Staff very pleasant. Rooms very good. Pillows to die for. View of Hollywood Hills from our room. They have added a free drinking water machine on each floor by the elevator which is a nice touch and saves money on in room bottles and effort to bring water in from the outside. They give you a metal bottle to use for the water dispensers. Excellent breakfast.

The tops of the metal bottles are sealed - which is good. However my older hands lack strength to twist off the tiny top without help. The Sofitel has stopped providing hard copy newspapers which I used to love. Instead they offer an online service which is very annoying as you have to open an account and close it later to avoid charges. I am sure the LA Times is still available and they should offer it for daily fee or free.

The stuff was super friendly, the room was cleaned really well and there even was a Nespresso machine, which was a nice surprise. Both room and bathroom were spacious. Location is a winner.

My only disappointment was that the room was a bit on the dark side, thus never got warm enough. My view was not particularly impressive, though I specifically took a more expensive room, to have a view. Also, the refurbishment works were going on in the hotel - it wasn't disturbing but I think the guests should be notified before they make a reservation.

Our stay at the hotel went very well. The location is quiet and convenient. While the valet parking is expensive, the service is extremely useful, and I would recommend it to anyone. The room was comfortable, and it’s worth mentioning that it is possible to request a refrigerator in the room, which is especially helpful for longer stays and for families with children, as was our case. I would, however, like to highlight an issue I experienced. During our stay, I needed an invoice, as per the conditions stated on Booking.com—a process I’m familiar with as I work in the hospitality industry myself. Unfortunately, the hotel was initially unable to meet my request, even after Booking’s customer service contacted them. It seemed to be a procedural issue. That said, I must commend the manager who assisted me on the evening of December 30th. He listened carefully to my concerns and made an effort to understand my reasoning. In the end, they were able to issue a document that met my needs, for which I am very grateful. Ultimately, the true strength of customer service, beyond managing daily operations, lies in finding solutions to more complex problems. I want to applaud the manager and the hotel team for doing their best to resolve the issue. These kinds of efforts make a real difference and add significant value to the hospitality experience.

The hotel was spotless as was our room. Every member of staff we encountered were delightful and would go above and beyond especially Jorge and Eric. On arrival our confirmation could not be found as booking.com had not confirmed with hotel (not hotels fault) but Jorge sorted this immediately and even gave us 100 dollar credit to our room for the inconvenience he was very professional and a credit to the hotel. Eric was always very attentive helping us with luggage and opening car doors for us. The overall experience of this hotel was incredible.

central location for west hollywood/bev hills. reasonably priced 4star. liked the corner rooms and diagonal floor plan layout. 1st time I ever stayed at this hotel was back in the early 90s (very different decor theme back then) and it's nice to see it's still around. comfortable beds. A/C works well. It was nice to find a place that was without a scene and not costing $$$for the fast overnight trip I was in town for.

the "business center" is a space right by the front desk and the lobby music is playing so hard to have a professional conversation. Would've been nice to have a quieter space to work. Would've been nice if there were usb outlets by the bedside (there were 2 ports by the desk) which was the only feature that reminded me that this was originally an older building.

The service and staff were exceptional! The bed linens were fantastic. It was incredibly clean. The food at the hotel was very good. In walking distance to food and shopping. We made use of the gym daily which was well maintained. We took our dog and they offered a doggy bed. They were incredibly friendly to the dog.

Overnight parking in the surrounding area is severely limited. There are about 3 meters in the front, which are taken. The surrounding neighborhood is restricted to permits. The mall across the street doesn't allow overnight parking. So you risk getting towed in most areas. The hotel offers valet parking at $71 per night per vehicle. We had 2 vehicles for 3 nights so we spent about $430 on parking alone. I tried looking for any other parking lot even a mile away but once you work out the cost it's about the same plus inconvenient.

Loved the cleanliness, loved that the receptionists were always helpful. They gave us a free upgrade to a luxury room facing the Hollywood hills which was amazing, you could really see the Hollywood sign from the window! Just have to zoom in quite a bit. Room was spacious and clean, toilet was wonderful with soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. Did not see any toothbrushes, but am not sure if you could request for it. One of the best things was that they provide you with reusable aluminum bottles, and there's a water dispenser at every lift lobby where you can refill your bottles! The water is filtered and does not have any tap water taste or metallic taste which you usually get when you fill from water coolers outside. They are also not stingy with the bottles, and they gave us extras when we asked for them. Location is nice and safe, there is always security standing at the door. There's a shopping mall right opposite but unfortunately it closes quite early by 6pm, so do visit early if you wanted to go over.

If I had to pick, I would say the location probably wasn't the best if you are not going to rent a car and you intend to travel around the whole city of LA. No issues getting to Beverly Hills, The Grove etc, but if you wanted to go to Santa Monica, Griffith Observatory, Chinatown, it really is quite a distance to travel and Uber/Lyft gets really expensive per trip, up to 50 USD even. It might be normal for LA but even so, it still makes travelling around expensive. So if you were thinking of hitting a lot of spots all over LA, do plan your route way ahead so you don't have to take so many ubers, or perhaps think about staying at another more central location.

-Sofitel is a true 5-star hotel in terms of its size and amenities. -The staff were friendly and solution-oriented. -The room I stayed in was more than adequate, and the bathroom was excellent. The frosting feature in the bathroom was impressive. -Sofitel has one of the best gyms I’ve ever seen, with a nice apple and coffee detail inside. -Having water dispensers on the floors was a great convenience, making it easier to stay hydrated. -The hotel is well-maintained despite being a bit old. -The hotel is conveniently located right across from the Beverly Center, where you can park for $18 a day with 24-hour access.

-Some parts of the hotel are a bit outdated, such as having a CD player in the room instead of more modern amenities like a Bluetooth speaker. -Valet parking fees are quite expensive, although this seems to be a common practice across Los Angeles.

Great location, very clean, friendly staff at reception desk and in the restaurant.

- Some rooms are very small (we had 2 rooms for 3 days, and one of the rooms was very small) - Some rooms would need to be repainted - The vallet parking is way too expensive ($75 per night !), and for this outrageous price, the valet staff does not even help you to load or unload your luggages. This is not acceptable, and Sofitel should correct this.
