One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! The location is great, because it's close to all the attractions, the neighbourhood is safe, it's a legendary hotel with a lot of musical history, it has all the amenities you could ask for (pools, gym, bars, restaurant etc.) and the staff is outstanding. We got a free upgrade of our room, only because we were staying more than a week. The room was quiet and spacious with a separate living area, a balcony and the bathroom was big enough for two for a longer stay. We had a little accident on the 2nd day of our stay and my partner was unable to walk but the staff were so helpful and courteous! We received crutches & a wheelchair for the entire rest of our stay, the crew helped us to find medical assistance and we were asked all the time, if we needed any help. It felt like home away from home. Thanks to the staff of the Sunset Marquis, we were still able to enjoy our vacation and we'll stay here again, the next time we travel to Los Angeles.

Pool great. Atmosphere with all the rock ‘n roll photos was fabulous. Staff were exceptional. Room came with (unexpected) free bottle of wine that was the same that I had at the restaurant, where the food was unbelievable. Neighborhood was walkable to groceries and many restaurants.

Only problem was bar where there were only 3 people but the bartender totally ignored us when we came in for a nightcap. After a few minutes (!!!) left, feeling very unwelcome. It was our last night, so could have left a really sour spot on the whole experience. But one person shouldn’t bring down an entire property.

The location makes it right in the middle of everything. I love the outdoor areas. Beds are very comfortable.

Only one complaint. One area which REALLY needs improvement is the lighting in the bedroom area. There are no bedside lamps offering softer late night illumination. Instead there are only bright white recessed ceiling lights above each of the 2 sides of the bed. These beam down a bit too harshly which can be unpleasant for the person who wants to go to sleep when another wishes to stay up and read. Also the light switches to these are reversed: the switch on the left turns the light on over the right side of the bed and visa versa. I’ve stayed in the hotel several times and this is consistent in each of the rooms I’ve been in.

Hidden gem in West Hollywood. The hotel has an excellent location near the beautiful stores, restaurants, bars and clubs on the Sunset Strip. But it is also well placed for tours to Holywood studios, Universal, Bel Air and Beverley Hills, The Grove and Rodeo drive and 30 mins drive from Santa Monica. The hotel recommended some excellent tours - the standout being the Rock and Walk tour . On this we discovered the Marquis history as the ‘in’ hotel in the area, (We had no idea - we just liked the look of it and the gardens) loved by rockers and movie stars. You might chance a celebrity here but we did not see any during our stay. The rooms are in the main hotel and fringed around the lovely quiet gardens are beautiful villas. For such a busy area the hotel was very peaceful. We were placed in the furthest room from the Lobby - we wondered was it because we are nobody’s! But no matter, the room was great and very quiet. The staff were very attentive and polite and we had a very good dinner and breakfast in the Catalina hotel restaurant. If In LA I would love to stay again.

This is the most inspiring place I have ever stayed at in the USA. There were so many things I liked that I can write and names I can take but I do not want to invade the private space of anyone so would refrain from mentioning names here but will say there were some stars at breakfast and it was just so nice to feel you are having breakfast along with some of the accomplished people in Hollywood. The location and the surroundings of the area are all amazing. The property itself is beautiful. Valet service is excellent. Just driving and walking around the place motivates you when you see all the success around you and there is so much to achieve in life! I would say if you want to have an inspiring and feel good stay with excellent staff support and service, this is your place. Thanks to the guys at the reception for giving me a free upgrade upon check in. Meant a lot to us. Fantastic stay 😍😍

Everything! The best part of this property is their staff, from the managers to the valet, special shoutout to Sandrine and Nicole who are the most amazing managers. They have been super sweet and helpful. We had a minor issue with our room, they took our issue very seriously and immediately supported us. They offered us complementary breakfast to make up for it. Then when we came back to Sunset Marquis for the second time again, and they gave us a huge upgrade. Lovely people, feels like our home in LA! The property itself is gorgeous, spacious rooms, it is in an amazing location. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. You can end up running into celebrities as well as it is a very popular hotel amongst locals as well.

The Sunset Marquis makes you feel like royalty the second you step on property. The beautiful pathways to the villas make you forget that you're in West Hollywood. It's quiet and romantic. They have a house car that took us to dinner - which was a nice surprise. The villa room we booked was stunning - complete with everything we could possibly want. Top of the line finishes throughout the room, from the powered drapes to the bidet, to the great water pressure from the rain shower head. Shout out to Jesse who helped make our anniversary even more special - we will definitely be back!

Great location in a quiet street in West Hollywood, close to many restaurants and stores. I loved how lush and green the grounds were and the cool rock n roll vibe with all the photos and memorabilia - all exceedingly quiet and low key. My one bedroom suite was quiet and spacious and had its own little private terrace facing the pool. The staff was friendly and provided excellent customer service, which made the stay very special.

My room and the hallways where I stayed were very outdated. The carpet and decor were worn and seemed like it was from the 1990s. The outside area around the pool also seemed like it could use a power wash and paint job.

This place was outstanding, staff, accommodations, location, atmosphere! They have it all! Walking distance to many areas, the resturant was beautiful, as you enter over the Koy Pond and the staff was so curtious and fun. The history and artwork is fantastic. The pool area is very inviting and has services for handicapped to alos enjoy which was fabulous to see.

Nothing, it was an amazing experience~ I had one small issue of lip marks on a slider (child sized) and mentioned it on my checkout, they were so gracious and extended apologies, assured it would be cleaned for the next guest and told me to watch for a discount on the resort fees to make it right!

Delicious breakfast - incredibly croissants - and great prompt room service. I liked the layout of the hotel and how you can amble through the grounds and open space. While it's close to Sunset Blvd it's set back enough to feel less hectic. Liked the layout of the suite.

The bedside lighting situation. There were only recessed overhead lights which were very bright. It would have been nice to have softer lamp lighting bedside in order to read without disturbing the person sharing the bed who wants to sleep. There are nice options in the living room with a table and floor lamp, if something similar could be available in the bedroom area that would be perfect.
