Room was lovely, bed comfortable. Plenty of storage space. Nice and quiet at night. We needed oat milk for our tea in the morning and staff were very fast to provide this for us. There was always a parking space in the car park and although the front door opened onto the car park traffic was not an issue at all. Breakfast was lovely. You can either have continental which is included or if you want a little more than either something on toast or a full fry up which you pay for accordingly.
Check the light bulbs please! One of the ones above the bed and one above the shower does not work and needs replacing. My partner did not want me to bother or I would’ve told you. it would have been nice if one of the windows downstairs could have been been opened to create a through draft. It was extremely hot inside Sometimes so I appreciate there was a fan supplied. (This would have just circulated the hot air inside) to compensate for no open window, we left the front door open while we were downstairs. At night the green electric emergency fire sign is right opposite Art in the bed and lights up the room like Piccadilly Circus. Far too bright, we were not told if we could have turned it off and I doubt it. Get the manager to sleep in there so they can appreciate how bright it is!

Such friendly people! Excellent location, ideal for exploring the area The Mews Suites are much bigger than I thought they'd be, and are super-comfy and quiet We were there over Christmas so did not get to enjoy the pub fare, but noticed that it was very popular for locals and I've heard that the food & service is excellent (unsurprising, given the welcome we received).
The only recommendation I'd make to the management team is to move the fire alarm to a different spot in the bedroom as the green light is very (very) bright and unfortunately, due to the bed placement, it's the first/ only thing you see when you open & close your eyes. Fine if you like a light room, but we had to cover it up as neither of us could sleep otherwise.

'Suite' turned out to be in what I assume is converted stable block with own entrance from car park, spacious lounge downstairs (with fridge and small TV) and double bedroom upstairs (with another small TV). Nicely furnished, spotlessly clean. 2 different packs of Border biscuits on the hospitality tray as well as capuccino and hot chocolate sachets (one of each). Large beer garden, pub lounge and very pretty dining room. Restaurant cuisine is plain English, home-cooked, competently prepared but I'm sure there are other eateries in walking distance if you fancy something different. Good English breakfast with quality bacon. No real problem with traffic noise despite location at traffic lights. Overall good enough that we may well stay again as this is such an interesting area with Ironbridge museums nearby.
Bed was only a standard double, but good mattress and quality bedding. Radiators full on when we arrived (a hot day); we had to be shown how to turn them off using the thermostat that we hadn't noticed, then the room cooled down eventually. Shower/ toilet a little dated but OK. Would have been nice to have plain yoghurt on the breakfast buffet, not just fruit yoghurts, and better-quality preserves, also didn't like the fried bread which seemed to be deep-fried. But that's just me being picky. 10 am checkout might seem a bit early for some.

Lovely comfy room. Bathroom spacious. Lots of thoughtful extras, tissues, bathmat, iron/ironing board available. Staff wonderful; everyone was so kind and thoughtful. The food was more than excellent. My husband says he had the best steak he's had in the last 15 years!
Would have liked a small grab rail on side wall of bath. It would help enormously getting up and out of bath. We are not as steady as we used to be. Age related! Small shelf near sink for toilet bags. They need to be to hand.

I stayed on a very busy Saturday night and I must say the Management and staff were working exceptionally well considering the influx of people. They dealt with everything very well, being under great pressure. It a so busy ---- Everyone was so friendly and accommodating despite being clearly overwhelmed... Great team spirit.... Rooms comfortable, bed especially...quiet, cool. ~ Food great

On arrival parking was easy after a 6 hour drive this was very welcoming! Reception staff helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. I ate in the hotel in the evening for convenience and the food was tasty and the restaurant was busy. The open fireplace made the room cosy. Breakfast was great and cooked to order and friendly staff 😊
Actually, I couldn’t fault the hotel. I travel a lot for work and often use hotel chains. I decided to use an independent one on this occasion as the location suited me, I will definitely look out for independent hotels in the future

WOW, Wasnt expecting such an amaizing room, we were blown away we were put in the mews which was like a little tiny house , staff were very friendly and the room was restocked with tea and coffe the following morning , tv upstairs and downstairs, breakfast was also good in the hotel itself, Ideal location for plenty of walks, information centre in the high street that had free leaflets on local walks, very busy little town in the daytime, what is there not to like

Absolutely loved the room ,we were in mews 1 and it was beautiful definitely had the wow factor.
No blind in the bedroom window so in the summer evenings everyone in the beer garden can see you trying to get changed plus it allows the early morning daylight straight into the room which gave us an unusual early 4.30 am wake up call also meaning we couldn't go back to sleep after.

I liked the ambiance of this hotel. It has a nice neutral feel. The room was bright and the bed was comfortable. The car park is very convenient and the breakfast was exceptional.
Set at a junction, there was a fair amount of traffic noise during the waking hours. However, in a small place like Wenlock, it is a compromise between parking and location and I needed somewhere secure for my motorcycle. The room was nice, but the bathroom was a bit too close to the bed for my liking.

Efficient check-in, central location, good car park, very pleasant staff who took the time and trouble to make our overnight stay comfortable. Excellent value food and local - Hobsons - beer. An early check-out - 7am Sunday morning - wasn't a problem, the early breakfast was easily arranged.
The road was noisy until late but to be fair, this isn't the Gaskell Arms' fault, just a few late working tractors at harvest time. Not unexpected in rural Shropshire!
