The room was very spacious and bed very comfortable. Having a bar and resturant in the same building The Barns have been restored to a very high standard. We loved the meals and staff were really helpful and really looked after us

The bathroom wash hand basin did not have a plug in the sink that worked. So to wash or use it for shaving was impossible. Also the flusher in the wall beside the WC was very stiff and I had to push it with both hands to give the right pressure to flush the toilet properly. Definitely needs a plumber to check out this room

This was a comfortable hotel, quite well placed for an overnight stop on a journey from south to north. There was plenty of parking available, and my room was clean and comfortable. The dinner in the bar area was pleasant and reasonable value for money.

It was a bit disconcerting to see a sign asking guests to remove their work boots before going from reception towards the bedrooms. The breakfast choice was fine, but I did not like the sausage or beans - and the portion of beans was far too big in relation to the other elements of the cooked breakfast.

The look and location was beautiful

The staff. Especially the staff who were on duty for breakfast. None of them were very pleasant or helpful. We were left standing waiting to be seated for a 3 or 4 minutes with no staff around at all then when a lady eventually turned up it felt like she was irritated by us. Just told us to go sit down and then shouted across the room to just sit at a table. When she came to ask if we wanted tea or coffee etc she slammed the glass of juice on the table. We felt like a burden.

The barns was a lovely place to stay , the rooms exceeded our expectations , were early nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. The showers were powerful , spacious and hot. The food in the lounge was superb and fairly priced. In our case the location was superb as it was near to our working destination, but I couldn’t comment further about its links to nearby areas. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The WiFi was a bit wobbly but the mobile signal was great so just switched to a hotspot for a bit of productivity. Wouldn’t hesitate to come again, for business or for pleasure.thanks for a great stay.

WiFi-but that’s being picky.

The property was immaculate , staff polite and helpful.

We booked for one night and seeing as it was our Anniversary the day after asked to stay another night. The room we were first allocated was perfect , however to stay an extra night we had to vacate to another room which was not as nice and the same price. We were told it was because of the twin room we were staying in, but was told 18 rooms were available , surely they had another twin room? It was an inconvenience and annoying paying for a ‘ not so nice’ room.

Clean and comfortable room, hot shower, Good location. Tasty hot and cold choices available for breakfast. gave us early check-in which helped, because we were attending a wedding reception nearby.

No bottles of water available in room which I think is important to have, especially when paying £125 a night. No biscuits to go with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast menu: O nly had scrambled egg option available on menu, so asked if I could have a fried egg which they eventually done for me. Never experienced that before, there should always be options for how you can have egg cooked on a breakfast wherever you stay.

I have stayed at the Barns for the last 3 years, always lives up to expectations, all rooms are comfortable and roomy

arriving around 14.00 to 15.00 car park is always full of parents cars collecting their children from the school across from the hotel, which makes trying to get in and out of the hotel car park a nightmare, plus they take the limited car parking spaces that should be for the paying guests of the hotel.. I think this should be looked at for the future, as this puts me off a little when checking into the Barns

Easy parking, friendly staff, from the reception, through to breakfast, all the staff were chatty and helpful. The room we were given was a good size, it was clean, well appointed with a very comfortable king-size bed, pleasant decoration and a huge walk in shower. Breakfast was included, it was cooked to order, hot and a good sized portion 😊 continental breakfast options and cereal were also available. If we have reason to travel this way again, we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel in general was very good and on a par with the mid budget chain hotels such as Holiday Inn and Best Western but had the feel of a small independent hotel. The room was very tidy and clean, as was the bathroom which was only let down by not having a toilet roll holder and having to dislocate my shoulder to reach the toilet roll which was situated behind me when sitting. The bar area was also very clean and cosy but very well stocked with a wide range of draught and bottled drinks alike. For me breakfast was a little disappointing though. The quality of the food was very good but there was not enough of it. I like to get a good breakfast inside me when staying hotels that will get me through the day but only received 1 sausage and 1 egg where a couple at least is the norm. In addition, toast had to be requested, which, in itself is not a bad thing, it does make you a little self conscious that you are being overly greedy. Overall though i must say i was very impressed with the hotel and would certainly consider staying in the future.

There was a wedding taking place at the same time as our stay. this wasn't a huge problem as they were in a separate function room but there were times when groups were gathered on the landing area outside of the bedrooms which made it difficult to navigate past them. It would have been nice if this had been communicated to us prior to staying which wouldn't have especially changed our mind, it would at least have warned us that there could be some slight disruption

Plenty of parking and clean hotel. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was made up each day with fresh towels. Restaurant handy for evening meals. Located near superb Indian restaurant and a Miller & Carter steakhouse.

Tried to shorten stay as we finished the works earlier than expected but couldn't due to way we had booked. Will book differently or directly next time. Breakfast was good but table service was awkward and we usually went up to the bar to refill orange juice.
