The hotel was in a lovely location, within a short walk of the Iron Bridge, shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The Ironbridge Gorge museums are all a short drive away and some are within easy walking distance. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice and the food was excellent with plenty of gluten-free options. There was a good choice of hot and cold breakfast options and the hot food on the buffet was very well-prepared. The room we stayed in was a good size, it was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We travelled by train, but there was plenty of parking at the hotel for those who had travelled by car. It was lovely weather during our stay so it was ideal for sitting outside in the garden for a drink in the evenings.

We stayed for a long weekend and there was a wedding on the Saturday night which we weren't warned about in advance. Our bedroom was above the function room, so the music was very loud. It wasn't possible to sleep until it stopped (which was at around midnight). However, when it did stop there was no other sound at all from the wedding guests who were staying overnight, so that was very considerate of them.

location at river with easy access to park and paths to the iron bridge. Super clean common indoor and outdoor areas and room. Very nice garden. Quiet. Reception staff very efficient and friendly. Lift to upper floor. Good and plenty off-road parking.

Outdoor tables all non-smoking, so no outdoor seat & table provided for vapers, who are not smokers. Continental breakfast buffet: serving plate with croissants and pastries was twice empty and not replaced. Better monitoring would be welcome. Low quality jam. Freshly baked bread choice would be nice. Cheese choice poor (who eats Stilton for breakfast?), a soft cheese would be nice. No ham offered.

It is situated in gardens which extent to a park down to the river. The room and bathroom were spacious. A lovely “grand” house with peaceful atmosphere. Dinner in the restaurant was very tasty and we enjoyed it. The portions were fine for us but a younger person would have found them small.

Being an older house, the stairs to the third floor with many fire doors which when you have luggage are difficult. I know nothing can be done or the house would loose some of the charm. Breakfast was disappointing. The sausages weren’t good and I noticed other people left them too. Had to ask for fruit, no fruit yogurts left or pastries for an 8.00 breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Valley Hotel last week. The hotel is in a great location for walking into Ironbridge and is set amongst beautify scenery. The room was clean and comfortable, the restaurant and bar were lovely with amazing food and views. But what really set the hotel apart was the staff - from reception to the bar, restaurant and housekeeping, all were exceptionally friendly, accommodating and helpful. Special thanks to Chris and the other man who was on reception duty on Monday and Tuesday night (apologies we didn’t get his name), for going above and beyond in recommending garages when we needed to have an emergency car repair. Their recommendations were very reassuring when we don’t know the area and they were extremely kind and considerate in following up with us afterwards. We will definitely stay again!

Clean, well-run hotel in an old set of buildings close by the River Severn. The breakfast is first-rate with good quality ingredients and the restaurant was probably the best of the places we ate in for dinner in Ironbridge. It's a couple of minutes walk from the bus stop if you're coming by public transport (96 or 8 from Telford). It's 5-10 min to the town centre & the iron bridge itself, about 15 min to Coalbrookdale museums (and the excellent pub opposite) and 30-odd min to the Jackfield tile museum along the Severn path.

We could have stood a stronger blast from the shower, but it's an old building and it was perfectly manageable.

Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was good, everything you would expect in a buffet style breakfast. Location was great.

Attic shaped double room was a bit small. It was very hot and stuffy as the windows were quite small and did not open very wide. There was a fan provided which was a necessity. . If we were returning, we would book a bigger room. The temperature control in the shower was difficult to work initially, scalding hot water!

Fantastic location and beautiful setting, within its lovely garden, down to the river. A friendly welcome each time we saw any staff, which is always nice too. Our room was perfect and breakfast was very good too, as cooked to order as well as some fresh fruit, cereals and mini pastries and whilst the non cooked selection wasn't huge, it was good quality and more than expected from a 3* hotel. In fact better than a buffet offering we had recently at a 4* hotel.

The room was a little tired but it did not detract from a comfortable stay and for the price I feel it was great value.

The meat sausages and bacon were good. Stunning location with gardens and riverside setting close to fascinating places to visit. Preservation of some historical architecture is great. Tiles are stunning. Most of staff very friendly and helpful particularly Mel. Excellent value evening meal with very good vegan choices. Comfortable bed. Free WiFi.

The most disappointing aspect of the stay. Not enough choice particularly for vegans. This was surprising because the evening meal was excellent for vegans. The meat sausages and bacon were good. The decaf coffee was not very good. The fruit salad was bland. There were not enough pastries. The jars of jam are tiny and very wasteful of resources. The Jackfield is a slightly depressing space with tired decor and a cars against the window. (Re breakfast). Bathroom had a very strong sulphurous smell at times possibly coming up from bath drain..

This is such a lovely hotel. It is set in a pretty area around a 10 - 15 minute stroll from the centre of Ironbridge, or less if you walk quickly. You can walk beside the river through the gardens and park, instead of along the road if you prefer. The excellent breakfast is buffet style with lots of options: continental, cereals and cooked. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was enough wardrobe space for our 5 night stay. The location was perfect for exploring locally and further afield. The staff were so pleasant , they always check to see that everything is alright and were very helpful. There was a minor problem with the hot water one evening but it was sorted immediately. There is plenty of parking space as there is an overflow car park that can be used if there is a wedding on. If you have mobility issues then you may need to request a ground floor room or be able to use the lift as there are some steps inside and outside. You can use alternative routes without steps to some of the bedrooms. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

There is a portable fan to use if the room is too warm, it would be such a bonus if there was air conditioning but I suspect that as it is an old building the bedrooms may not be able to have air conditioning put in.

The overall look of the hotel - loved the mock streets leading to the stairs. The hotel was very clean throughout and very comfortable. We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent - some very interesting dishes all prepared to a good standard and once again, the service was extremely good. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable and gave us all we wanted. This is first time we have stayed in a Best Western hotel and we were very impressed, therefore, we will look at BWs for future breaks.

The pillows were strange - very floppy and small. The room and bathroom were very, very hot, we did mention it to reception and they asked maintenance to take a look, there was an immediate improvement but it was still very warm, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't seem to be very effective which turned it into a sauna every time we had a shower. These were small issues and would not prevent us booking again.
