The view and location was out standing.

Renovations were underway and the rooftop had limited use.

Waikiki is expensive so trying to find something that suits your budget but still offers everything you want is a challenge. This property worked out well for us. Short walk to beach, food trucks, bus. The bus is also a short ride to a proper supermarket if you want to cook your own meals. Our balcony had a partial view of ocean but only standing room and sticking head out however the views from rooftop pool were amazing!

There were little cockroaches running around the kitchenette after dark. Saw about 5. Food needs to be kept in sealed containers or in the fridge. While we were there, there was a notice in the lift that the pest controller was treating every unit. So they are aware and doing something about it. It would not put me off staying there again. The apartment was spotless.

Excellent location and very spacious suite. It was very clean. Loved the balcony view! Very close to beach, places to eat, walk, shop, bus stop across the street. Walking distance from everything I needed. Based on research, this was one of the few (mid-tier) Waikiki hotels that even had a microwave. Lots of other kitchen appliances and dishes. That was unexpected. Rooftop pool, hot tub and sauna looked in excellent, clean condition. These were not busy at the time I was there but I didn't have time to make use of them. Overall, a perfect place for solo traveler like me.

The staff seemed confused about my checkout time but it was eventually clarified. At one point the cleaning staff rang the doorbell a few times while the "do not disturb" sign was outside. These two are minor issues that were resolved. Side note: My original stay was for 6 nights but it got reduced to 3 nights due to flight changes. Unfortunately, I chose a 'no-refund / no-cancellation' option when I booked the room to take advantage of a discount. They offered no flexibility or extension on this when I inquired about helping alleviate the extra costs once my stay time was reduced. In the future I will always pick a refund / cancellation option.

Two blocks to Kūhiō Beach; hotel was centrally located; staff were friendly and helpful; kitchen saved us money by eating in occasionally; free beach furnishings helped us enjoy the beach too

No in-house breakfast restaurant; hotel pool was not available for use

The location was wonderful, only a couple of blocks from the beach, the zoo, or meeting places to catch tours buses. For those who want to shop, it a great location, streets of stores. Quick bus ride or walk (30-40 min) to Ala Moana mall. Easy access to restaurants, and my favourite places are the smaller places across the street from the hotel that sell Korean Barbecue, or Poke. There are ABC convenience stores located everywhere. My room was well equipped with cooking equipment. The bed was very comfortable. I was on the 8th floor right by the elevator and I couldn’t hear it, which was amazing. The room was fairly updated and nice. The air conditioner is noisy and a bit to close to the bed for my liking, but you adjust after the first night or two.The overhead fan helps as a nice white noise and helps move the cool air around. Bring earplugs to use until you’re adjusted. The street noise was not bad, you have to remember your in busy tourist area, but things quieted down at reasonable hours on the weekends. There was renovations going on during my stay but it wasn’t bothersome and kept to reasonable hours.I loved the energy of the area. You can spend the day at the beach, (rent a chair & umbrella) or buy a beach chair at ABC,. Take some tours, or stroll along the streets for hours. I didn’t use the rooftop pool, I found the area noisy from machinery fans, but others people, especially those with kids were enjoying it. I love not needing a car to get around. There was easy to book shuttle service, or city bus service between airport and hotel. Great times, great vacation.

Nothing. It was good value for the price. I find it helpful to read other people reviews to know what to expect in advance.

Great Location, Clean, comfortable bed

I was surprised they charged $29.00 extra for internet and laundry facilities. This was a mandatory charge and did not use either services. I thought the charge was for Bishop Museum but just changed that before arrived was told.

Location is fantastic!! (2 blocks from Duke statue and bus stop outside buildings). Ocean View rooms see beautiful coloured water (but also Hyatt buildings). Room has everything you need.Great balcony for meals at the apartment. Good system of towel borrowing and exchange for beach towels. 24hr desk was good for checking in/out at 5am. The very best thing is the big windows in the living space-just beautiful! I have stayed here once before and would stay here again. Request high floor for view.

Bed was OK but not the most comfortable, no air con in bedroom (did have ceiling fan and window air con in living area). Locks on sliding doors did not always works as they were older style but maintenance came and fixed.

We booked stay only and it was a great experience. All necessary amenities were provided, safe, roof pool, jacuzzi, sauna all free of charge. Our room was spacious, clean and cleaned every day, it also had a side view to the ocean. The hotel has a great location in particular - 3 minutes from Waikiki beach! You can easily use public bus there, the bust stops are almost at the doorstep of the hotel. Cutlery and dishes for 4 people for preparation of basic breakfast or dinner were also provided. There are plenty of places to have a lunch from 15$ upwards. There is also a luggage storage store it after check out and possibility to have a shower free of charge / great option for late flights!

Minor things really - entry door is of a poor quality and with a gap under it - you will hear everything from the corridor should you get noisy neighbors. The air conditioning unit is very loud. It is placed in the living area but you might hear it running in the bedroom while sleeping. We visited the place early June and slept with open windows and the unit switched off overnight so it was no problem for us, wouldn't be able to sleep with A/C unit running.

Amazing place! I have lived in Singapore and Tokyo at amazing condos and have done luxury traveling a lot in Europe. Even though Pacific Monarch is not a luxury property, I feel that it has the " local neighbourhood " vibe which I absolutely love! Here are the reasons that made it great for me: 1. STAFF: The kindest, friendliest and caring staff who are mostly Filipino, other Asians and Hawaiians. They were so kind with the friendliest of smiles, support and service. I actually started to think of them as a welcome member of my holiday as I would walk everyday past them to say good morning and good night as I go about my day. 2. MY ROOM ( QUEEN, PARTIAL OCEAN VIEW ): Although modest and by far, not anything luxurious, there was a really nice, pleasant vibe about it. It felt like it was an apartment that had a life. I love the balcony. 3. CLEANLINESS : The first maid was not so thorough but after mentioning it to the staff on desk, they made sure that my room was cleaned all the time in the best way. I really valued their attention to detail. The maids were always so happy and kind. 4. LOCATION : Amazing location - lively and yet " quiet ". Lots of restaurants, bars on Kuhio. Lots of shops and beach on Waikiki strip. Hotel is wedged between the two roads / areas...so whichever way you go, you won't be starved for bars, restaurants or things to do. Kuhio beach is right across from the hotel and it's so amazing to see the surfers.

NOTHING: Despite its imperfections and slightly "dated" vibe, it's EXACTLY what I was looking for in Waikiki bc it kinda brings me back to how it could have been back in time when things were a bit more slow. I am NOT looking for the super modern, minimalist vibe bc this is how my condo was in Singapore and Tokyo. I am looking for character and Pacific Monarch has it with all the regular tenants etc.

Location

The carpet was horrible. Ugly and dirty. A real disappointment. The furniture was not good in the bedroom. Rickety and cheap.
