Central to what we wanted
When we arrived my 22 year old son and myself had been assigned a double room despite booking a twin room. We managed to change it purely as one guest had not arrived. Somebody assumed that 2 adults could go into a double room

Everything in the room was very good, It all felt reasonably new and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel fitness facilities looked excellent, although I did not use them on this occasion
Breakfast buffet was mediocre, the stalls in the gents toilets next to the breakfast restaurant were filthy, it didn't look like they had been cleaned for days. There are no toilet brushes in the stalls and guests had clearly been unable to clean up after themselves. It was disappointing that the TV could not do streaming of any kind, it was unable even to connect to the hotel's own wifi, and couldn't even pick up all the freeview channels.

The hotel is neat and clean, well furnished and creates a nice atmosphere for guests. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, even with an EU socket and an above average TV, the bathroom was neat and clean as well, the shower is definitely a big plus! The food was good, as well, the indoor pool and spa area with a jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna was inviting. The location is great, few minutes walk to the train and bus station, and to all kinds of shops, as well.
The wall's soundproofing could be a little better for a hotel of this category, but it seems that improvements are done at the moment. The spa times in the evening could be extended by one hour, according to my taste, rather a suggestion than a complaint

I spent 2 nights at this hotel visiting daughter, rooms were clean and great value and you could also use the swimming pool, sauna’s and gym. If you’re looking to really relax you can book in the spa, massage, facial , there’s loads to choose from. I would try book this in advance if you want a certain time and day. They also have a very nice restaurant and bar, the staff member that really went above and beyond was Juin (sorry for spelling) she served us in the restaurant she is amazing at her job I’ve been to many high end restaurants and I don’t think I’ve ever been asked is the temperature of the room ok for us, she was just a pleasure, I can honestly say if the food wasn’t to my liking I would have still tipped her. Also has virtual darts board good fun little pricey though , £2 a game for pool table they have 2 tables. Parking will cost £10 for 24 hour stay which a little annoying as when I looked this up when I booked it said free parking so they should really deal with that as some may be very annoyed at this. Also only gripe would of liked hair conditioner only shampoo and washing gel, also think from previous hotel stays they do a little kit toothpaste with brush and ear buds just adds that little extra and maybe couple of biscuits with tea and coffee.

Modern, clean and fresh design. Comfortable room & bed. Friendly staff.
Thermostat on the shower was broken and went from just about bearable but very very warm to scalding hot. Plus it was a very warm weekend so could not get a cool shower. We told reception. They offered a room change or send maintenance. As we were heading out for the day, and did not have time to move rooms, we said to send maintenance. We were out from 10am in the morning until 6:30pm and the shower had not been fixed. The shaving mirror was also missing (not needed but just pointing it out) Also, the water went very very hot in the sink, no signs to warn of this fact.

I love this hotel because it’s standard are great The manager is fabulous and staff I know who deals with me every time I come to Telford
I came there a year ago one Christmas , and I came down very sick from the travelling one night in my room couldn’t move, The manager was really great how she handled the situation as the room was booked in a different name from my name, under my son name, which they were concerned I am still in the room, but once she understood it was the same family person which rebooked extended stay due to I was unwell in the room , save me spending sickness across the hotel. There care giving was great.

Hotel was clean, and staff friendly. The rooms were a little dated, but that’s shown in the price. There was damp/mould on the net curtains which was not ideal and the kettle has residue in but other than that it was acceptable. Drank at bar and wine very expensive but that’s hotel prices I guess. Location for centre was brilliant, could easily walk to shops/bars no problem.
Didn’t use wi-fi as didn’t know code, and never got to use the spa as it was locked and we didn’t know how to access it. Would have been useful to have been told this on check in.

Loved the early morning gym session and then a lovely uncrowded swim in the pool, although on the second day, the chlorine was very strong that it made our eyes sting. The location was perfect for visiting all the family and our room was spotless and the shower was great. We love staying at this hotel, due to the great staff, cleanliness, range of facilities, excellent food and drink and it's location, including easy parking.
No armchair by the table, usually hotel rooms have one chair to sit in at the desk and an armchair next to the table to relax in, but there was just a table, so had to keep sitting on the bed. Also a double bed should have 2 pillows for either side. We only had 3 all together when there should of been 4. Since we were only stopping 2 nights, we didn't let this be an issue and it certainly didn't spoil our stay.

All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. Parking was a breeze (£10 extra). We enjoyed the facilities for teens - a small pool, gym, two small pool tables, mocktails, football showing on TV screens (but quietly). Breakfast was appealing, and the dining room staff were flexible, sensible and helpful.
I don't want to criticise because we had an excellent stay and would definitely stay again! A small number of constructive suggestions: (1) move the orientation of the pool tables so that a person can use the cues without hitting the walls; (2) ask the cleaning staff to clean the vaccuum cleaners becuase they are making the air smell musty (preferably add some air freshener balls to the vaccs as well so that the air they expel smells nice). (3) Reduce the garden out the front so that the entrance can be seen clearly from the road - (so the building doesn't just look like a red brick Travelodge) - it is much nicer than that.
