What can I say about the staff? Just amazing! So incredibly friendly, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. I stayed with my two daughters, and while I was initially a little nervous, they instantly put me at ease with their warmth and great personalities. We’ve been fortunate to stay in some incredible hotels, including The Ritz and The Savoy multiple times, but this little gem absolutely blew me away. I have never experienced such exceptional friendliness anywhere else! The Swan is a lovely, traditional pub with such a cosy atmosphere—open fires, and a real sense of charm. The whole place was spotlessly clean, from the comfortable bedrooms to the immaculately maintained bathrooms. The shower was fantastic! The team went above and beyond in every way—even allowing us to keep our room for the entire following day while we waited for my daughter to finish her course. That level of generosity and thoughtfulness is truly rare. I can’t thank them enough. If I could give more than five stars, I would! Highly, highly recommend, and I’m sure we’ll be back.

This place has a super cosy atmosphere with an open fire and comfortable seating. Food was served quickly and was very nice. Our room was a good size, warm, clean and comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Tea/coffee, hot shower, plenty of towels and robes available. Full English breakfast was very nice as well as there being cereals and juices available. All the staff were nice, chatty, super friendly and helpful. Location was great for visiting our teenager at the nearby university and close to Newport and several retail parks. We'll definitely be staying here again.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfy and soft comfy towels. The shower had good pressure and hot water, very refreshing as I'd spent many hours on a motor bike and it had been a hot sweaty day. The food was good with a healthy selection, I'd definitely recommend the large 'Green Monkey' a local and very nice larger. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowed us to store our bikes out of the eyes of the general public which kept them safe over night.

No hair dryer, breakfast at the weekend was only from 9 - 10 and we had to leave at 07:30 due to a bike rally we were attending. The pub is in the middle of no-where, so if you are looking for a little night life it's a taxi ride away.

Old and interesting property with a very large and well appointed bedroom.

The large four poster bed was very comfortable but I found the pillows too firm even though there were dozens of cushions on the bed! It was very warm in the room but due to the proximity to a busy road it was too noisy to have the windows open once the traffic started to build up early morning

Good location for the area, lots of parking available, good beer. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The decor was old fashioned with some interesting furniture pieces which I liked. WiFi was good, towels included a flannel which is rare now, as well as bathrobes in the wardrobe - nice touch! The English breakfast was superb, and the staff were funny and very accomodating.

The shower was a little weaker then I like, but the bathroom was very clean and well appointed.

Staff were brilliant, we had a lovely welcome and a great evening meal on both nights. As the breakfast times were later on the weekend and we needed to be at an early event, they arranged for the kitchen to do us sausage, and bacon rolls to take with us on both mornings of our stay. That was an excellent bit of customer service. I'd thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Music from the bar below was a little loud in our room on the Saturday night but it stopped by 11pm.

There was a lovely vibe to this old inn, the decor and atmosphere and it was quite busy the evening I stayed with people eating and drinking but wasn't noisy or brash. The staff were, every single one of them, kind, helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure you had a great experience. I only down graded comfort from excellent to good as I had to work there and the chair would not fit under either desk so it made using my laptop very uncomfortable but the other facilities in the room including complimentary robes, fresh milk for tea and coffee and lovely comfortable bed compensated for this. I had to ask for a hairdryer as there wasn't one in the room but this was a minor inconvenience soon resolved. Would recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Very friendly manager of the place. The place is very quiet during the night and the pub itself was not noisy. Room was very nicely furnished and comfortable and big enough. We did not eat there just had a drink and breakfast in the morning. Nice little village and not far from Newport. I would recommend it for a stop.

Nothing much really. I thought that there were a couple of things like handles missing from some furniture, and our toilet seat was usable but broken, but these were minor things, and the place was very nice.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely with a plush carpet and a warm ambience. The room was serviced to a very high standard- the best I’ve experienced. The food was to a high standard with plenty of choice in the evening.

It’s not a serious criticism but a little more choice at breakfast would be good.
