The hostel is obviously well run and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. The staff seem to enjoy their job. They explained the operation of the hostel clearly and were generally very helpful. The meals available were very good (though oats could be added to the breakfast selection!) There are interesting walks from the hostel, for example along to the Iron Bridge. Our overall impression was very favourable.
Our stay was overnight on an exceptionally warm night. The ventilation in the hostel seemed inadequate for that circumstance. The staff told us in the morning that a fan could have been provided. It would have been better if they had mentioned that option on our arrival given that it was clearly going to be an uncomfortable night.

The location was just perfect. 10 minute drive into Telford to get to our 2 day company event. Made time for a lovely canal walk and found The Boat Inn to eat (9 of us) Gorgeous area to explore if more time allowed. Hostel. Great. Clean. All you need for a decent bed for the night. Very clean and comfortable. Great hostel. Obviously caters very well for walkers and explorers but lots of areas to cook, chill, walk and chat. The cafe area Great for gathering everyone together. Breakfast choices suited everyone. Overall it is a fabulous hostel and will definitely stay again for next year's event.
The one thing that could have been better was that the breakfast sausages were cooked for longer. Great to have the nice filter coffee available in the morning made up for it ; )

It is a well known location, my taxi found it very easy to get to. I checked in a bit later than the last check in time and one staff member was kind enough to stay behind even though he had no obligation whatsoever to do so. I got a very warm welcome and my check in was stress free. All the facilities were clean and very tidy. The toilet was clean, the kitchen was also very clean with nice cutlery and cooking utensils. Everything was in perfect working order. The room was nicer than expected considering the price tag!
The fact that I had to step outside of the building to make a phone call. I did not have wi-fi calling and my phone network was really bad.

Being able to park at the hostel was a bonus. The location was prefect for walking in the area and the China Museum. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was quiet, despite others staying, the hostel history, tiled floor was interesting. The staff (Sam on arrival and other staff) were friendly and helpful .
It would have been nice to have a local map (ordinance survey type) in the lounge or hall way.

Helpful staff. Clean facilities. Bunk bed comfy. Excellent breakfast choice. Felt safe as a sole traveller. First experience at a YHA.
The room was overly hot. Not due to heating but the hot water pipes. Maybe lagging them would keep the heat in the pipes and not the room. Lying on top of the duvet i was sweating which made it difficult to sleep.

The reception staff was friendly & helpful. The evening meal was nice, great value and the staff were obliging. The breakfast varied and good value. The £1 charge for children's meals is a good idea. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was clean.
It was everything we expected

I love the hostel and staff were so helpful and friendly .I will definitely come back . The location is just so peaceful and interesting. I really enjoy staying in amongst history and nature
Only reason I reduced the facilities score was that the heating on first night was unbelievably hot and sleep was difficult . This was a problem for many guests . staff explained their issues with the boiler system , offered fans and thankfully turned it off for rest of our stay. I hope the heating system can be upgraded as it seems such a hassle for staff to cope with , waste of money for the hostel and not great for environment . Wifi didn't work on my phone consistently but luckily it was OK for my niece so she was able to sort it.

Highly recommended because of the greenery, the quiet and sunny environment outside the cafe and fried. Staff here are helpful and professional.
It’s almost exclusively for those with cars, but thanks to the park and ride running around the local businesses nearby during weekends.

Lovely location and clean and beautiful hostel
Couple of things affected our sleep: Green glow from ceiling light was a bit bright People talking outside The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that although we were told the kitchen would be busy because of a large group we were told we'd be able to order food if it was before 7pm, but when we tried to order at 6.15pm we were told they wouldn't take our order so we had to walk back to the pub we'd just left for food
