THe breakfast was fine. The location was excellent, a ten minute walk away from WCU's campus. It was conveniently close to the Sherpa Cafe and right on Tomichi, a thoroughfare leading directly to Main Street and downtown and all the attractions. The Gunnison Pizza restaurant was within a couple of blocks. Only a ten minute walk to the Ol' Miner and Cake Me Away.

The parking was crowded and awkward. The room was perfumed, to which my wife is allergic. The breakfast, while adequate, was in a cramped office wherein guests checked out, making eating awkward. The owner was not immediately available when we tried to check in, being at another of his properties.

Comfy room. Well-furnished. Pleasant front desk. Three boxes of tissues in room--unusual for moderately-priced motels. A little extra touch that we appreciated. Good value for the area. Decent breakfast. Excellent Nepalese restaurant next door.

Kind of a strong disinfectant smell in room that took a while to dissipate. Opening the window helped. We've noticed this at several motels during recent trips. Result of COVID ? Americans' obsession with cleanliness?

Immediately upon entering my room, I noticed that it was exceptionally clean. Also my interaction with the front desk staff person was refreshingly pleasant. My expectations for the property prior to check in weren’t high, as it was your typical one level old skool motel, but I was blown away by the obvious care the owner has put into this property. I will go back again and again

Selected based on price ,photos and reviews. Was not disappointed. Had a minor glitch with tv and manager came to room and fixed it Room was clean without weird smells common with older facilities . AC/ heater worked beautifully The room felt like putting on a favorite sweater or flannel shirt. Nothing fancy but good.

Only problem is the low height of toilet for those of us with old knees.

Perfect location for different activities. The option of a king-size bed is appreciated.

Continental Breakfast was very limited. Nothing for gluten free people except juice, coffee and fruit. It would be nice to open the breakfast area by 6:00 am.

I liked the convenience to the Park, and all the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful.

I wished the breakfasts had more hot food options besides oatmeal & waffles every single day - like scrambled eggs & a meat — especially for the price paid for lodging.

The price was more affordable than others nearby. The parking felt safe and secure. I was glad my room had a microwave so I could heat my coffee for a very early departure.

After watching the program where the woman helps refurbish older motels I would suggest cleaning up and organizing the front desk area. It did not give a good first impression.

I enjoyed that the staff was rather helpful, especially the manager. He was a joy and constantly asking if we needed anything when he seen us. He even gave us a call as well as we arrived later than expected to ask if we needed anything prepared for our arrival and to make sure the front desk stayed open for us.

The parking lot is odd, difficult to drive through as there is a few things in the way. There was only one pillow on the bed as well, but that obviously is what you make it.

Everything was amazing during my stay. The gentleman at the desk was a perfect example of aggressive hospitality.

I feel bad even bringing this up but receiving a social media friend request upon arrival at home from the employee. The line between guest and hotelier was crossed. I had an amazing review planned until that happened.

Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Nice environment. Bed was super comfy and room had a nice view on the red mountains.

It was a bit noisy as room was next to the parking lot
