OK… First off, this is an old inn. It’s got charm, but make sure your expectations are flexible. It is in MUCH need of repairs. There are a LOT of “make do” features. We were fine with this, but if you’re expecting anything else, you need to NOT stay here. The staff were all very nice, and for the price, we were good. The bed was worn, but comfortable, the room was clean enough and we avoided what was not, like the porch floor (wear shoes!), fan blades (leave turned off!). The plumbing was good, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. AND, the AC worked GREAT! BUT… they will not be cleaning or replenishing room needs unless you ask. Read all the little signs around your room! All that said, what you REALLY NEED TO KNOW is that there are three levels with NO ELEVATOR. There IS a wheelchair ramp from parking to the first level. The first floor is 11 porch steps up from the parking lot. And to get to the 2nd floor, there are only stairs… 19 steps. While THIS isn’t that much of an issue, if you’re staying on the 3rd floor, there are 19 more! So for those staying on the 3rd floor, there are 49 steps up from your car to navigate every trip! No elevators. Be prepared. The stairs are external porch stairs and narrow. Hauling luggage and/coolers is not for the elderly or physically challenged. We were put on the third floor with no prior understanding of this. Luckily we are capable. But every other couple we talked to had not been made aware either, and some were pretty elderly! This is not good. THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. I feel like they intentionally remain silent about the lack of elevator. This is not right. Would we stay here again? Maybe, but next time I will make sure I know exactly what to expect.

The charming St. George Inn and staff. The rocking chairs on the porch outside my door. The island decorations...so pretty. My second sweet Christmas 🎄 stay. I can take my little dog! And the guest! Met several nice folks where we gathered just outside my room, the Sandpiper, in the lobby and enjoyed coffee and their dogs a couple mornings! Also, had a good space to prepare a little Christmas dinner with a TV as Big as a wall! Big thanks to the Inn!

What a cute boutique hotel on a small, barely there island. The hotel is located within walking distance to all of the restaurants, the central park with beach access, and the ATM. It was really very cute, and the staff working there were accomodating. They have a stack of full sized beach towels in the lobby that anyone is free to borrow for the day, and lots of charming kitties lingering around outside, which I personally enjoyed. The first room we booked was inexpensive, but ultimately too small. The kind woman at the front desk showed us the other available rooms, and we upgraded for an additional $30 a night to a much larger room on the first floor.

The walk-out wrap around porch was nice, but the entire west side of the building is directly next to a large surf shop, which blocks any and all views. I simply walked around the porch until I found a sunny spot, so not the biggest deal!

I liked that it was unlike a mainstream hotel. It is very unique and old and his personality. It makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time.

It is a wooden structure and has no carpet so any sound reverberates throughout the whole building. BRING EARPLUGS. The icemaker is stored outside the room so whenever the ice dumps, it is very loud. People come in throughout the night so you can hear footsteps on wood floor and shutting of doors. After midnight, someone tried to come into my room 😳. It has many stairs, but I wouldn’t trade the structure of the building or the fact that it doesn’t have stairs because it would change the experience.

Hotel was in the heart of St George Island, Everything was in walking distance, Had a great relaxing experience.

Loved the charm of the inn. We also loved the wrap around porch. We loved everything was right there that we wanted to do which was the beach and eat lol beds were comfy loved it. Showers water pressure was amazing. Loved how high the fan went lol I'm from Ga so keeping the humidity and heat down #1priorty loved how cold it was in the room. My husband loved the coffee station was right outside our door lol.

There wasn't any storage space in the bathroom but we managed. I could see there used to be but like we say around here ya can't ever have nothing nice.

I liked that it was an Inn and cute, not typical motel. Coffee was available 24/7 with a Keurig with high quality coffee.

The placement of the tv is horrible. It is over the door, so high. You can only lay in bed to watch or you get a crick in your neck so you get a back ache instead. The need to paint the bathroom. Some repairs were made and spackled but never repainted. Kind of weird.

We loved the central location of this beautiful inn. We were close to dining, shopping, and the light house museum. The views were spectacular, and the inn itself is quaint and neatly, but simply decorated.

We did not like the narrow, steep stairs on the outside of the building. We arrived when it was raining and the climb felt very treacherous. The bed was fine but not very comfortable. The walls were extremely thin and could hear just about everything that made a sound in our neighbors' rooms. Next time we will opt for a first or second floor room over the view and balcony.

Walking distance to every thing the beach, lighthouse, restaurants, shopping etc.

I didn’t like climbing the stairs up to the third floor but my doctor would appreciate the cardio I got while on vacation! I knew ahead of time there was no elevator. This was the first vacation I lost weight due to the stairs.

The location is close enough to the beach since the island is small. We had a car to get around but could have walked to many restaurants and a public beach. The price was great and the hotel is super quirky which I loved. Beach towels were available for us there. I would stay here again, the price was extremely reasonable.

Our room was freezing and the main thermostat was kept at 68. I suppose I could have mentioned this to the front desk but Florida in July is super hot and not everyone likes the same temperature setting. It would be ideal if each room had its own thermostat but it’s an old building. I just wore sweats to sleep at night. This wasn’t such a big deal.
