What a delightful historical spot in Macon. We were en route from Florida to New England and decided to spend 2 nights at this lovely property. The staff was helpful and gracious. The cocktail hour was a treat. We enjoyed our drinks on the inviting front porch. Breakfasts were just exceptional and a great start to the day. We enjoyed some sightseeing around town and some excellent dining.

If we return, we’ll opt for slightly bigger accommodations. We chose a room in the top floor of the building behind the main building. It was cozy but lacking in natural light since it only had one window.

The 1842 Inn Exceeded our expectations. From the ease of checking in to checking out. This was a bed & breakfast we highly recommend. The staff and service were outstanding. Very friendly and hospitable. Having breakfast in the courtyard was a relaxing experience. The selections offered for breakfast was excellent. I want to thank the staff for providing a place to stay that felt like home. Not may establishments can offer this. Great job to the management and staff at 1842 Inn

We are 65 so next time we visit we will make sure it is on the first floor .

What a gorgeous property! A bit difficult for me to find, but I was thrilled when I saw it from the street. My mansion away from home. Each room was masterfully decorated with comfort being number one. The veranda had rocking chairs and people gathered to chat, stranger to stranger. Cocktails were offered to each guest. My room was small (I was traveling with my pet) and in the cottage behind the mansion; lovely garden between it and the main house. Guests could gather in the garden as well as elsewhere in the mansion. Breakfast was especially good and the amount was perfect before a long journey home. Sadly, traffic around Atlanta will preclude me traveling that route back to Florida.

Restaurants were located a short drive away, but the one within walking distance was poor. I should have called for delivery from a restaurant recommended by the staff. The entrance to the property is tricky if you are driving a big vehicle, but the actual parking to plentiful, even a charging station for those who are on the cutting edge.

Due to a detour we went through the neighborhood BEHIND the property. Not ya good neighborhood. But neighborhood in the actually street the property is in is beautiful.

We arrived a day early due to my mixup. Front desk staff said no problem that they could find a room for us but it would be the largest they had and we cost more. What could I say? Then we found out only 3 other rooms had guest.

I loved the Pillows, sheets and towels!! I would love to know the brands and buy them for myself. I slept the best I had in weeks. 10 hrs?? The breakfast was elegant and felt special

I didn't know that we would be in a separate building. Didn't really matter though. We were in the Lookout room because I wanted a king bed. I wish the eggs had been a little hotter.

It was much more than I expected. My husband is not one for old historic stays but we were both pleasantly surprised. Our room was just beautiful and cozy. I wish we could have stayed longer! The staff went out of their way for anything you asked for. The breakfast was great as well. It was brought to our room, wasnt expecting that, or any place else we would have preferred . I had an egg breakfast that was very good and my husband got the french toast. It had strawberries on it, which he did not prefer but other than that it was good. I will definitely stay there again when we go through Macon.!

It’s own peaceful natural southern beauty! I love history being preserved and you all have done an excellent job of keeping the Inn in great shape.

I can’t really say there is anything I don’t like about the Inn. As we age the stairs with luggage are hard to navigate. We’ll just stay downstairs next time.

Breakfast was outstanding! We asked for the courtyard but someone changed it to the front porch (since construction was going on out back). No problem... and "Flecia" was a joy to interact with!

"Happy hour" ended just before we got there - would have liked to participate a little (arrival time was communicated to the hotel)

The 1842 Inn is wonderful. In a quiet and old part of Macon at the top of a hill. The property is well kept with old Magnolia trees in front and gardens in the rear. It looks just like a postcard. We enjoyed our stay very much

We have no complaints or suggestions to improve. This is a well run property and has wonderful employees who know their jobs very well.

As with most of the city, the mid to late 19th century architecture of the inn & surrounding neighborhood was such a delight. The staff was accommodating, friendly & offered extra amenities in a beautiful sitting parlor.

If I had known that there are no elevators I would’ve asked for a first floor room.
