Easy check in and I was able to get straight to dinner at the very good restaurant. I discussed about the early breakfast option so I could get to the gym competition at Lilleshall on time and was assured this would be fine, so greatly appreciated the flexibility. Felt I should explain to breakfast staff who arranged for early start that I had to pull out of the competition due to the back injury I got in Tamworth before travelling, hence never took them up on the early option. They were very kind and sympathetic.

Room was a little small as I needed to do a spine roll to try and sort out my back at 2 am! Floor was too soft to be effective for that but I think the back was never going to get better in the time available on reflection. Had the floor been hard enough then it would not have suited the comfort for most people (including me,) under normal conditions in any case.

The staff were polite, helpful and friendly. Vanessa took our booking and questions with a smile and genuine care. The food was good. We had 4 dogs between our party of 3 people and there were big gardens around the property. A small amble down the side of the hotel. The cost of the dogs were £8.50 each however long we stayed. Which is excellent when you are costing accomodation. The rooms were wide enough for us to manoeuvre around the dogs comfortably. We were Located on the ground floor near exits so it helped for walks. The place has a friendly feel and despite very discreet development works for the bar and toilets during the day in progress. We heard very little during the day in the dining room I don't usually right reviews but after our recent 2 other stays down south this place was easy and welcoming. Thank you. Great value.

Location. Good bar. Warm and clean. Hotel Staff businesslike but friendly enough. (Bar staff very good, friendly and accommodating for our large family group that arrived unannounced). Lots of parking space. Excellent breakfast and pleasant and attentive restaurant staff. Breakfast good value at £10 per person extra on room price. Internet good.

No drinking glasses provided in the bathroom Could perhaps provide more tea, coffee and milk. Only sufficient for 4 small cups. Cups very small. A good-sized mug is what's most needed for refreshment after a long journey. Would cost very little to make these changes but would enhance the experience.

The room was good value for money and warm. I found the bed comfortable but my wife didn't. Full English breakfast was excellent, freshly made, good quality and tasty.

Shower head didn't stay up and flopped down so had to be held, but a minor issue but needs repair. Some minor marks on the bathroom wall. Worst thing was several guests noisily returning between 3am and 4am that made no attempt to be considerate of other guests.

Staff were great. Outdoor facilities excellent. Really nice veggie chili.

Bedroom was a bit small but great all the same.

the service was very friendly with staff always attentive. A good quality breakfast with lots of choice and starting early enough available from 7:30am. I ate in the restaurant in the evening, there was enough choice of fairly standard pub food. the dishes I had were very well prepared and very tasty and really good value for money

I have no real criticism of the hotel - it is fairly traditional and has a layout which shows its age, but it is what I expected and priced appropriately. The TV menu was not easy to negotiate, but the picture was great and there were lots of the normal channels available

The staff were exceptional, I haven’t experienced service and friendliness like this in a long time! The room was very clean, bathroom immaculate and the shower was amazing! Great accommodation, being renovated at the moment but didn’t cause any problems. The food in the restaurant was first class and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking for residents.

Only had one problem which was that it was cold in our room but after going to reception and having a word they turned up the heating for us and advised that there was a heater in our room that we could put on.

Rooms were spacious and the shower had great water pressure; the hotel restaurant/bar was pleasant and breakfast was fantastic value for money. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Underneath the beds weren't the cleanest. Had to move them to get something that had rolled underneath it and it was full of crumbs and a few wrappers.
