The hotel and pub are beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. We really enjoyed our breakfast and being able to visit the pub in the evening.

Most of the staff were very polite and helpful but unfortunately we did not have the best welcome when we were told by 2 members of bar staff at a few minutes to 9 that the kitchen had closed because they had "run out of food" despite having been told when we checked in that we could order until 9pm. I asked for clarification and it turned out that we could actually order, giving the impression that the staff could not be bothered to take a food order and tried to fob us off. Our room was unbearably hot and the window only opened a tiny bit but the weather was unusually hot!

Room was very good, and with a clean bathroom and room. Bathroom had a large walk in shower and all the extras like shampoo, etc. Good selection of tea and coffee and a pedestal fan for if it gets too hot. Medium comfy bed and pillows and good access. We had food in the restaurant and it was very good. Staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The venue was very close to an event were attending so location was perfect.

The room was very hot and we couldn't open the windows. The fan helped a bit but still too hot at night. The duvet was too thick for the time of year and we ended up stripping off the cover to use instead. The pillows were soft aswell.

The building has been very sympathetically renovated and is quite magnificent. The decor was beautiful with log fires blazing and candles in storm lanterns glowing in each window both during the evening and first thing in the morning. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent. Our bedroom and bathroom were furnished to an extremely high standard with a variety of teas, ground coffee, biscuits and chocolates. The complimentary toiletries were also of a very high quality. Himley Hall is nearby and in the entrance hall was an area with towels for drying dogs off, water, treats and bowls. The bar and dining room are quite large but the decor ensures an intimate and cosy feel. This hotel is an absolute gem and we will return.

The disability room is very good and it appears well thought out. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, we were very pleased.

Room 19 disabled room, once through the external door you faced with two half doors (vertically) which open towards you and from the wheelchair you have to open one, jam it with the wheelchair and then open the other which can be difficult with limited reach. Then another lobby with the room door which was fine. The disability bathroom floor once out of the Shower curtain area slopes towards the door and it pooled there, which is rotting the bottom of the door and carpet (there is a slight rot smell). One of the windows is broken and has been repaired by putting a clear piece of plastic over it, and there was a small gap which we covered with sellotape. Surprisingly not double glazed!

The room was really lovely! Beautifully decorated, absolutely spotlessly clean, well equipped and super comfortable. We were very happy staying there. Both the vegetarian and traditional English breakfasts were delicious, a good amount and set us up for the day! The surroundings were lovely and comfortable, all staff were friendly. We would very happily stay at the Himley Hotel again!

I would of liked a couple of decaf teabags in the room. Think it's a great idea having a thermo bottle on the tray that you take to get filled with milk! But we didn't notice this until we got home after midnight so couldn't have a cup of tea until morning. Might be an idea to have the notice about getting your milk a bit more prominent, or mention it at check in.

Loved the decoration and the size of our (family) room. It felt fancy without breaking the bank. The bed was really comfortable, the water pressure was good in the shower. I liked the extra touch that you could ask to have a little flask filled with milk for your tea or coffee in the room. Breakfast was tasty

A really small thing that would make a big difference. It just didn't feel like the staff knew the systems to work efficiently. At breakfast, the hot water or the milk or the pastries or the cups or the cereal was running out and not being replenished till we asked. We waited quite a while to give our order for cooked breakfast.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout, despite being very busy. The room was nicely decorated, well designed with a smart, if small bathroom, comfortable king bed and good lighting. Thoughtful touches such as quality selection of tea, coffee and biscuits as well as vacuum container for fresh milk. We thought it represented very good value for money

As people who always sleep with the window open, we found that being unable to open them was a bit of an issue. (they were screwed shut, possibly something to do with old windows/listed building?) Next time we would ask for a different room especially if it was summertime.

Evening meal (Sunday roast) was good & very large portions. Breakfast was very good. Both meals were very good value for money. Staff were all friendly & helpful. The location was ideal for the purpose I visited that area on the Wolverhampton/Dudley border. The room was spacious and relatively comfortable.

I eventually found my room, but it was not without difficulty. It took a while to find out how/where to turn some of the ancillary lights on, but not the one next to the wardrobe. The view from the window was nothing to write home about - it looked out onto part of the hotel roofing with machinery & pipework.

The rooms were of much better standard than expected and were extremely comfortable. Toiletries, tea tray, linen and towels of good quality. Very nice touch of mini Green & Blacks chocolate!

The breakfast was chaotic. No milk for hot drinks, no glasses for fruit juice, no cutlery. Tables were left uncleared. Cooked breakfast was very nice when it arrived, but whole experience was poor (particularly the female member of staff behind the bar who clearly found it all an inconvenience.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them even when they were very busy. The veggie breakfasts were excellent every day of our stay. The room we had was comfortable and had been well refurbished recently. Great en-suite.

Our room was at the top with steep stairs. We were warned about this by the staff member, however, before taking the room. A lift would have helped. At times it was very busy and we felt that staff were very stretched. They did a great job but would have been assisted by more help.
