The rooms were clean upon arrival. Staff were friendly. Welcomed with towels, soaps and shower gel. Great location in the centre of Stourbridge. Walking distance to Interchange for bus and train travelling, to most areas of the Midlands. Some good pubs in the area and many shops too.

This isn't that I didn't like, this is more improvements moving forward... There was no tea or coffee in room or even a kettle. This just helps welcome guests. I was there over the week and the room was only cleaned on the last day. Cleaner tried getting into room at 6.45am on last day. Not many guests are up and gone by then are they?

The best thing was the customer service. Ahmed and a few other staff that helped me were very patient and kind. I was very tired and asked for a room change and kept misplacing things, and they continued to treat me with consideration and kindness. I am so grateful! They don’t have kettles in the room but they let me use one on request. The room was clean and comfortable with wonderful hot shower and electric heater. Besides this the food was excellent, especially the Sunday lunch! I had to ask the cook how he did the roasted potatoes and he told me but I probably won’t get it right. They were so good I took one with me in a napkin for a nighttime snack 🥰

I wasn’t driving. I would recommend going by train, they aren’t far from Stourbridge town station. But if you do this don’t forget to stop at Stourbridge Junction ticket office to say hi to George 🐈

It's a lovely hotel right in the middle of Stourbridge - lots of restaurants and things like that nearby, but despite that it's easily accessible off the ring road and has a free (for guests) car park. It's worth staying there for the location alone, but it's also a lovely old building. A slightly crazy layout but that's to be expected with a place so old. Some nice old features as well as more up to date stuff too. Bar and lounge is nice too - we didn't eat at the restaurant but it did look good and good value too. Every one of the staff members I spoke to were professional and made us feel welcome. We plan to stay there when we next visit the area

We did have an issue with the shower not draining properly, but the staff were excellent and got it sorted quickly.

We travelled from Coventry with friends and family. Upon arrival we was greeted with lovely staff who straight away made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We booked our breakfast for the following morning and when asked what kids wanted the kids shouted pancakes . They said no problem we don’t normally do them but not a problem, even went out their way to buy Nutella for kids to have on them. The rooms were amazing we had a family room on the 3rd floor So spacious and warm kids absolutely loved it. Can’t fault this hotel . The bar area is fabulous to sit and relax so so friendly. Will 100% be staying here again . Thank you Talbot for making us welcome.

Very clean and fresh room, decent bar. Middle of Stour which is helpful. I remember previous incarnations of the Talbot which were to be avoided at all costs, but I would absolutely stay again in this new guise. The room was small, but clean and the bathroom was good. Cold when we got in there but the heater within soon had us happily roasting.

Poor experience with other bar customers not well handled. We had issues with someone in the bar being incredibly rude (unprovoked) - not the hotel's fault but did rather spoil my overall view of the place. Would be good to see a little more security - we had to have our block's door opened and then latched to get in and out. These should really be openable using the room key and otherwise kept shut, but we had no issues. I think the hotel's logistics and admin are a little too basic for this day and age. A bit more thinking about how seamless the experience is in that regard would take it to the next level. But I liked it.

Staff were welcoming and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Room was large and beds were clean and comfortable. A lot quieter than I expected.

The building, due to its age and character, is not really suitable for disabled guests; lots of unlevel flooring (small steps etc.) no lift. Carpet in my room could do with cleaning. Car park is small, open to, pay and display, public and shared with neighbouring gym, so parking can be difficult at busy times

Breakfast was lovely the Bacon and Sausages in the Full English was very tasty and they changed the fried egg to a scrambled egg when I asked. It was no problem to do

There was no Kettle and Tea & Coffee facilities in my room and in fact twice when I was at the reception two other people requested to have those facilities in their rooms. Normally it seems to be something you would expect to find in your room.

Great Breakfast and evening meal and see below. Wonderful old coaching house, the dining room restaurant is a historical gem with it's oak beam and timbers.

Property throughout is a little cold, but I understand why, heating costs in the UK are currently bonkers, and to keep a property of this size heated throughout would be very challenging for the business. The room I stayed in, which was very nice and comfortable and the wi-fi worked, did have an electric heater which managed to keep the bedroom warm. The heat losses are challenging for this type of building fabric.

Charming old coaching inn, will need a little more refurbishing but certainly getting there, Spacious room, excellent staff, great location, fairly noise-free, very useful microwave and fridge in room. plenty of plug sockets,comfortable beds..

Pity the resturant not open yet, parking quite difficult, need to arrive before 6pm at least, TV only worked on ITV and C4.

Breakfast was a shambles... took over 15mins be served a coffee...we were the first ones in dining area and a further 30 mins to receive breakfast which had a few things missing of it that were stated on the menu.... breakfast itself was very nice but the male server did not have a clue what he was doing I'm sure he was new to it and will improve
