Lovely quiet room with spa bathtub and good shower. Attentive and kind staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and more than I could finish. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed.
Really I liked just about everything and slept well. The tub is quite high so one needs to be careful getting in and out. A non slip bath mat may make the tub less slippery. Also I was there on quite a warm and muggy night. The quilt was too warm so maybe offer a sheet + blanket as an alternative. To be fair, I should have just asked - they were so accommodating that had I mentioned it, I know they would have brought them to me. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The location was beautiful. The beer garden was amazing we sat out and could completely relax. The staff were all lovely and polite and did everything we asked from them with a smile. The pub was beautifully decorated and it had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The room a little on the small size but absolutely not a problem. We went on an extremely hot weekend and the room did get very hot but a fan was provided. The bed was comfy and the pillows perfect. Beautifully clean and well maintained The breakfast was amazing!!! Such good value for money. Would return in a heartbeat Thank you..
The room got very hot but it was an extremely hot weekend.

Lovely building and grounds with quality furnishings. Outside areas look fantastic and would have been enjoyed in warmer months. The bedrooms are comfortable, clean and cosy with everything we needed and the spa bath was a great addition. Staff are lovely and happy to help with anything. Limited but good selection of meals/breakfast options and all food was excellent quality. This was our second business stay here.
It is not walking distance to anything but this was not a problem for us at all and we had everything we needed on site.

Most things were excellent, location, building, room staff, cost and oh my goodness what a massive breakfast of high quality food, sausages were amazing n it beat us could not finish it, evening meal really nice best fillet steak and meat pie ever and the 2 for £14 cocktails good value. We will definately be back in the future.
Bathroom too dark mirror light and ceiling light not working and the roman blind broken these issues had been mentioned in reviews since 2022 and not been fixed lets the room down slightly.

Rural but not too far from anything. Lovely place as a whole, nicely decorated, good ambience and very friendly staff. Room and ensuite was very nice, both very clean and in good nick. Bed was comfy and we both slept well. Double glazing does well at keeping road noise down to a minimum. Breakfast was REEEALLY good; huge, so bring your appetite!
Couple of functional problems in the bathroom which we reported on leaving, they were very apologetic and seemed keen to sort asap.

Location was good as it was close to the festival we were going to. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing. We had a lovely overnight stay, thank you.
A fan in the room would have been good as it was over 33 degrees outside and a very hot day. We should have gone to reception and asked really but it was late when we arrived. It wasn’t too much of a problem though.

Good breakfast menu. Large portions for those who chose cooked breakfasts. Location suited me as it is on the edge of town although only a short drive from the town centre. The road is very quiet late at night and there is no light from street lamps so the bedroom is dark.
I have no improvements to suggest. Everything was fine.

Another good stay at the Ugly Duckling. Good room, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice. Good location for us for an overnight stay when visiting family so will stay again. Evening meal with friends was also very good and generous portions.
It was a little noisy! However, it was a Saturday night and a bank holiday! It is a popular place though so this is to be expected. It didn’t detract from the comfort of our stay and people were clearly having a good time!

I want to thank Julie on a personal basis. My reason for visit was to see UB40 at the Telford Arena. Julie took me to the arena and picked me after the concert finished. Great time at the bar when we returned . I would highly recommend the Ugly Duckling to anyone visiting the beautiful county of Shropshire. Bed at 02.30 but what the hell - we had a great night. Thx too to the couple from Peckham I met at the bar (Del boy land). Young lady at reception in the morning so helpful - booked my taxi to Wellington. Hope Julie can make it to Cardiff one day? We going for lunch at Ty Madeira. A sincere thank you to everyone at The Ugly Duckling . Please take care good care and enjoy your life. Love Wayne 🌹🌹

Stayed one night with my daughter, our room was clean with comfortable bed and pillows. Was a twin but beds were pushed together, you could move them but would have had to moved bedside tables, wasn't an issue for us to leave beds as they were. Decor was nice. We ate dinner in the restaurant and both enjoyed our meals, it wasn't too busy in the restaurant and we were served by a very nice young waitress. Breakfast - both had pancakes which were really nice and very filling! There were plenty of choices for breakfast. There is a nice large outside seating area, nice comfortable, garden furniture. Our room was above the seating area but we didn't have any noise issues later in the evening. Staff overall were friendly.
Would have liked more vegetarian options on the main dinner menu.
