When we arrived, we saw food being served and it looked amazing. Bed was very comfortable and beautiful bathroom.

No signage for room 11 (or 12 for that matter)! Few bits missing from the room but met the loveliest housekeeping lady Saturday. She was so kind and nothing too much trouble. There was only 1 member of staff serving breakfast Sunday so we had to wait a while. That didn’t matter to us as we weren’t in a hurry. The member of staff left to run everything was superb! She didn’t stopped for a second to ensure everyone was looked after. I hope you tell her how fab we thought she was! It’s a shame to have to watch someone being put in that position and not fun to watch her juggling an incredible amount. 10am checkout too early and seems unusual these days. Hotel stays are for leisurely lie-ins, not clock watching the checkout time. A few tweets would make this place excellent.

Lovely pub. Lovely location. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding, Huge portion. Really good quality sausage and bacon . Plenty of parking. The room was large and spotlessly clean. Great value for money. Staff very friendly.

Room 7 overlooked the rear car park which was generally quiet except when the bin lorry turned up at 730 and tipped three loads of bottles into the back. Also there were extractors and Aircon units for the kitchen situated outside just outside the bedroom windows all starting up at 7am with an almighty roar. Might be ok in winter when the bedroom window is kept shut. It had to be open for my visit as the weather was warm and there was no room aircon. Staff were very friendly but a little over stretched

The staff were very nice and accommodating. We needed extra fans and a room change due to the road traffic. Our first room was right on the road and we had to keep the windows open due to the heat wave. The food was fabulous. I loved being able to eat right there. Breakfast lunch and dinner were all tremendous. The breakfast was included and was abundant. I had the Burrata salad for dinner and had to go back and eat it again for lunch the next day. Prices were very reasonable.

I really can't say I disliked something other than we stayed during a heat wave and the rooms were very hot.

From the moment we arrived , the staff made us feel at home . The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting , with thoughtful gestures and touches . Our room was clean , cosy and comfortable . Beautifully decorated . Breakfast was plentiful in choice and cooked to perfection . A perfect spot for our needs . Thank you. A great place to stay in Penkridge .

one tiny suggestion : the blackboards displaying room numbers , only went up to 10, which caused a little confusion for us in room 12 . Especially , as we were late into the evening , entering to find our room , carrying cases up stairs , unsure if they were heading the right way . It didnt cause any real issues , but a quick update to the signage would make the experience even smoother .

Excellent sized room. Stayed in a superior double on the 2nd floor which had a large bedroom and large bathroom with lovely high ceilings.

The sound of the extractor/cooling fans from outside was noticeable but didn't affect my sleep. Evening staff were very friendly and helpful but the morning staff member at check out was on the computer. Didn't look up or even acknowledge I was waiting to check out. In the end a member of domestic staff addressed me and helped with check out EDIT: I received a phonecall from the hotel explaining the situation at check out. The member of staff wasn't front of house staff but has been advised on customer service. This follow up on the review was important and I have amended this review

A very old building with interesting features. Our bedroom was comfortable and clean with good en-suite facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar and restaurant was well designed-bright and welcoming without losing the charm of an old hostelry. We ate there and the food was excellent both at dinner and at breakfast the following morning, though expect to enjoy a leisurely meal. This is not fast food, though the service was friendly and attentive.

It is on a busy road, so don’t expect peace and quiet. We stayed on a hot day and found the room stuffy. The sash window would not stay open and there was too much noise anyway. There was a small desk fan, but this was not sufficient to cool the room. This hotel is dog friendly and personally I would have preferred that there was a dedicated eating area where dogs are allowed.

The evening meal was absolutely gorgeous, the pub is stunning and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The vibe in the pub was busy and friendly and really enjoyable. The breakfast was out of this world! We couldn't believe it was included in the price!!! Great coffee too! I have already recommended The Littleton Arms to 2 friend who travel North from London as a great Gem of a place to stay. We will most definitely be staying again on our way up to visit my son at Liverpool University. JUST GORGEOUS!

There was nothing not to like

Very large old pub but was gorgeous inside. The beer garden was lovely with flowers and lovely tables. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious here and big portions. The room was expected. Bed was comfortable. There was traffic noise but it is on a busy road. The traffic noise died down later and we slept well. I think the hotel deserves a better rating. I would stay again here definitely.

Just the hairdryer misdng from the room but one was brought up to me no problem

The bar and restaurant are spacious and friendly staff greet you and explain everything. Dinner of sea bass and veg was delicious. The building is quirky with low doors and sloping floors and there is presently refurbishments going on but this wasn't a problem. The bed was comfy but as the room was so warm had to keep the window open which was above the hotel's noisy extractor. I would stay again but not in room 9. Great coffee at breakfast.

Breakfast poached eggs were a little overdone and there were 4 of them, bit of a waste as I couldn't eat that many.

There was a warm welcome when I arrived The bedroom I was given Room 6 was perfect for the night - lovely and clean , bed was 7/10 comfortable , also had extra pillows - shower room was spacious and clean - water in the shower wasn’t really warm but was adequate The main bonus of staying here is a the lovely food It’s incredibly close to the M6 and hugely convenient as an overnight stop

Room 6 seems to be rather close to a water tank which kept filling up so a bit noisy I couldn’t open the window for fresh air
