Beautiful property, the room was stunning and so were the views- we didn’t want to leave! It was so nice looking out over nature and so quiet and tranquil. The spa bath was incredible and I don’t think I’ve stayed somewhere with staff so lovely and helpful before. Shrewsbury itself is a lovely place, with so much historical value. Everything you’d need is between 5-15 minutes drive from the property. There are even donkeys and ducks around the front which was nice too!
We weren’t massively impressed with the food we had on the Friday, it wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best, and if the food being mediocre is the only remotely bad thing I think that’s saying something - there’s plenty of places to eat nearby anyway!

I think the key point on this property is it is a venue first and foremost for weddings, etc. Thusly if one is expecting a hotel bar / restaurant (though pre booking of food is possible, according to the message I got) this is not going to happen. There is also not a 24 hour front desk, alas they do have a system in place and the property does seem very well run so this is a positive point assuming one has the correct expectations. The property is beautiful with easy parking and a decent room. The hotel nearly empty when I stayed so very peaceful!
I tried to call a few times and no one picked up the phone, it also took a fair amount of time to get messages back. £10 for the pre booked continental breakfast etc seems a lot (I opted out).

The Room , Decor, Shower Large but low bath, complementary well water bottles, coffee tea biscuit choice . Parking. Dinner Quality and service
Lone Driver from Distance . Not possible to legally follow directions . Booking com map location was 3 miles away and also good distance off-road . Arrived in locality nearly 1 hour before able to find . Car and iPhone sat navs gave completely wrong location . On arrival after seeking local verbal advice the sat nav named the location as Manor Farm .

Good location, excellent price, friendly, helpful staff, clean and tidy room, excellent dinner in the restaurant
Walls are paper thin resulting in a lot of noise from other guests coming into and out of rooms, plus loud fans in bathrooms meant I couldn't sleep very well - An adjacent room used the bathroom and shower just after 5am and it was pretty loud in my room. The curtains were also very thin and still allow a lot of light in which is a problem early in the morning at this time of year and no doubt throughout summer.

Dinner was by way of doing a preorder and was simple comfort food. Very nice, but nothing specil and limited choice. Nothing vegetarian or gluten or dairy free which is my norm. Breakfast was also satisfactory. Very good eggs on offer.
More variety on both dinner and breakfast to include other dietary needs and healthy eating. Some avocado and poached eggs on toast for example, or smoked salmon/haddock or kippers. Some porridge perhaps would all make it better. The same goes for the evening meal - a greater choice to include a veggie and some healthier options would have been helpful

Had standard double room which was well equipped and clean. Had everything needed. Surroundings were lovely and a stunning historical building. Staff were all excellent and friendly. Dog friendly and easy check in and check out. Did not dine as only very limited menu and only option for continental breakfast which we also did not take but looked good for the price. Easy drive into Shrewsbury.
Only issue was with the bed in the room which was comfy but noisy springs when moving.

This hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the building itself is stunning. The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable, a wonderful gentleman opened up the quiet room with a bar for us as there was a function on that evening and it was busy. He sat and chatted to us, served us drinks including a pot of of coffee. We met the owner Paul and chatted with him too. Overall we had a wonderful, comfortable stay in a warm, inviting environment and we will definitely be returning.
I found the lighting could be better in the room even though there were lots of lamps, and the hairdryer needed updating. The key for our door had piece of wood on it with the door number, very difficult to slip into a little handbag or pocket. To be honest we had nothing to complain about.

The staff were fantastic , they were friendly and helpful . The location is stunning .
I thought the food prices were a bit high . £16 for a bowl of pasta ? I was also disappointed with my cooked breakfast as for £15 I feel it should have been larger . Also, my poached egg was overcooked. I realise I could have asked for it to be changed, but I didn't want to make a fuss. Despite this, I would definitely return as I really enjoyed my stay .

Surroundings are very tranquil. The building is beautiful, the staff are really nice. The rooms are very comfortable and all you need is in them.
The breakfast was £15 extra for full English, 1 sausage, 2 bacon, and 1 egg with a few mushrooms. (I don't like beans, tomato) was told i could not substitute those for an extra egg. I think £15 is quite a lot for smallish breakfast. But what was there was noce

Absolutely beautiful setting. Peaceful. Staff were all helpful. They were doing pizza for the evening meal and they were really lovely. Room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed.
It wasn't very clear where we were meant to dine, we kept getting pointed in the direction of the dining room but there was no one there. We ended up having to be served outside. Though it was a warm evening so it was ok. Facilities were a little odd in the bedroom with the tea and coffee etc in the wardrobe so lighting wasn't great.
