I love how welcoming the staff was and very organised. The sleep was great, you get what you pay for. No issues with the room. The breakfast was delicious there was enough for all and the morning staff was great. The manager sorry couldn’t get her name was fab she and the morning staff made us feel welcome, given my sons a holiday inn band which made them really happy :)

The only thing was that there was some water marks from a leak but this isn’t a complaint as it didn’t bother our sleep. Another issue was properly the charger for electric car there’s only one it would be good to have a few more just to avoid disappointment and also it wasn’t working . Honestly I know this has absolutely has nothing to do with Holiday inn but I thought I’ll just address the issue as it was on there site.

Visited for the first time to enjoy 2 nights racing, hotel was nice room was modern but tv didn't work at all but we weren't there to watch so didn't report all staff were very friendly so a nice atmosphere, breakfast was good. On the first night we did dining at Dunstall which was £60 each we didn't find it was worth it and the 2nd night we were happy to find that it was only £5 entry to races as hotel guests maybe this should have been advertised more? Overall a nice 2 days and would go again x

Only thing was old tv in room could do with updating and didn't work at all hotel could do with a paint on outside looked a bit scruffy x

menu at the bar was very limited , hardly anything on there which was quite annoying . yet we later seen a room service menu which had a lot more on by which time it was too late . Personal preference was the bed was too hard & i stupidly didn’t think to look for a temp dial for air con / heating which was set at 25 degrees .. so after i’d been awake most of the night sweating i wish i had .. ( Maybe cleaning staff could set temp at around 20 when leaving the room ) this was something i should have thought about not a fault of hotels in one way ..

Right next to the race course, so if you are a race fan, absolutely brilliant spot. We booked to be near to town centre and it's fine for this too. There are buses from the top of the road that take you to town, although they seem to stop around 3pm on Saturday, but you can still get plenty of buses to the main road for a bit longer walk - about 20 mins running late into night. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and breakfast has a good choice and because it's not really walking distance to any cafes, it's best to get this included. Staff are friendly and helpful and the bar opens late. Would stay here again if in the locality. Recommend The Bilash Indian restaurant in town. Really quality food, a bit expensive but definitely worth it. Very near to the Halls if you are going to a gig which we were. One car charger in the car park with the 3 usual connections. Slow charge but fine as no-one else was using it and ok charge price. There is also a Tesla charger in the car park.

Said our room overlooked the horses ring, but more of a 'side glimpse' as there was an abutment in the way. Only one car charger besides the Tesla charge in the car park, so this would be a problem when there are more electric cars as it wasn't a fast charge for us (Cupra Born).

Hotel was convenient for function. Room was clean ,staff were efficient and friendly. Special mention for your function staff who were lovely and friendly ,when we were held up they made sure we had food that was hot , excellent service. Security also deserve a mention as they performed a difficult job with cheer and friendlyness ace chaps.

Breakfast was fine but could have been better with wait for top ups required quicker without having to ask for them

Hotel on the racecourse is a great idea for race meetings to make a real experience for a day/night at the races.

Would have preferred a room overlooking the parade ring as requested, and also the welcome message on the TV wasn't our name which initially made us nervous that we had the wrong room!! However, when we queried this with reception we were told it always happens and was probably the previous nights guest and their system hadn't updated!

Nice comfortable hotel. Room was clean, warm and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We stayed at this hotel as we were going to the races at Dunstall Park, and the location was excellent being literally on the racecourse itself. All the staff, both in the hotel and on the racecourse were exceptionally nice and helpful, couldn't fault them at all. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Rooms are always lovely and clean as well as the communal areas and bar. All the staff are always super friendly and it was lovely to see Jackie again who is the hotel's best asset having her as an employee. Food was presented well and tastes good. Brilliant location. Races were fab. Close to town and darts venue.

Bit over priced for food. Mattresses are very firm. Heating doesn't always come on but you can ask at reception and they are able to control it from there for you to get it working so always ask staff for help as they really do their best to help resolve any issues you need help with.

Large spacious room, very comfortable. Room clean and tidy. Bed very comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of washing products ( soap/shampoo in toilet/shower room ) Breakfast, had choice of cooked or continental. Staff very friendly and efficient. Heating/cooling system very efficient.

Would recommend small safe in room, to protect valuable's (piece of mind). Mirror in room too high when sitting doing make -up (wife)

As we were visiting the racecourse, the hotel was ideally situated. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

The welcome tray in the room could do with more coffee and milk, and a few biscuits wouldn't go amiss. This isn't a criticism, rather a suggestion.
