Hospitality at its best. Loved this cosy luxury country house hotel. Stayed one night with husband and 2 year old son. This hotel might not be the first hotel a family with a young child would consider but the staff had thought of everything. There was a changing mat, nappy bin and even a little bathrobe for our toddler. They helped me organise a babysitter so that we were able to dine at their amazing restaurant the Fernery. Think The Pig and I'enclume and add a bit of warmth. We loved everything about this hotel. Big fireplaces, large comfy sofas and lovely, uniquely decorated rooms. Staff were all lovely and friendly, especially the staff at the Fernery.

Beautiful grounds. Attentive staff. Sophisticated dining menu even in casual restaurant. Entrees better than appetizers. Too bad there’s no specials. Powerful shower and comfortable bed. It was easy to travel to many wonderful beaches and seaside towns. We had great trips to Skomer island, Picton castle, lily ponds and so on.
Our booking.com reservation didn’t include breakfast.£60 per breakfast was hard to justify especially when you could go to fantastic bakery in town for very high quality pastries and coffee. Room was under the roof and there was no airflow, we had to open all the windows, duvet was very heavy for summer. Room was on a small side and had too much furniture which you couldn’t really use due to its small size.

The location was wonderful- scenic and peaceful. The room was well designed, lit and comfortable. The food in both restaurants was excellent. The mini-bar was complimentary, which makes a pleasant change.
Breakfast was too expensive (£30 a head) so we didn’t have it as we don’t generally have a lot for breakfast so couldn’t justify the price. When we arrived our room was spotless but the standard was unfortunately not maintained for the five days we stayed, which was disappointing. Although the lighting in the bedroom was good, additional lighting would be helpful for shaving/make-up. Service was mainly good and attentive but somewhat inconsistent, especially in the garden.

This is our second visit to the Grove, and we are very likely to come back again in the future. The location, staff, service, food and facilities are very good indeed.
Although, we selected a large room that has a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, there was very little space of about 30 cm to hang our clothes such as shirts and trousers. This must be improved. Secondly, at breakfast, we have to ask for salt and pepper, which should be on the table. In the bathroom wash basin there should be a sign to warn that hot water is very hot. There was no shower cap in the bathroom.

Wonderful property and suite. Well decorated abode with a nice wood stove all set up with kindling and wood!
They do not allow guests to control their own climate. The thermostats are locked and controlled by the manager. We like to turn the heat down to sleep and up to wake up. We could not do that. We stayed 2 nights, but could not get a reservation for dinner. For a 2 night stay, one would think that we could eat in the restaurant one of those nights. They do cater to events and outside of the hotel diner’s, which is why we could not get in as a paying guest.

Excellent service. Staff was very courteous and professional. Can see why it's been rated as number 1 small hotel in UK and 11 globally. Surroundings were amazing and setting across all locations in lobby, dinning were excellent. Our room was outstanding. We had the cottage with garden, and had living room, double bathroom, and all extra amenities.
Not much.

Beautiful hotel, restored from an old country house. Attention to detail and comfort are exceptional. The gardens and grounds are thoughtfully cared for, with wildflower meadows, ponds and wooded walks surrounding the hotel. A choice of comfortable outdoor seating, and a flourishing kitchen garden. The rooms are spacious and immaculate, and the staff are truly wonderful. I must also give a special mention to the chef, the food is of an exceptional standard, locally sourced and delicious. The hotel is also close to the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, and the town of Tenby, so you won’t be short of days out. It was hard to leave such a wonderful place.

Opulent, luxurious accommodation. Very comfortable and well appointed room in a cottage just round the corner from the main house. Gorgeous grounds, incredible walled flower garden and grounds. Fernery restaurant tasting menu was just superb (main reason we went). An expensive treat! Staff were fantastic and service was on point (not too much, not too little). It was very hot when we stayed and we asked for a fan, arrived in minutes.

From the moment we were welcomed at this beautiful hotel we knew our stay was going to be fantastic. Vicky and her team looked after us impeccably and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the wonderful Beca Suite which was amazing; four poster bed and roll top bath. Food was outstanding, both the evening meal in the relaxed Artisan room and breakfast the following day. The Grove and the staff were amazing and we can't wait to return.

We had a lovely stay here. The grounds are beautiful as well as the hotel. The staff are very warm and catering. Highly recommend!
We were staying in the main house and our only (minor) issue is that the rooms do not have air conditioning. (This of course is not unsual throughout the UK.) However, even with the windows fully opened, we did awake in the middle of night quite warm. (The room was 24C)
