Lovely location, lovely grounds. Lovely staff. Nice steam, sauna and swimming pool. We stayed for two nights cost just over £200. Breakfast included. I think dinner should be included for that price.

My only objection is that this hotel is a per friendly one which means you can bring your dog to stay with you in your room and to the restaurant. I was uncomfortable with this as there was an incident with two dogs during breakfast which made everyone in the restaurant uncomfortable. I think allowing pets should have its limits. To allow a dog to come to a breakfast area, personally for me this policy is completely unacceptable. I think they should review this accordingly.

Nice hotel with very good facilities. All staff were very friendly and helpful and really seemed to enjoy their work and interacting with the guests. Staff were also superb when I suffered a life threatening allergic reaction which necessitated the calling of an ambulance and my being taken to hospital for treatment.

We were in the rooms in the newer part of the hotel and we were disturbed on all nights of our stay by the noise from neighbouring rooms. There did not seem to be a great deal of soundproofing between rooms. Also the hotel was a little larger and therefore not as intimate as I had hoped (but this is my bad for not researching more thoroughly).

The location is lovely. Our room was a king Deluxe where we requested a bath. The room was clean and very comfortable, with a large, comfy bed. The Spa and swimming pool was lovely and enjoyable. All the staff members were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was good and the food in the evening was outstanding

The bath was not a standard size, so you could not relax in it which was disappointing. Harry's bar was very noisy when we wanted a quiet, relaxed evening for a meal; we didn't realise it hosted conferences and that this was the only Bar / Restaurant that we could use on-site. Guests who attended these conferences did have access to other areas of the Hotel, we felt that the Hotel was more equipped for this. We assumed there would be some quieter areas to sit if you were a couple looking for a relaxing time which was mentioned on the Hotels website

We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend break at Horwood House Hotel — just what we needed! The location is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by countryside and lovely gardens, which immediately set the tone for a restful stay. The hotel itself is a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort, with well-kept rooms. The highlight for us was the spa — a truly calming space with excellent facilities. We enjoyed unwinding in the pool, sauna, and relaxation area, and left feeling recharged. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the service was great from start to finish. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with a lovely spa, good food, and beautiful surroundings, I highly recommend Horwood House!

This was a lovely getaway and highly recommend. I would definitely revisit - it was quiet, clean and comfortable. We stayed in the king room and it was very clean and cosy. Found the bed very comfortable and they don't rush to stop breakfast at their set times which is nice.

- receptionist was robotic - breakfast was quite limited - soap dispensers didn't work too well - spa can get quite crowded - you can only control the temperature of the heating when it's on, there's no way to turn it on if you're cold. I think it's centrally controlled. We did get cold at night.

Double room was adequate but because of my partner’s health problems it was a struggle so I asked to upgrade. We received a complimentary upgrade, the manager couldn’t have been more helpful, room was beautiful and met our needs. We booked for another night as we were so comfortable. Food and service in Harrys Bar is excellent, good choices. Grounds are beautiful and so clean and well kept everywhere. There were a couple of events going on but the place is so well managed that it didn’t affect our stay at all. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room are clean and well maintained. Breakfast is buffet and a great range meeting every possible need. Food is hot and fresh even when really busy. I will definitely return and would recommend.

Loved everything

We stayed at Howard House Hotel in Milton Keynes for two nights from the 10th of July to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was truly a lovely experience. We had initially booked a standard room but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a deluxe suite — and even more touched that the manager kindly waived the upgrade fee as a gesture for our special occasion. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning gardens and picturesque landscaping that add so much charm to the surroundings. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which really made us feel at home. We also thoroughly enjoyed the on-site spa — a real highlight and a perfect way to unwind. The only small drawback was that the room didn’t have air conditioning, which made it a bit warm during the night. Aside from that, everything was spot on. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend Howard House Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway. We'd be happy to return in the future!

The location was beautiful and the staff is the heart of the place. Always so kind and helpful. The room was spacious. Out of all the choices in MK this is the best option for comfort and luxury in the area. Perfect for a weekend getaway. We loved the walks in nature and had plenty of activities, if you were to decide to spend your whole stay without leaving the hotel. The garden was wonderful. The restaurant was great. The staff and food were excellent. The pool and outdoor area was nice. With the weather getting warmer it's super nice to sit and lounge and tan while you order your drinks. I really like the idea of skipping cleaning service because it means that the hotel donates to Crisis UK to provide for a hot meal.

The rooms are not ideal for hot summers as there's no AC and the room gets very stuffy at night. They only provide a fan and the window is the only place to get proper ventilation. The bedroom was full of bugs (which I guess is natural given you're surrounded by nature). The room was spacious and well decorated but it wasn't fully equipped with basic amenities that you would expect in a 4* hotel, unless you ask directly at the front desk. Robes and slippers are not provided unless you pay for it separately. The pool was lovely but I don't feel like it's being cleaned regularly. It's super cloudy in the 3 days we were there.

The hotel is lovely - the refurbishment is very stylish. On the whole, the members of staff were great. The service in the restaurant was a bit variable. The waiting staff were better than the managers/Maitre’d throughout our 2-night stay. The reception staff were also variable - most were great and made it look easy to go the extra mile. Others were more stressed and not very professional. The spa is lovely and the treatments were great. The food in Harry’s bar was tasty. The drinks took a long time to come but food was quick. Be prepared that you are unlikely to be staying the beautify old house - that seems to be off limits! The majority of the rooms are in a newer building. Very nice rooms just a bit disappointed that the characterful house was not a feature of the visit at all

See other answer about variability in service. The breakfast was good but not that extensive. I would expect air conditioning in a newly-refurbished hotel so the room was too hot

The Location is stunning. The drive through the countryside to get to the hotel is beautiful. The pool was good and sauna, ( a little small) steam room wasn’t working. The outside courtyard space to relax after our swim was amazing. We wished we had booked a couple of nights . Breakfast was really good but extremely busy. We didn’t mind waiting for the food and drinks to be replenished All decor was beautifully designed in all the hotel we felt. We played lawn games that was set up which was unexpected and fun. We found a good size green with small goal posts and two tennis courts which would be great for the kids. We WILL DEFINITELY be staying again and are trying to work out when , CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK.We didn’t use the restaurant as we had our meal in one of the local pubs , we also didn’t use the beauty spa both of which we will do when we return

We where slightly disappointed in our room . It was very small looking out onto another building. The price on booking.com was reduced after I had booked which was also disappointing. We would have upgraded with the difference but had paid in full in advance The bed was on wheels and moving around, it was also very creaky but very comfortable
