carpark is very tight but it has got a carpark so all very good as trying to park on a pubic carpark they don’t seem to do 24hr parking off one payment so got to be to vehicle early in morning not ideal! So really recommend this hotel 👍

The location was excellent close to the town centre and close to the beautiful river and bridges. The staff were fantastic especially woody the night porter unfortunately through no fault of the hotel, there was some essential water works that needed to be carried out just outside our hotel, they were suppose to be finished by 10.30pm but this was not the case and the workmen decided they needed to blast their music out of their vans by 11.30pm we couldn't take any more and our very kind and apologetic night porter woody offered us an upgraded room at the back of the hotel. (The loft suite) Wow lovely room . And we were able to enjoy our stay.

A very stylish hotel. The rooms are well appointed with good quality teas and coffees as well as delicious homemade(?) biscuits. Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. A bottle of water was on our bedside table. The bedside lights are cute - shaped like old-fashioned oil lamps (but electric of course!) Bathroom was quite roomy with a good shower. We ate dinner at the hotel on both nights and the food was delicious. The waiting staff were charming and friendly. The location is great - everything delightful about Shrewsbury is within easy walking distance. Having a car park is a big bonus too.

The only downside is that the room was rather hot. There is no air conditioning and there were two fans in our room which helped although a bit noisy through the night. We had a room at the front of the hotel over the main road, so opening windows wasn't an option. The TV is rather small but this is a minor quibble.

Beautifully furnished, has a real boutique hotel feel. Staff were lovely and responded quickly to questions. We stayed in the superior double room and there was a small bed for my daughter in the alcove of the room. It was perfect. Restaurant was great too for dinner. Good to book in advance … pretty good breakfast included in our rate … some very quaint pubs a stones throw away

Nothing! Not really a negative however good to note that the entrance to the hotel parking is pretty tight (there’s a reason you can only turn right into the entrance!) however I’ve stayed twice in two weeks and both times got a spot. We had a wide Volvo and was fine! There’s an NCP car park almost opposite though if all else fails.

Perfect location, very helpful and friendly staff, great food.

Parking is through a narrow arch so watch out if you have a big car, we have a current 3-series BMW and it was a tight fit. The window in the bedroom was locked shut which was uncomfortable in the heat, especially at night when some fresh air would have been nice. The bathroom window will open but it's not as good and lets light in if you leave the bathroom door open to allow the air in. Some net curtains in the bathroom would be nice - it's partly-frosted but is overlooked by the buildings opposite, so watch your modesty.

Parking plus a very short walk to centre. Lovely décor. Very professional staff and present at all times - no waiting required. Bar staffed at all times and even did cocktails. Outdoor area for drinks plus lovely choice of rooms inside to sit and drink/snack. Breakfast was great and with a huge pot of tea/coffee. Toiletries provided plus loads of hot drinks supplies, iron, hairdryer, TV, fan, earplugs, bottle of water. Everything!

Bed was very hard and room was very hot. The fan worked a treat for me but not my other half. ( I appreciate that the hotel can’t prevent global warming!

The hotel was comfortable and had a nice feel. We were given 2 rooms as the first one had no working electrics. The 2nd room was much nicer and was on the corner of the building so not as noisy as I think the first one would have been which was right on the main street. I understand that there's nothing the hotel can do about that. We didn't eat there so can't comment on that.

The bar prices were very high and I think £15 for breakfast is very expensive when I would only have had tea and toast. There should be a different price for continental breakfast. We had 5 drinks during out stay and that cost £37 which is London prices.

The hotel itself is very quaint with lots of lovely spaces downstairs, the breakfast room is particularly characterful. The room was very comfortable, with lots of nice touches i.e homemade biscuits. The breakfast was excellent as were the staff at breakfast.

My room was quite noisy as it was by the road and the building has original windows, but it didn't wake me up. The room was quite small, but perfect for me as I was travelling alone - might have felt cramped with two.

Great location to explore the lovely town of Shrewsbury

These things are not meant to criticize but rather suggestions for improvement. We had the loft room, which was lovely, however a few things affected our sleep. We were unable to access the high window in the room to pull the blind down, which made it very bright in the morning. There was a stair light which we couldn't turn off which was also very bright. Someone decided to put the bins out at 6.40am, very noisy! One final point, it would be really useful to have a power point near the mirror, for hair drying etc.

The hotel was very nice and welcoming. The room was a good size with ample wardrobe space and a comfortable bed. We were not expecting a 4 poster bed so that was a really nice surprise - especially as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary! The bathroom was nice and very clean. We had an ample daily supply of teas, coffees and biscuits in our room. The hotel was tastefully decorated and well looked after by the staff. The breakfast choice was very good and it was very nice.
