Nice place, clean and staff very welcoming. Had a nice stay.

Booked restaurant on the Saturday as we had eaten earlier in the week and food was good. But ordered the pie which didn’t look like a pie, but of pastry on top of a small dish, inside literally two pieces of chicken and two mushrooms no sauce. We complained and they replaced meal. Also ordered the special’s which was pollock on a bed of tiny amount of mash, we did ask for more which they did bring. Sadly another couple complained that the chicken he had ordered was raw in the middle, which he left. This ruined the stay for us which was a shame because the breakfast was lovely.

Lovely, big room and bathroom. Nice decor. It's only a short walk into town; we chose to go along the river and through the park which was lovely. We ate at the nearby Valley hotel which was excellent.

Although we eventually figured it out - we were not told to put our palm to the door entry unit to trigger the keypad. We spent far too long tapping it - trying to get the numbers to light up! Other things that would have made the experience a bit better: adding another table lamp so that both sides of the bed have a lamp and a floor lamp behind the two arm chairs would improve the ambience of the room as the overhead lighting is very bright. A USB socket would have been nice.

Lovely grounds beside the Severn River. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a large tub/shower. Super comfortable bed. Two bedside tables and places to store clothing. A good-sized desk. We liked the abundant supply of chilled drinking water. The staff were exceptional: friendly and helpful. The full English breakfast was good and it was convenient to have access to the pub-style restaurant downstairs. The overall vibe was relaxed and friendly. We felt well taken care of.

Our first-floor room looked directly out onto the main road; we could see and hear traffic, though fortunately not too much at night. And the River Rat is at the edge of Ironbridge, with a 10-15 minute to shops and other restaurants and sights. These are minor downsides.

It was very pretty and quirky in the b&b, our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was tasty and very hot. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and the eating area was very nicely decorated and quirky.Beutiful surroundings and location is great. A beautiful place very happy we stayed here. ❤️

Our first night there we weren't expecting our food bill to be £70,the food was beautiful, lovely fresh and hot. But I didn't think the service charge was fair. Only when we got back to our room we noticed this. It could be wavered as stated on the bottom of the receipt but didn't realise it, and it was too late to get it taken off as the bill had been paid. I think that people should be made aware of this,due to us arriving late because I had drove an hr after work I was tired and didn't want to cause a scene. Also, the shower in our bathroom was great, but I did worry about it as water was not draining quickly enough. When mentioned to staff, it had already been reported previously. I also think drinks are a little pricey.

We had a 50 yr school reunion there .. nothing was to much for the staff , all the staff were so kind , friendly , helpful and smartly dressed .. Sara the manager helped us so much before I arrived , sorted out the buffet it was excellent. Sorted where we could have our get together , every one complemented how beautiful every where was , about the staff , the location and food , we will definitely be back , only on small thing was oh please get a five blade FAN it was a hot weekend lol ..

Truthfully there isn’t anything not to like at all ..

The staff at The Water Rat added the extra to make our stay so very lovely. Great accommodation, which was very quiet and away from the main pub itself, the newer part of the restaurant was built (which overlooked the lovely outside view) to join the pub & accommodation. The food was fresh and fab, very similarly priced for the whole of the area so by all means try elsewhere but really no need. Pub crawl from Ironbridge back to The Water Rat is a must. Thanks to all there for our lovely stay… ❤️

Large comfortable room with large ensuite and fab shower. Tea/coffee in room and large screen TV. Next to the road but the road was quiet at night. Ate in the restaurant which was very good. Good relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was freshly cooked and you could personalise your cooked breakfast. We needed to leave early so breakfast time of 8.30- 9.30 am (Sat) suited us - may be a bit early for others. Very friendly staff. Lovely grounds but we didn't have time to explore - went to catch a train on the Severn Valley Railway - great!

Bar/restaurant closes at 9pm so plan ahead - we just ordered a bottle of wine with our meal and finished drinking it in our room.

The room was very cosy and a little quirky as the bathroom was up a flight of stairs from the bedroom, which we loved as it meant that the bathroom was very spacious with a large flat surface to store things on. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the service also excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean and very warm with a huge TV. Downstairs in the lobby there were free bottles of water in a fridge plus extra tea, coffee, sugar etc also free, also because we were drinking de-caff tea at breakfast the lady who was serving us made sure there was plenty in our room. The property has a large car park with a path that leads down to the river, and is only a short walk from Ironbridge centre, either along the river or by the pavement. So considering all of the above the price we paid for a three night stay, including breakfast, with free cancellation and nothing to pay until nearer the date of the stay, it was exceptional value for money. We will be returning!

It was more like an Inn than a hotel. However, we enjoyed our stay at the Water Rat . The room was very large with a view over the garden and river . We found all the staff very friendly and very helpful. There were plenty of packing spaces, which is great , as there is a lack of parking spaces in Ironbridge.. We would stay at the Water Rat again, as we found it just the relaxing break we wanted

The only thing we found was the breakfast time . It was from 8 am to 9 am . Would have liked to be until 10 am . However, the breakfast was great

Breakfast very good with full English freshly cooked. Evening meal very good with prompt service. Location as on the Buildwas Road on edge of Ironbridge, very convenient for Ironbridge and surrounding area.Rooms separate from hotel with good insulation. Plenty of supplies in the rooms. Good walk, say 20 mins, possible along river and through a park into Ironbridge.

No fresh fruit at breakfast. Shower was malfunctioning and needed repair then was very good. Bathroom ventilator switch high on wall and not apparent. Too many cushions! As the rooms are in a renovated house the ones on the first floor are accessed via a narrow steep staircase to a small landing. Only a problem perhaps to a few.
