Good location, good service, decent pub and decor. Beer nice. Chips nice. Good sized room. Clean bed and nice duvet and pillows. Generally tidy and comfortable. Liked the games room and sport on tv.

Mainly the door banging in the morning Fri people going in and out of room 2, but that is not the pubs fault. Hot water great but close to scalding. Could harm the infirm or children. Light bulbs missing in places and light bulb in dressing area on wall didn’t work properly. Carpet a bit pongy near entrance door. Bathroom could have done with a bit more of a clean and spruce up.

We arrived a little early but was welcomed with friendly faces and smiles. Although early, the room was ready, and we were allowed to book in, and we could drop of our bags and go explore this beautiful little town. The room had a small extra nook where the kettle was situated as well as a rail and bench for our bags. The bathroom was nice and roomy with a towel warmer and everything was nice and clean. Nice bed with a medium firm mattress and very comfortable linen.

I won't say that it is something I didn't like, but rather a suggestion to improve your already excellent service. In some of the other rooms we stayed during our tour, the wall plugs had USB outlets for charging your phone.

It was a nice, clean room with comfy beds. The staff was very helpful. We asked for towels and bed linen for the single bed. The receptionist brought them in a min. It is within walking distance from the city centre. It is about 20 mins. Tea, coffee, kettle, mugs were on the tray, hot water in the shower. There is a car park next to the building. There is a pub on the groundfloor serving big variety of beer.

We wanted to have breakfast on Sun morning but unfortunately, the chef had an accident so there was no breakfast that weekend. It turned out only when we arrived.

Spotless comfortable room at excellent price.Ate there one evening and the food was lovely.

Managed to park but there isn’t actually a car park there despite “free parking “ indicated. It’s free street parking! Two slots by the pub usually taken.

I thought the room (Room 2) was very good and exceeded my expectations. The bonus to the room was the part of the room with tea/coffee making facilities and space for a chair, a suitcase, and to hang some clothes. There was an ensuite which was more adequate.

A few tired items but all the key criteria were met or exceeded. I was only staying for one night so only really needed a bed to sleep and a shower to refresh myself in the morning.

In an excellent location close to the town, the staff very welcoming. Excellent value for money. The bar very Christmassy, very pleasant and quite busy. Local people very pleasant. The room was very nice and surprisingly, quite big. Plenty of towels provided, a nice shower room, the room clean and tidy with tea/coffee available. The Wi-fi was fine, breakfast very pleasant. I asked if there was availability for next summer as we enjoyed it so much, the accommodation is fully booked, however, the staff messaged me to inform me of this as promised, so communication was excellent. I will definately stay here my next visit to Shrewsbury if available. Really enjoyed it.

For the price paid, a very pleasant experience. Our ground floor room had pretty much all we needed for a comfortable overnight stop. Perhaps a little light on storage space were we to have stayed longer.

Was quite looking forward to breakfast from 09:00 on the morning of our departure, having been told it was a new venture. In the event, when we appeared at 09:15 we were disappointed to find the pub locked and no sign of breakfast.

This is my second time staying at this establishment, as it is excellent value for money. Location is a 15 minute walk into town and is on a bus route. I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome by all staff, who all seem very happy in their roles. I was able to leave my overnight bag before and after my stay. I was allocated room 4 (single room). My room was nice and warm upon my arrival, thanks to the controllable heater being on. Room is small and adequate, with an ensuite (bath, with shower tap attachment). Overall, it was very clean, with a comfortable bed, hot drinks station, inc bottle of water, and TV. Full English breakfast, inc hot drink and toast is only £6.25. I also had dinner in the pub, which was reasonably priced, very tasty and plentiful. The Guinness was very good also!

These are just very polite suggestions, to make the stay more comfortable. There is nowhere to hang clothes. However, this could be remedied by putting up a little rail in the alcove to the left of the door and/or a hook on the back of the door for your coat, and provide wooden coat hangers. There is no bedside table, or shelf, but having one would make a difference, as there is enough space for a very small one. The room would also benefit a mirror close to the plug socket for when drying your hair.

Can’t beat an old pub to stay in. Excellent meet and greet from the bar member who gave me all the information I needed. Room was quaint, had everything I needed, plenty of tea and coffee, nice flatscreen tv and a bath which made a change, and to top it great value for money. The pub itself is wonderful, I can’t say anything about the food as they do not serve food on a Monday which is pretty much the norm where ever you go, but there’s plenty around if you fancy a snack.

I loved the way that I was welcomed with smiles and warmth again, turning up early for my overnight stay to enjoy a couple of beers. The room was available and I was given the keys to go and relax. I have been visiting for years and the wonderful, friendly employees never fail to deliver. Thank you for a peaceful break away 🙂
