a while. Not a huge selection on hot buffet and both mornings, having gone at different times, the food was lukewarm and had also been out a while. Reception staff were friendly but didn't seem particularly interested, there was no apology when we returned cleaning equipment staff had left in our room. On check out, we were asked if we'd had a good stay, when we said ok we weren't asked if there had been any problems or why just ok. Didn't use the spa or restaurant.

we were initially placed in a downstairs superior double room as we were expecting, the interior of the room was fine however we found the room was located on the direct path to the gym and there was quite o lot of people walking past en route to the gym that we could see and who could clearly see into our room. My husband went to ask in reception if we might be moved to an alternative room as we were staying 2 nights for my birthday and did not feel we could open our curtains without passers by looking in. The girls on reception desk on Thursday 27th March were absolute angels! they moved us and we were placed in room 106 which was an upstairs suite. It was without doubt amazing; thank you so much to those girls!!! In addition the food in the restaurant was superb, great choice for breakfasts and overall the staff were brilliant. Thank you.
there was nothing to improve upon other than we should have stayed for longer !!!!

Loved the seclusion of the hotel and the general ambience provided. The room we had was comfortable and clean. The evening restaurant staff were informal, polite and friendly. The food was good quality and well presented. Breakfast staff were also polite and friendly and itcwas good to see fried bread available alongside well cooked sausages! Most welcome when having a holiday breakfast.
Although comfortable, our bathroom needed a slight bit of attention. The soap dispenser over the bath/shower leaked staining the wall and the silicone around the tile was not secure. Also, the door yo the bathroom had warped and would not close properly. A personal dislike is the lack of standards of dress for dinner in the evening (no ties, fine but trainers jeans and T shirts? Hmmmm??).

Ignore the bad reviews! This really exceeded my expectations everything was perfect! The room was lovely with a complimentary mini bar and bath robes. Spa facilities were fantastic and I had the best deep tissue massage (I have been a massage therapist 10 years and I would rate this massage one of the very best ever). The evening meal was incredible I had the salmon and my sister had the fillet of lamb and said it was one of the best hotel meals she has ever had. Reece our waiter was so attentive and friendly we loved his vibe. Breakfast was great and had a huge variety. We all slept great and loved the feel of the hotel. I really don’t know why people are moaning we had the best night away as a group of 5 girls mother and daughters. Thanks so much we will be back!
I have no complaints

The property had some lovely grounds, the rooms were spacious and the separation for different meals from breakfast to dinner was a nice change. The golf range was definitely worth visiting alongside a coaching session by the amazing James. Oliver remembered us each day from breakfast to dinner and looked after us.
Couple of maintenance issues, sink was blocked on third night, wardrobes creaked a little and then we had issue with flickering light, the bed was a little hard especially as it’s two singles combined into one so the gap was obvious.

This was our second visit to the hotel. The staff really make this place. They are all so lovely and happy to be there. Very helpful, friendly and efficient. The hotel is just gorgeous, and it is kept to such a high standard.
We had a slight issue on our stay, nothing to do with the hotel or staff at all, completely out of their control with the neighbours. I went to reception in the early hours, and Ben was so fantastic in helping me, even at 3am in the morning. He arrived at the reception very quickly, spoke to me very calmly and he dealt with the issue at hand, he was up to the floor he was needed on in no less than three minutes. I have been to other hotels where the managers at night were nowhere to be seen and then do nothing about it. I cannot thank Ben enough for how he dealt with everything. It's changed us from not going back to can't wait to visit again. Fantastic hotel and team

I called ahead to book an evening meal for my daughter's 19th birthday and explained the occasion. The staff member on the phone was incredibly polite and attentive, noting all the details. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a delightful surprise: a 'Happy Birthday' balloon, a card from management, and a chocolate gift. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special, especially since my daughter is away at university in Leeds. The hotel staff were lovely and courteous, and the room was amazing. I would definitely love to stay again and spend more time at this fantastic hotel!
Nothing to note

The food and service in the Carverley grill was great. The room was comfortable and a pleasant surprise for the price to be honest - it was quiet and very clean.
The spa staff were not very helpful. Seemed a bit put out by being asked anything - the bar closed at 6pm and we had to ask for service as the staff stood chatting at the spa desk. There are no loungers around the pool so not very relaxing for a spa sitting on arm chairs. I hadn’t pre booked a treatment and so when I arrived on the Saturday evening the girl behind the desk asked me to come down and ask if any cancellations on the Sunday as that can sometimes happen - which I did but the girl behind the desk didn’t even look and just said no cancellations very abruptly and rude. You also don’t get a gown or slippers like at other spas which I haven’t experienced at other spas before.

Room was nice and clean, the hotel staff were very friendly, especially Chris in the bar. Breakfast was really good with proper greek yoghurt and a big selection of bread. Hot breakfast was okay, but the fried eggs were quite stagnant from being under hotplate, in which case scrambled egg would have been better. Spa was lovely but be aware there will be children in pool areas so it is not quiet! The sauna was nice and hot. The bathroom had a heated mirror so you could get ready in the evening. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, the hotel and its surrounding areas are clearly very well maintained.
Bathroom felt outdated. The dinner felt like poor value for money.. we had a chicken risotto and the tomato penne. Chicken risotto was a small portion and very very bland, not worth 21.50 at all, the penne tasted like nothing special. With a drink each, a shared starter and a main each the bill was over £60. I thought the menu at the lounge looked nicer but other guests told us it wasn't too great either. On top of this there was no one asking how the food was in between, I had to seek someone out to ask for salt ad pepper. The other staff through the hotel seemed more attentive, but it was a saturday night so perhaps they were busy.
