The lodge is a cute place nestled between lots of shops and restaurants. We particularly loved that the lodge had a bar/ restaurant in the downstairs area.

The surrounding areas of the property are currently experiencing a lot of construction. The area was extremely loud from 7:00 am- 5:00 pm which woke us up both days we stayed at the lodge. Along with this, our room, the room above the main office with the balcony, had a large window on the door itself that let in a ton of light in the morning making it hard to sleep past sunrise which is very early this time of year.

The location was fantastic — super convenient for getting around, and we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was compared to nearby Airbnbs. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub; the jets were strong and made for a great way to relax after a long day. The sauna was another nice touch — clean, well-maintained, and very soothing. Overall, a great value for the amenities and comfort offered!

The layout of the hotel was a bit unusual — the bar is located just down the hall from the hot tub room, and since it’s an open space, you can hear everything going on. We tried closing the door for a more relaxing experience, but a staff member reopened it, likely due to ventilation concerns. Parking in the evening was tight, presumably because of bar traffic. Luckily, we left our car parked and walked everywhere, but I could see it being an issue if we’d needed to leave and return later at night. Our room was very clean, which we appreciated. However, due to recent reports about hantavirus linked to deer mice in the area, I felt uneasy. We chose this hotel over camping to reduce exposure, but seeing mice running along the building near the bar definitely made me nervous.

It was my first time at this cute little town. I liked the location. This place has everything you need. It's perfect to enjoy nature, and the climate is perfect! The staff at the hotel is very helpful, professional, and friendly. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures of the room.

Like I said, everything is good except that I think they should have a microwave in their rooms. At least a tiny one. We went to have some dinner and had some to go food, but we ate it cold since there wasn't where to heat it up.

Room was a good size and very comfortable bed. Coffee machine with complimentary pods. We didn't use the spa but there was a sorta and hot tub on site. It's in a good location in Mammoth near restaurants and the bar in the basement of the hotel was very cool. Staff were very welcoming and we were even lucky enough to be given a free room upgrade without us even asking - thanks again!

It was required that we brought in any food / snacks from our car in the car park because of bad activity in the area. I don't actually think this is a negative of the hotel, simply the nature of the mountain town location. But if I had to pick something up that I didn't like and that was mildly inconvenient.

Very quiet and peaceful area and the accommodation was really good close to shops and the gondola. Older property with a European alpine lodge feel but clean and well maintained. Perfect location to visit the east side of Yosemite park (Tuolumne Meadows, Cathedral Lakes etc.) and Mono Lake. We came in the summer and would like to visit in winter too!. Our room was very spacious and clean, with coffee, water and mini-fridge. Big bonus was the very comfortable big bed. The shower worked well. We also welcomed the on-site service of being able to do our laundry after several days of hiking. Check-in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. Parking on-site was easy and felt secure. Thank you Alpenhof Lodge!

No biggie but the room was very warm however we had a separate floor-standing fan to help with that and could also open the window for a bit.

quiet, excellent location across from mammoth village. comfy bed. huge tv. powerful ('spinner jet) jacuzzi tub downstairs (indoor). daily light maid svc. ample parking.

altho fridge & coffee maker (pods) in rm., no in-rm. microwave, (there was one for use in laundry rm downstairs). warm outside on my visit, but kitchen vent for restaurant downstairs was next to my window (& a burger restaurant next door), so i couldn't open window or room would have taken on odor of a fryer.

Clean room. Comfortable beds. Hot shower. Friendly staff. Best bang for your buck if you want a solid hotel across the street from the village where there's plenty of restaurants and shopping. Sleep in a little and not have to worry about driving to and parking on the mountain. A quick walk across the street, and you're on the gondola. 3rd time staying here and have had zero issues.

WiFi was pretty slow. I ended up just using my phone's 5G instead.

The location is convenient, close to town center and with some decent restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. The facilities are good under this price, easy access to the shared microwave oven/ washer/ dryer. The room is spacious and quiet. We enjoy the stay in general.

The room is a little hot in summer time. Could be better to have a fan or AC. Shower water temperature is not very stable.

The hotel is a short walk to the gondola, so very convenient for skiing. The room was a comfortable size, comfy bed, quiet heating, clean with maid service even though we only stayed only 2nites. Location near the village is great for the price. Plus we had a room with a balcony which felt luxurious.

It could use a little updating, but it’s fine if you’re looking for an affordable option that has everything you need for a few days at the mountain.

I stayed in the main house. The room was very spacious, with plenty of storage options and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of open-air parking in front. Given that the hotel is older, the furniture in the rooms seems to have been recently updated. I liked the large fridge in the room and two water bottles were provided. Free WIFI. I liked the 'light touch' room service which replaced the towels daily and made the bed. Shampoo, conditioner and soap are provided. The location is perfect, within 5 min walking distance to the village gondola, Mammoth Brewery, and other restaurants in the village! There is a restaurant and a bar at the hotel.

Since the hotel is older, the interior - apart from the rooms - carpet, popcorn ceiling, etc. is a bit dated. No elevator, you need to carry your stuff up the stairs! There is no microwave in the room (just one in the basement, near the jacuzzi), which would have been nice since there is no breakfast provided. The coffee is not the greatest. The jacuzzi is okay, a bit on the small side and the bubbles a bit too much...the sauna could be hotter, and there is no cold dip option (I took a quick cold shower in between :).
