On arrival, I was met by the owner who was very welcoming and accommodating. The room was spacious with all the usual bits and pieces (kettle, coffee, teabags, biscuits) plus a bottle of water so I didn't have to fill a glass from the bathroom sink which was a lovely touch. I asked if I could have an iron to iron my shirt for the morning, and because the rooms don't have this facility, the host offered to do it for me - which was extremely generous and went above and beyond my expectations. The breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, plus a full english) was delicious and freshly cooked - nothing had dried out from sitting under a hotplate for god knows how long. All in, this was a delightful place to stay and I would absolutely stay again. And the pub next door is great too!

I arrived late and picked up a takeaway for my dinner, and the only surface to eat it was on the vanity unit which was tucked away in a corner.

It's a very beautiful place, of course. The friendly host met me, asked the menu for breakfast and led me to my room. The room was a great bed with a White-White duvet, a sheet and pillows. A comfortable bathroom with a shower and toilet. And the main thing in the room is specially designated place where women can love themselves in front of the mirror and make easy make-up. Breakfast was just excellent from the owner, the mental conversations of history is what you need. Thank you very much for your pleasant time of pastime

Based in Shifnal this property was ideal for exploring a little part of Shropshire. A relatively short drive from Birmingham (where we had stayed the night before) meant that we could fit in some sight-seeing before checking in. Judy met us on arrival and showed us to the lovely room, which was spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and was ordered the night before. On a personal note the location could not have been better - it was next door to a brilliant pub, that served great beer and even better bar snacks!

The hosts were lovely, very attentive and friendly. The bed was huge, very comfortable and the room was surprisingly large. Breakfast was also delicious and the host found a little treat for our son too which was really thoughtful. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be sure to return if we are back that way.

The location is a short walk to the main street and right next door to a pub selling real ale. We didn't hear any noise when people were leaving on either nights (Fri/Sat). The room was very spacious and stocked with toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities/water and biscuits. The bed was super comfy and there was loads of storage space. Judy was very friendly and very helpful and was doing a great job as her husband was in hospital. There was a variety of options for breakfast which was lovely and there was an offer of extra toast and drink refills, should you want them. There is a private car park.

Everything, breakfast was delicious, welcome was very friendly, accomodation was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The Anvil pub next door didn't cause any issues, didn't hear anyone leaving,serves filled roll,hot sausage rolls fantastic range of real ale's. We had a fabulous visit.

Nothing....no issues whatsoever and we will be more than happy to book again.

Good location, easy access to Town amenities, great Italian restaurant within short walking distance, large comfortable bed, large bathroom, great breakfast, hosts very pleasant and helpful, will definitely stay again when in the area.

We stayed at the Anvil Lodge for a couple of nights. Mick and Judy are great hosts from checking-in to goodbye all was good. Breakfast with all the trimmings sets you up for the day. Room clean and tidy. I can't think of even a little niggle. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Mike, the proprietor was very helpful considering it was a last minute late evening booking and helped with arranging transport to the lodge, as I had broken down and couldn’t proceed with my journey until the next morning. A great bonus with the lodge being situated next door to the Anvil pub which has a great selection of craft ales and cosy atmosphere.
