I loved the design of this property. Everything felt well thought out and maintained well. Everything felt new. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The live music everyday was a treat. The restaurant was fun and had a great view. The value for the money of this hotel was outstanding.

My only complaint is that our ocean view room didn’t have an actual ocean view. You couldn’t see it from the window. You had to go out to the porch and then crane your neck to the side to see it. That was a slight bummer.

Our room was perfect. The halls were like walking into and out to paradise. The staff was so very wonderful. The kauai coffee was the best hotel coffee I've ever had. Our room location could not have been more perfect. From our balcony we could see the ocean hear the band. Just the best place I've ever traveled to and stayed. Side note! Not part of our resort. The walkway to the shopping and dinning areas really needs cleaned up better. It's so out of place between the resort and the shopping and dinning area. A tall privacy fence would be a great purchase for that walkway to hide all the not so pleasant things. But I'll still be back to kauai Shores hotel for sure!

Everything...and everyone... A 4 night stay has a single woman. In a sea of families..groups..and other parties. I enjoy the live Thursday band..the set up of the LavLav beach beach front.. all pictures show the wonderful property. It's a great location for food.. But not so much for the swimming and relaxing side of the waters. I found myself happy to explore the islands other beaches. & i love the kind heartness of the staff.. has my day starting. A crew member overheard me speaking of wanting a waterfall i could touch.. being the day before, i found one only for photo. The crew member suggested Ho'opi'i Falls Trailhead.. a 3 in 2 waterfall trail. Great experience.

Possibly the parking, but it all worked out.. i was always about to park near my building.

We had a nice ocean view. The corn hole, daily morning yoga, and free bikes were amazing amenities. Lots of thoughtful little touches like the driftwood swing on the beach and the Aloha sign for pictures. A beachfront restaurant with your toes in the sand is hard to beat. The room also had nice small touches like local Kauia coffee, plenty of charging spots and bedside reading lights. The landscaping was great and the overall hotel and room design was solid. The pools were great and the hot tub temperature was actually hot. Great lounger chairs and umbrellas.

The hotel restaurant food was hecka pricy. Like, a small tuna appetizer was $28. Virgin pina coladas were $11. The beach wasn't ideal for swimming. Rocks and got deep fast. The deck needed a table. The coffee creamer was powder, ew. And for a nature-focused location, the amount of single use plastics in the room (specifically with the plastic film wrapped single use plastic cups) was a bummer.

The hotel is very friendly. The staff is nice and very helpful and efficient. The 2 pools are great. The adjacent restaurant next to the beach has a wonderful view. There is a small mall with everything you need next to the hotel. The rooms are clean, parking is easy and free, bikes are available for free. There is a coin-operated laundry. This place is fantastic!

only minor things could be improved: - If possible ask for a room on the 2nd floor because 1st floor's room are darker and less private - Pool towels are available at reception desk which is not very convenient - The ocean is rough in that place and not fit for snorkeling.

Location by the beach was great, and the hotel felt like a community with nice little touches like having an (optional) hotel room plant to look after during our stay, and the chickens roaming around the grounds. The on-location restaurant / bar (Lava Lava Beach Club) was also great.

Parking was difficult - most self-park parking spots had cars which were over the parking lines / cars parked very close to the parking lines. We didn't feel comfortable parking in this area due to risk of damage to our rental car - we had to rely solely on the valet parking lot.

later in the evening the parking spot gets pretty full but there is complimentary valet parking so it‘s not really a problem; after 3pm they start live music at the beach restaurant, but they don‘t turn off the pool music so you end up listening to two different songs at the same time which is rather annoying

Property nicely located with direct beach access, walk to shopping center next door and eating - less than 5 minute walk to most places. Grocery store maybe 7 minute walk. Had 2 pools and a hot tub. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. No elevators but it's only 2 floors so not really an issue. Needed car only to see other parts of Kauai. Very clean and spacious rooms. Reasonable room price for Kauai.

Being rainy season had to move tables sometimes when eating at restaurant on property. Our room was oceanview but the ocean wasn't close. You could see the ocean but not hear it.

A zen experience with family flair! What a beautiful sprawling property on the coconut coast of Kauai. Everything from the pre-check in to the post check-out was personal and hospitable through and through. The Aloha spirit was truly felt here. The rooms -spacious, comfortable! The amenities- reminiscent of home! The food- absolutely divine. I can’t recommend this place enough! Novella and Kala, thank you for making us feel welcome and always being so cheerful! All those little finds and those recommendations from Novella were the best! Housekeeping was thorough! The water filter and the laundry facilities at the Lei building was absolutely convenient. A shout out to the ever so friendly valet personnel!

There’s nothing to unlike!

The location was perfect as we spent each day at the beach. The hotel had an old Hawaii vibe, but our beachfront room was very modern. The Lava Lava Beach Club was a fabulous addition, with live music, great drinks and wonderful food. A three minute walk to the Coconut Marketplace for shopping and an outstanding deli food market was great.

I can't think of anything that did not meet our vacation expectations.
