Peaceful rural location; comfortable, modern and clean rooms; good pub and food; friendly and accommodating bar staff.
Breakfasts were very good, but having to choose off-menu was limiting - it would’ve been good to also have a simple buffet option for cereals, toast, etc. Also, there was no hot water in the morning of my last day. Bad things happen occasionally and can’t be helped - it’s the reaction of the establishment that counts. In this case I had no one to notify, and my message attempt through Booking.com wasn’t answered. The only slight disappointment in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

A great, friendly stay in a clean and comfortable room with good shower room. Nice to see a local pub well frequented by locals, as well as visitors. Good evening menu with very good food, well presented and tasty. Cooked breakfast also good. All staff were welcoming.
Nothing really, even the sun was shining! Not quite the perfect 10, as the shower room door is a bit water damaged and breakfast the second morning not quite as good as the first morning (the muffin missing and DIY toast), and would be good if they had some juice available too, but I am being picky here!

Visited Duxford for the day and wanted somewhere closer to stay then night. This fitted the bill perfectly. Very pretty pub and staff were so friendly. The room was spotlessly clean. The shower was really powerful and considering it was -4° outside the room was really cosy and warm. We stayed in The Drage and would definitely stay in that room again. We had dinner in The Red Cow and the food was lovely. We had chicken wings and mushrooms to start and teriyaki chicken with noodles for main. Food was very tasty and plentiful. Bar prices were about average and there was a lovely open fire. We opted for the full English breakfast and this was really tasty. I can't recommend this place enough.
Nothing, but if I could have had a small fridge in the room this would have been good. I don't like the little cartoons of skimmed milk and like it when there is a little bottle of milk and water in the fridge.

Stayed 1 night while visiting the IWM. Only about 10mins drive. Super convenient. The property was lovely. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Room (The Drage) was in the barn conversion of the pub. Beautifully renovated. Very clean. Bed was comfortable and bathroom with White Company toiletries. Had dinner at the restaurant. Quite busy with good atmosphere. Food was ok - the rib eye steak was underwhelming. Staff were very friendly and professional. Overall would go back again. Highly recommend if looking for a place to stay near the IWM.

The location was very quiet and the pub very 'old world' like a proper pub should be. The room was very clean, and the bathroom exceptional
The breakfast was hot when it was served, although having to ask for coffee refills, would be ok if the staff were readily available and not tied up with other tasks. The toast was served cold and juice, such as orange was not offered/available. In the room, there was no sugar to add to my coffee, only 48 sachets of artificial sweetener. Tea was offered but only fruit/flavoured teas - no PG Tips or similar.

Beautiful thatched pub with restaurant and guest rooms. Very friendly and helpful bar staff and the food was very good. The guest room was in the refurbished barn section and was absolutely beautiful and of a vey high quality.
The only negative would be that the dressing table had a large tv mounted above it which meant there was no mirror and nowhere else to sit do hair and makeup. This could be easily fixed if the tv was moved over and a mirror placed above the dressing table.

Room was large, clean and modern. Bed comfortable and just opposite the pub (which on a hot summers day when you need the windows opening made it rather noisy - so could benefit from a fan in the room) Issue with drains so I was moved to another room, which was good as away from the pub garden and quieter.
That there wasn't a dog bowl provided which is just a helpful addition when travelling with your dog. Sound insulation could be better (fire doors mean a lot of slamming into a corridor with wooden floors and making everything very loud). The locks on the doors of the room aren't the correct fire-rated emergency locks so do not conform to the Oct 2023 Fire Regs

No mirror in room for putting on makeup (this was the only fault we could find and would not stop us using again if we were in the area .

Very clean, comfortable and attractive. Friendly staff with professional manner. Evening meal and breakfast tailored to meet our needs. Lovely location. Lovely that there was no radio/piped music at breakfast!
We would have like to be able to control the room temperature ourselves - staff had to do this remotely. There were two LED mirrors in the bathroom, but we couldn't get either to light up. A bit of noise from other rooms late evening, but nothing too intrusive.

Chrishall is lovely wee village with many thatched buildings - including the Red Cow pub and the accommodations which were in an old converted barn. The old original oak beams and building methods of bygone years were on display. In the pub a pleasant fire welcomed all and the patrons were happy and smiling. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. The breakfast had both regular fare as well as vegetarian options. I opted for the full English and was delighted with the breakfast and service. Our room was a grand example of how to make very high quality rooms in a thatched barn. There was a lovely oak floor and the bathroom was splendid. It was well appointed. It is obvious that care and attention went into the renovating of this extremely old building - keeping the rustic charm on the outside and clean, pure luxury on the inside. Oh, and they were happy to provide a three pin charger for our electric car. The car charge all night and was fully charged and ready to go by morning. This meant I did not have to find a fast charger at some point in my day - so we could simply enjoy our stay. All was very good and made for a very pleasant stay.
There is nothing that I can add here - it was all very good and everyone was friendly and helpful. I cannot think on anything that I could add here - it was great.
