Excellent location, friendly and hospitable staff who all went the extra mile. Gave advice when asked and told us about a hide gem! Gave clear instructions about checking out, how to access the terrace from our room, where to find the wifi code, everything was superb! Such a beautiful and characteristic building. I love that they have kept all the old features, which bring the smell of authenticity and history 🤗
Only let down was the decor of the terrace. Needs a lick of paint and a quick tidy up/ rearrange of furniture, then it's all 5 perfect for us.

It’s a pub, very friendly feels comfortable staying there. Easy to get in and out after hours. Right opposite coffeehouse for breakfast. I also like I could adjust the heating with an old style radiator. Nice and simple and effective.
I like a decent coffee maker and I also like a bigger room - but next time ( and I def plan on staying again) I’ll bring one and frankly the rooms are what you’d expect in an old building in an old historic town. If a big room was that important to me I’d stay in a new build in Milton Keynes…

I just wanted a base for the djangofest and it was ideal, I'm disabled with back conspiring so good bed and shower crucial, both were provided, with easy tea and coffee making, a hairdryer, ironing board, space for hanging clothes and cupboards, a radiator, was never cold, no problem coming in late after gigs. Highly recommend.
Not much, I wouldn't stay long in pub but only as I had placed to visit, nice smoking garden and rooftop garden to get away from hustle and bustle. Bit noisy mid eve but only usual for pub.

Amazing People, Location, Room, Cask Ale, Bed, & More! The Vaults ideal location right at the old medieval city walls made for perfect access to the curiosities of Shrewsbury. Jason and the rest of the staff were welcoming, with a great sense of merriment and affability. I'd love to go back and stay there for a week or two, to just soak in the life of this ancient town. I really can't think of anything that could have been better. What more can a soul want than excellent cask ales, fine people, and the most charming outdoor beer garden? And the beer garden is three-tiered, no less!
I can't think of anything that disappointed. You'll love this quaint, REAL place and people! Thank you!

The room was super comfy, the location is fantastic, it's right by the station and basically right in town. The staff were really great and I had a lovely stay!
This didn't bother me too much but as the room is right above the main part of the pub and the window goes to the front of the pub, the noise at the weekends was quite loud. Not hugely an issue for me but some may find that bothersome.

No complaints, staff were helpful and friendly, allowing us to leave our bags with them before check in, so we didn't need to carry them round when we went for walk. Kettle with teabags, milk and, sugar provided in the room and additional milk provided upon request. Room was simple, but clean and everything worked as it should. Which was all we needed for a single night stay. Good location. Just a short walk from the train station, town centre, and theatre (which was the purpose of our trip) Price very reasonable compared to other venues.

For the location + the modest outward look I got much more then I expected. I apologize if that is a bit rude,ie I wasn't expecting my room to be so nice, but it was great and I could comfortably have stayed there more than one night if I'd been in the area longer. From an efficient welcome to everything working and nothing wonky, and super clean it was/is a place I'd recommend if you're going through Shrewsbury as it's a minute away from the train station one way,the bus station t'other way and there is a car park nearby.
It was all fine. Would recommend to anyone.

Easy check, no fuss. Location very good for me as it was only a couple of hundred yards or so from the town centre. Accommodation was right under the castle and just around the corner from the train station. Bed was comfortable.
Nothing in particular as far as I was concerned. Was looking for something basic yet comfortable and that is exactly what I got. Checking out process was even quicker than checking in also.

This was the third or fourth time I've stayed at The Vaults. It is right beside the railway station in Shrewsbury and very convenient for everywhere in the town. I booked the top floor as it is the biggest of the rooms. It costs a tenner more but well worth it for the extra space. The room and bathroom were spotless, and the shower was fantastic after a hard night on the town. I know the town and was meeting friends so didn't need any information but the staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there next time I visit.
There was nothing to dislike. It is a town center pub so noise is expected at night and they restock in the mornings but that is to be expected too. They have a DJ on Friday and Saturday until midnight so it may not be suitable for an elderly couple or those with young children. However I went to meet mates for a reunion so staying in a pub was perfect.

Close proximity to train station and walking distance to everything. Easy check in/out process and owners allowed us to leave our luggage at 12pm so we could explore.
The room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke. Not sure if this is because it was next to upstairs outdoor bar area (which wasn't operating during our stay), or was drifting up from smokers downstairs. Bed was comfortable and room was neat and tidy.
