Honestly, the California Inn is one of the nicest motels we've stayed in! It was super clean, the bed was comfy. I asked for decaf coffee in the room...she sent me 4! The staff was friendly, the breakfast was perfect, eggs, biscuits, sausage, gravy, waffles & more. There is access to your vehicle by your own sliding glass door, which was super convenient. Plenty of plug outlets. Even has HBO. And....the price is great! 10 Stars.

I stayed at this motel a year ago, so this is a second review. This time the room I had was further away from the outside access-door, so things were quieter. As I said before ... The room was clean, good-sized with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and TV. The guest toothbrush and toothpaste are still a nice bathroom touch. With the curtains drawn, the room was adequately dark. Breakfast was included, and there was a decent selection of food available. Overall, it remains a good value.

You can still definitely hear it when the water is turned on in a nearby room.

We had a wonderful experience at the Calafornia Inn in Barstow. We were just passing through, so we arrived late and left early, but our short stay was very pleasant. Excellent value for money clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations, with a nice variety of options and good quality. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and affordable place to stay.

The room was absolutely spotless. The cleaning staff is A-1. The receptionists are also A-1. I love the downstairs rooms with the sliding glass doors that open directly to your parking spot.

The location, while being very convenient, is in a very rough part of town. There is no getting around that. Barstow is rough. Lenwood isn’t any better. I appreciate that the California Inn has many security cameras and 24 hour surveillance.

The breakfast station was set up great. Did not have to go anywhere else for breakfast. Enjoyed the cleanliness and customer demand service of the staffing was friendly and helpful. The room was to my liking and enjoyed the balcony at nights.

I was on the 2nd floor. It would have been nice if there was an elevator. Took time going up and down the stairs with the amount of luggage my family and I had.

An older property, but recently renovated. Clean, quiet, comfortable. The free breakfast was much better than those found at a similarly priced location - plenty of food and a good selection. Front desk staff were welcoming and efficient. The two free water bottles in the mini fridge were a nice touch, usually only seen at pricier locales.

Breakfast was actually pretty good, nice breakfast room, omelettes with vegetables in them, as well as scrambled eggs, sausages, make-your-own waffles, more. Best to get there before 8 to avoid the rush. Nice desert view past the pool from our back door and window. Helpful pleasant staff.

Keys did not work well in outside door to our building. Neighborhood a little bleak to walk around in, but maybe that’s just what Barstow is like(?), we went for a walk to get some exercise but I don’t recommend it, bleak with few and rather down-and-out people on the street. Only happening business was a dollar store across and up the street. Quiet, though, aside from traffic which was not audible from the hotel itself since it’s set well back from the main drag.

The room was clean and comfortable; the bed was extremely comfortable, and the service was prompt and helpful. The location was fantastic as there were many places to eat nearby. Across the street, the DiNapoli Firehouse was the perfect place to grab pizza and a beer! They even had a travel kitty on site to make us smile!

I can't think of anything I didn't like. Everything was terrific and we felt very welcome there.

Clean, large bed and had a pool with loungers which was kept nice, we went back and stayed a second time on our trip as hotel was nice, staff lovely

For room privacy have upstairs room as No privacy curtains, you had to keep actual curtains closed and have a dark room and put lights on if you wanted to be in room down stairs, Breakfast was plastic knives and forks and throw away bowls and plates, cooked food was OK. Unfortunately there are no good restaurants in area just fast food
