Brilliant location, right opposite the iron bridge - my room had a view straight across the bridge. Friendly staff and comfortable bed in a nice room. It could do with a little TLC but the owner told me they are gradually working their way through the hotel and updating it as they can. Really nice old fashioned bar with no tv (which is a bonus as far as I'm concerned) with some nice beers.

No food in the bar on the Sunday night when we were there, which was a shame, but there are other places to eat so it wasn't too much of a problem. No parking although if you are lucky there is a small amount of pay and display nearby. I would recommend doing what we did and driving around to the large pay and display car park on the other side of the bridge and walking back over the bridge - it's only a couple of minutes walk.

When we arrived the owner asked us to pay the full amount £120 again although we had already paid booking . com . He said he no longer had a relationship with booking . com and we should ask for a refund from them . On my return I asked booking . com for a refund and have still not received it !!

Had a lovely overnight stay at the Tontine, ideal for a riverside walk and exploring the village. Service was exemplary and the breakfast was enormous and beautifully cooked. Excellent. Special mention to Carly for accommodating our request to have breakfast in the sunshine and being limitless in your helpfulness, you are a credit to the hotel and to the wider hospitality industry. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The room had a couple of minor defects but nothing that would stop me staying again.

Excellent location: I particularly enjoyed the view of the bridge from my window. A comfortable room with ample bedding - ensuite facilities were fine and it was quiet on both nights I stayed. Parking was tricky (between 10am and 5pm especially), but this is an inevitably reality of staying in a hotel so centrally located in a World Heritage site town!

En suite facilities were fine overall, but some signs of mould on the shower unit. A toilet brush in the bathroom would also be advisable!

Great location in the middle of everything, with friendly informative staff. Lots to see in the area and some lovely walks in the surrounding area. Parking can be free if you are willing to move the car around.

The great central location means you will need earplugs should you want to sleep through the night. Not at all the fault of the establishment. The building is full of character and might seem a little tatty to some. But everything works.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. We were on the top floor had a lovely view .will definitely book again.

The only thing I struggled with was the stairs due to bad knees, so not the hotels fault. But was worth it for the lovely view.

The bedrooms are in the process of being renovated. Some bedrooms have already been done to a superb standard, whilst others wait in the wings. Thank you Steve and Cameron for the guided tour of the hotel, you are doing a fantastic job in just a short time, can’t wait to see the place once you have finished. I must give Cameron a big shout out for the excellent food he cooked for us in the restaurant, it was amazing.

Friendly staff, food was very good, and a great location across the road from the Ironbridge.

Car park by hotel is council run so need to buy parking ticket if there between 10 am and 5 pm. Not the responsibility of the hotel,so it's not a complaint, just made things a bit inconvenient.

Midweek summer hols stay. Great Hotel. Absolutely fabulous place to stay and visit- adds to the stepping back in time feeling. Couldnt be in a more fantastic location. Friendly helpful staff, always available. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Own ensuite with shower plus extra large shared bathroom with bath available-always handy if have kids. Delicious cooked full English breakfast in the morning with view straight across the bridge. Fascinating historical building to stay in. New owners are doing a great job keeping a tradition of staying in Ironbridge alive. Wifi easily accessible in hotel and in top floor rooms. Parking was easy in next door car park and free in evening. Had a brilliant break away exploring all the nearby museums- definitely recommend the Pass plus+ museum tickets, makes attending quick and simple.Make sure to find Bedlam furnaces as well to understand the history of the area. Had local yummy fish and chips sat under the Ironbridge in the evening. Eleys pork pies next door highly recommend and took some home for weekend picnic. Blist Hills Victorian Town on way home was something else. Teen kids really enjoyed it all and put phones away at times to join in. Will definitely come and stay again and teen son wants to come in costume next time!!

Was very little to not appreciate. Unsure if there is a lift to upper floors being such a historic building. Stairs may be difficult for some with heavy luggage but staff offer to help unload or carry so not an issue. Car parking is available in many places a short walk down from the hotel and nearby. Often find in many hotels with modern technology a multi way 2m extension lead would be useful with everyone's phones and laptops but the huge room had multiple wall sockets if needed. Overall very satisfied.

The best location directly opposite the bridge and close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. The owner Steve is very friendly and made us very welcome on arrival. The bed was very comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided. The bath towels were soft and a decent size. There was plenty of storage space and hangers in the wardrobe. The view from Room 6 was great as it was overlooking the bridge. We also understand that this hotel is under new ownership and we wish Steve and his team every success for the future. We would recommend and stay again. Thank you.
