The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant dinner was excellent, also the breakfast was very high quality, everything prepared fresh and a good choice. The room had recently been renovated, the bed was large and very comfortable, plenty of drawers available. The bathroom had a big walk in shower, and every thing was spotless. Lovely Big fluffy towels.

The stairs up to the room (15), this is a newly renovated area and rooms 14 & 15 are at the top of a very steep set of stairs, coming down these stairs I found difficult as there is not rail at the top. We also had an issue with the TV not working correctly, also no internet in that part of the hotel.

Plenty of parking. Good location for M6 near Penrith. Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy bar and restaurant with good selection of food and drinks. Bedroom was comfortable, clean and well appointed.

Bathroom wall shower was difficult to control and the water pressure was excessive. One of the two sinks was unusable due to a fault in the drainage plug which we reported for fixing.

Comfortable historic inn with cosy bar and restaurant. Conveniently located close to Penrith and local roads including M6, A6 and A66. Room 12 was impressive with fabulous bathroom , bedroom & lounge area. Plenty of parking in front of the building including one space for charging an EV.

Some road and rail noise in car park and rooms facing the road.

Good facilities, excellent customer service and great food.

Our large double room was great but there was a lack of comfortable seating. Even by Southern / London standards the food though very good was expensive. Breakfast was poor bacon and poached egg over-cooked whereas the sausage was under-cooked.

All of the staff were very welcoming, friendly, helpful, efficient with really sound customer care skills. The location was lovely and breakfast delicious with very good choices of food. Our room was very clean, bed comfy with lovely bed linen. We enjoyed our stay at The George and Dragon.

Old and atmospheric. Lots of very hot water and the shower had a proper moveable shower head which meant you didn’t have to get your hair wet every time you showered Comfy bed

The staff are great, they are very welcoming and make you feel part of the family. It was a great location to walk around Ullswater. We enjoyed having a walk in the afternoon and coming back to the cosy pub for an afternoon drink

The beds were a bit on the small side

Excellent food and wine, we had both dinner and breakfast which was delivered with style. our room was small but the bedding new and wonderful quality.

Comfortable pleasant room , tastefully furnished , quiet location close to Penrith. Friendly staff. Evening meal was very tasty with good size portions of locally sourced food

Everything was unreal, the food was out of this world and the staff were all second to none..great range of drinks served at the bar by a special barman micheal..great bloke...ive only just left and booked to go back already...this place is top notch.
