The staff were very friendly we needed extra milk which was brought to our room. The breakfast basket was a nice idea just for a quick snack in the morning. We had a meal at Jordan's which was lovely and very good portions, value for money. The property was clean & tidy. The room was good sized and comfortable. We had a good night's sleep on both nights.
The bedroom we stayed in was at the side where the traffic lights are so we had a little road noise. The bedroom had a mock four poster bed which was very comfortable. There were 2 broken panes on the original sash window, we couldn't get the sash to stay open so we compromised by putting a bottle of water to stop it shutting. There was secondary glazing but the room was very warm and we needed fresh air. The decor was ok but the carpet was marked. We were told the property was empty for 12 months and the current owner is trying to update it as and when he can.

Really good location for exploring West Midlands! Lovely staff and the pub looked good unfortunately we arrived too late to eat there The room was a good space and very comfortable! With all the necessities like a vanity space, lots of clothing storage, hair dryer and iron! So would be good for longer stays. They had drinks and a breakfast basket in the room, which was such a lovely touch! I prefer it to going down for breakfast as me and the hubby had a lovely little breakfast in bed, and with check out being 11, it really made it an easy morning for us and we didn't have to talk to anyone! Staff were really welcoming and easygoing Parking was good, no issues! Check in, and check out was easy and simple
The bathroom was a little small in our room as the toilet was only a little bit away from the wall, so you had to squeeze in a bit. It wasn't a problem for us, just something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Literally nothing else we would say we didn't like! We only stayed for 1 night but it was such a perfect place to stay to have a little get away!

I can't believe the quality of the room I got for only £45.00!! The room was very well appointed & super-clean. I didn't expect a fridge in there, let alone it being stocked with goodies. Likewise, the amazing breakfast hamper for 2!! Will, who greeted me upon arrival, was so warm, welcoming & engaging. He immediately offered to carry my bag to my room, which was greatly appreciated!! The bed was lovely & comfortable, so I rested well during the few hours I was there. In summary, the Old Olerton Inn has been a great find for me, & I would definitely recommend it to others. I also look forward to a return visit whenever I'm working in the Shrewsbury & surrounding areas!!
That I couldn't stay longer!!

1.The toilet was not flashing properly. 2.No basic soap aprt from little shampoo and hand cream. 3.Very little space between the toilet sit and toilet door. Shower cubical was spacious enough. 4.I was told my room was an upgrade, for the reasons i mentioned above i believe thats why i was given the upgrade maybe someone had complained about it. 5.The the room was clean but it could do with clean curtains. 6.My room was on the corner bothe 2 windors facing the road on each side. It was noisy. 7.Windors could do with lace curtains for more privacy and blackout curtains as it brightains out early. 8.Could do with a fan as it was too hot and could not open the windows due to too much noise. 9. bed linen and bed was very comfortable 10. breakfast hamper was lovely and the little drinks in the fridge was nice. Overal i will rate it 7/10 It could do with a bit of improvement.

This accommodation truly exceeded our expectations. Our room (Room 12 on the top floor) was beautiful, clean, and spacious, with a warm and welcoming feel. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was wonderfully quiet for a good night’s sleep. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the fridge, kettle, and a lovely little breakfast basket. In the evening, we headed down to the bar, which had a great atmosphere and a diverse crowd. We sat playing cards and soaking it all in—such a fun vibe! Check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was also plenty of free parking, which was a big bonus. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area!
We liked everything here!

We were greeted by friendly staff when we arrived and everyone we met was really friendly and helpful. It was very easy to find and had a beautiful garden where we sat out for most of the evening as it was a really hot day. It had said that there was no breakfast so it was a lovely surprise to find a breakfast hamper of goodies, and a fridge with a little bottle of milk, some yoghurts and some cold water.
We loved it. It is right on a main road so the noise might upset some people ,but we live on a main road ourselves so are used to it.

Needed an overnight stop near Shrewsbury . Good location easy to find just off the A5/M54 at edge of Wellington . An old inn that seems to have been well renovated and they are working to and achieving good standards . Decent sized , well furnished double . Comfy bed . Immaculately clean room and small ensuite with fluffy towels . Good attention to detail . Fridge with comp tea coffee kettle , milk , orange juice , water , yoghurt and nice breakfast basket ( as they don’t do breakfast ) . Staff friendly and helpful . Small bar and couple of lounges . Would def recommend and stay again . Good vfm
Website doesn’t make clear restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday ( we stayed Monday) thst said The Wickett Inn is a mile up road and serves very good quality food all 7 days and the Monday - Friday menu is 2 courses for £ 15 3 for £18 and great food choices/ well cooked and presented - so an excellent combination for an overnight stay .

The Old Orleton Inn offers a refreshingly authentic and charming alternative to the typical franchise hotels where you often feel like you've "seen one, seen them all." From the moment you step in, the attention to detail from the staff is evident. They're welcoming, attentive, and genuinely care about making your stay special, which sets this inn apart from the more impersonal service found in chain hotels. The interior is wonderfully cozy, with a blend of traditional charm and modern comforts that make you feel right at home. Every corner seems thoughtfully designed, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxation. One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic complimentary breakfast basket. It's a delightful touch, filled with fresh muffins, porridge, apples, yogurt, milk, and orange juice. It’s the perfect start to your day, offering both convenience and a taste of quality. An unexpected but very pleasant surprise was the restaurant located on the ground floor. The food is exceptional, far surpassing typical hotel dining options, making it a destination in itself. Whether you're staying the night or just popping in for a meal, this restaurant is worth a visit.
One small area for improvement would be the addition of blackout curtains in the rooms. While the rooms are comfortable and cozy, the current curtains allow some light in, which may be a slight issue for light-sensitive sleepers.

Lovely old property very well modernised and the interior was beautifully finished off . Gardens were lovely and staff very welcoming. As there are no kitchens at present the idea of a breakfast basket was perfect. The manager was very good it was interesting hearing his plans as only just refurbished and reopened recently.
No fixed shower. Also no hairdryer so if we had used shower as a hand shower we had no way of drying our hair. So used to finding a hairdryer in hotel didn't think to ask and bring our own! It will.be so much better when restaurant reopens which we understand will be very soon.
